Boston terrorist’s pal admits link to 2011 murder of 3 Jews

WASHINGTON – The link between Tamerlan Tsarnaev, suspected of committing the terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon in April, to a cruel homicide of three Jewish men in September 2011, tightens. Ibrahim Todashev, a friend of Tsarnaev who was shot and killed in Orlando, Florida on Wednesday after attacking an FBI agent, admitted in his investigation he was involved in the murder of Brendan Mess, Raphael Teken and Erik Weisseman, together with Tsarnaev.

The Jewish men were brutally murdered, and marijuana was scattered on their bodies to make the scene seem drug-related. They were murdered in Mess’s apartment in Waltham, west of Boston. A Boston Police investigation reached a dead end, and no suspects were arrested.

Todashev, 27, told his investigators that while devoting himself to martial arts and training, he met Tsarnaev, who was a boxer. Two Massachusetts police officers and other law enforcement professionals took part in his interrogation, as they tried to link him to the marathon attack. At the point it was apparent that Todashev was actually linked to the 2011 triple homicide, he pulled a knife and injured an investigator, and in response he was shot and killed by the FBI agent.

A legal source revealed that only during the investigation it became clear Todashev was involved in the triple murder two years ago, and that Todashev was not suspected of being involved in the Boston marathon attack. The FBI tracked him down in an effort to reach everyone who knew the Tsarnaev brothers and could be a possible danger to the public. Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s phone number was found on Todashev’s phone.

The triple murder made headlines by the families of the three Jewish victims after Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s involvement in the Boston marathon attack was published. Tamerlan met Brendan Mess at the gym where they boxed and became friends. To the surprise of many, he did not come to the funeral.

  1. “Since when do police or agents carry a pre prepared confession outside, to be signed in a condo, on an initial interview for questioning.”

OR: Since when does a man without definite proof of citizenship become president of the United States of America? These are strange times we are living in.

“…the dead man may still be the guilty party but if there is something to hide I would like to know what that is.”

Now I see what you’re saying, Mr. Ross. Like a Jack Ruby/Harvey Oswald situation. Very good point.

Even so, I’m still happy, extremely happy, the sick bastard is dead.

  2. Michael Devolin Said:

“…it is not such a stretch to believe that someone who committed triple murder actually did become violent towards an FBI agent and had to be shot.”

this is true, but think carefully about this:

Since when do police, or agents, carry a pre prepared confession outside, to be signed in a condo, on an initial interview for questioning.

this is ridiculous, either the press got it wrong or it is BS. the press might have it wrong but it needs to be addressed.

  3. Michael Devolin Said:

He knew as soon as he saw the FBI standing at his door that the game was up.

you didn’t read the details in the links. The FBI said they questioned him at his condo and that he was about to sign a confession. Since when do police or agents carry a pre prepared confession outside, to be signed in a condo, on an initial interview for questioning. Also, you should read the statement of the dead mans friend. It is possible the media got things wrong but so far the details given the public are not convincing. We all like to see dead jihadis but facts are unrelated to that desire. The current administration, including the FBI, have been engaging in lies. If they are lying in this case, which is not beyond belief based on prior behavior, then there might be something to hide. There has been something to hide by the obama administration in a myriad of areas, some already proven and some in the process of being proven. Even if the govt is hiding something the dead man may still be the guilty party but if there is something to hide I would like to know what that is. Although it is not impossible to believe that the guy lunged with a knife, after agreeing to sign a confession while surrounded by agents, it is not the most believable narrative that they could not subdue him otherwise or even shoot him in the legs.

  4. @ Michael Devolin:

Agreed – Occam’s razor says the simple truth is the simple truth.
Simple is as simple does – but I would have liked to gotten more details and signed confession etc on the triple murder – for the sake of the families of the slain but he would have eventually lawyered up , retracted and went to stonewall behind the system.
They probably managed to trigger his emotions and provoke a confession – when he realized that he had given the show away – probably for free – he panicked and tried to escape the situation.
Yes rejoice – garbage in garbage out.

