Canada embraces holocaust denial

T. Belman. I selected this provocative title. To deny that the Holocaust is essentially a Jewish tragedy is to deny the Holocaust.

The statement Canadian Prime Minister Justice Trudeau issued Wednesday in honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day suffered from one very glaring omission.

The Holocaust is defined as the genocide of six million Jews at the hands of the Nazi regime and its collaborators, but in his statement, Trudeau did not mention the words “Jew” or “anti-Semitism” once.

Instead, the Liberal leader offered “tribute to the memory of the millions of victims murdered during the Holocaust,” adding that Canada honors “those who survived atrocities at the hands of the Nazi regime, and welcome their courageous stories of hope and perseverance.”

Continuing, Trudeau asserted, “The Holocaust is a stark reminder of the dangers and risks of allowing hate, prejudice, and discrimination to spread unchallenged. It also reminds us that silence must never be an option when humanity is threatened.”

“As we pause to educate ourselves and our families on the bitter lessons of the Holocaust, we also strengthen our resolve to work with domestic and international partners to continue defending human rights and condemning intolerance.”

  1. Political correctness at work. How about Obama? Claiming that we are all Jews?? What the hell is that suppose to mean? The gentile either wants to be included as ‘one of us’ or just exclude us altogether! The melting pot!

Obviously they are going to push the envelope to see if we really can make NEVER AGAIN a reality.

  2. 1. Trudeau Jr. in Ottawa
    2. Wynne in Ontario
    3. Possibly (probably?) Crone Clinton in DC

    Conclusion: Nous sommes bien fucké

  3. You have a point, Mr. Belman. And to support your point, Iran is the world’s premier Holocaust denier and at the same time Khamenei was publicly denying the Holocaust yet again, Stephane Dion, Trudeau’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, was telling Canadians that he would be lifting sanctions against Iran. Why is Canada appeasing Holocaust deniers? According to Dion, to better serve Canadian interests, whatever the hell that means.

Trudeau should also ask Omar Alghabra and the other Muslim MPs what their views are on the Holocaust and make those views public.

  4. Trudeau is and will continue to be a disaster for Jews and Israel – it is predictable. He has a brother who makes anti Israel documentaries, large amounts of support come for the Muslim communities with whom he is very close and like his father, he is not particularly close to Jews in general.

In sprite of this, the Jewish community in Canada voted for him in large blocs, meaning liberal votes. They closed their eyes to reality and put party ahead of good judgment.

Having this man as PM after Stephen Harper is particularly galling because Harper was so good to Israel and there is now such a contrast. It won’t be a fun period and most likely will get worse.

  5. I fear that Trudeau,le fils, will exhibit far more useful idiocy in the future.
Let’s wait before we ask the enlightened.

  6. I wonder what the Shermans – who threw a large party for “Baby Doc” as a means of support for his campaign to become our fearless leader – think about the money they wasted and the now-obvious repercussions for Canada.

  7. You can’t really expect him to say the word “Jew” after all. But Jews as a people and Israel as a nation state should be the objects of his invitation to tell “their courageous stories of hope and perseverance.”

I think the first real journalist who has an opportunity to ask him a question should pose this to the inaptly named Justice:

“Do you welcome the courageous stories of the people of Israel who never gave up hope and continue persevering today in the face of unrelenting Jew hatred and resurgent European antisemitism?”