  5. “…it is not such a stretch to believe that someone who committed triple murder actually did become violent towards an FBI agent and had to be shot.”

Exactly. I agree on this point, Laura. It’s the only one that makes sense. I’m thinking this POS jihadist was violent from the get-go, as soon as he was confronted by the FBI. He knew as soon as he saw the FBI standing at his door that the game was up. The important thing is that this scum-bag was shot dead. Let’s be happy about that. No tax-payer funded, drawn-out trial, just a well-aimed bullet taking another murdering Muslim savage to the darkness inhabited by all anti-Jewish scum. Rejoice.

  6. @ yamit82:

The song is called “The Cowboy’s Meditation”. Did you ever sdd “Tom Horn” with Steve McQueen, my Dad took me, to the area of Wyo to see to see where Tom Horn rode.

  7. @ yamit82:

Very lovely I need apeasceful song too, I sent “At Midnight when Cattle are Sleepig”. When I was a kid I wold lay in the grass at night and sing.

  8. @ yamit 82:

Yamit 82 it’s late, go look at the “cold indifferent stars”, The name of the book is,” Parade’s End”; My brains have scambled again, pease forgive. Buenos noches

  9. Laura Said:

Bernard and Yamit, it is not such a stretch to believe that someone who committed triple murder actually did become violent towards an FBI agent and had to be shot.

That’s the problem. Was he the Jew Killer? How do we know? Because the FBI said so?

Do I believe the FBI? Should I? I think like Bernard said, you do because you want to and not because of any objective reasoning. Maybe he did but he is conveniently dead and all we have is the politicized FBI’ word for it. You cannot logically oppose and disbelieve Obama and his corrupt administration yet believe one of the main extensions of Obama’s corrupt Admin, like the Justice dept., The ,the EPA, the IRS etc. The FBI had a hand in almost all of the efforts to promote the interests of Obama’s election and the aftermath of the elections.

They have Blown so many opportunities like the Boston Bombers. So why credit them with this singular success without at least being prudently skeptical, especially when much of the reported version seems at least questionable?

I put the full burden of proof on the FBI and so far have not seen any that is convincing. Need more information and facts to be persuaded.

  10. Bernard Ross Said:

Many connections of ill repute probably still remain. Lets not be naive. Remember the Kennedy assassination, Jack Ruby and Hoover’s fight to remain in control?</blockquote

Got mouse in your pocket Ross,Sweetie. Laura and I just sweet young things.

  11. Honey Bee Said:

by silencing the Florida suspect, he will now be unable to implicated others involved.

this is true but it is more than that for me. there are many questions in the govvt role in the boston bombers ESPECIALLY the behavior of the FBI. The whole question of questioning the suspects and talking to the mother in the past and being warned by the russians. We either have to believe that the FBI are complete incompetent idiots or that they are lying. It is hard for me to believe they are that incompetent, although possible, but I must also consider the alternative. the only difference between the govt version and a different version is the govt’s word and that hasn’t been very convincing on any subject lately. The FBI has a history of conspiracy since JE Hoover who was an insane megalomaniac who might have determined many outcomes through the blackmailing of politicians including the Kennedy’s. Many connections of ill repute probably still remain. Lets not be naive. Remember the Kennedy assassination, Jack Ruby and Hoover’s fight to remain in control?

  12. Laura Said:

it is not such a stretch to believe that someone who committed triple murder actually did become violent towards an FBI agent and had to be shot.

it may indeed have happened that way but the questions raised by Yamit and myslef remain and you have not spoken to any of those questions. You appear to be invested in the outcome. I am not invested in whether the facts say one thing or another,I just notice that there are weaknesses in the story which should be addressed. Furthermore, if the weaknesses continue to remain I would want to know why. I am sure that you have noticed the creepong control of govt of media, gun control, etc. This FBI is an arm of govt and has had many past scandals. the story so far sounds bogus but it could get clearer later.
    Laura Said:

I hear that bullshit argument from liberals EVERY TIME the police are forced to shoot a suspect.

this is where your problem lies, you see everything as a struggle between right and left. I am making no argument at all in any direction. I am merely pointing out some strange “facts” in the story. don’t you think it strange that both Yamit and I had very similar questions. I am sure that you are very wary of the obama administration, which you should be, but why dont you realize that the FBI does the govt bidding when required.

  13. Laura Said:

I really cannot fathom why people here are defending a Jew-killer.

the first step is to stop identifying questioning govt statements with defending a jew killer. The two actions are completely unrelated.

  14. @ Laura:

Yamit 82 and Bernard Ross are concerned that by silencing the Florida suspect, he will now be unable to implicated others involved.

  15. Bernard and Yamit, it is not such a stretch to believe that someone who committed triple murder actually did become violent towards an FBI agent and had to be shot. You were not in the position of these officers to make the determination that they could have used some other method of restraint. I hear that bullshit argument from liberals EVERY TIME the police are forced to shoot a suspect.

  16. Laura Said:

I can’t believe you are defending someone involved in the murder of Jews.

I cannot possibly see how you came to this conclusion. Why do you see my questioning of facts to be a defense of someone, especially facts emanating from govt. sources? I do not confuse my desires with facts and I do not blindly accept the statements of govts simply because they appear to be against the same enemy as me or on the same side. In fact this is one of the tactics which are used to fool “useful idiots”. Your statement doesn’t make sense, especially when you should already know my position on many issues. However, I do not allow my position and desires to fool me into accepting lies even if they reinforce my team.
    Laura Said:

Spare me your conspiracy theories. You sound like alex jones.

regarding alex jones whom i understand is an anti semite: I would like to see clandestine squads which roam the globe giving accidents to anti semites. Where is it that I mentioned a conspiracy theory? Do you consider my questioning of govt statements to resemble conspiracy talk? You yourself have often alleged conspiracy on Obamas part to establish his agenda. In my view, anyone who is not skeptical of the govt, especially in today’s times, is an idiot or an ignoramus.
The amount of evidence which has established that the govt lies is beyond question. Just the most recent cover ups , lies and scandals should make this clear. Do you believe the govt did not lie and cover up in Benghazi and is still lying? Do you believe that the govt is not lying wrt the IRS targeting being a political operation? Do you believe that Obama and his party did not knowingly employ illegal tactics such as acorn to accomplish his presidency? Do you believe the govt has not been arming the Jihadis in Syria from libya and training jihadis in Jordan in collaboration with Saudi Arabia and qatar who control the jihadis? Are you not skeptical of the govts story re the FBI having knowledge of the bombers, questioning them, being warned by the russians and yet being clueless as to their movements? Do you not believe that blackwater craft had uniformed personnel at the boston bomb site with bomb sniffing dogs and announced there was to be a bombing drill?
    Laura Said:

The jihadi is gone, good riddance.

You may be right, and if he i a Jihadi i agree with you. However, I do not allow my desire to see dead jihadis extra-judicially executed to cloud my ability to ascertain facts.
    Laura Said:

If the FBI is guilty of anything, it is in treading too carefully when it comes to muslims. They go out of their way not to antagonize them.

    I agree with this statement.
    Laura Said:

….So I’m certain there was a legitimate reason to shoot him

this is not a logical conclusion from the premise.. It is an emotional conclusion which causes you to accept any set of facts which reinforce your general views. The same govt which put in obama, which allied with the jihadis, which is either lying or incompetent in Boston, who go out of their way not to antagonized muslims just shot this muslim in questionable circumstances. You may buy what your govt tells you but I must question their actions and their motives when their story thus far has holes. I want the holes filled, I do not want to stick my head in the sand. I do not believe they are suddenly against the muslims, or for justice, or for the jews, or on the side of the jews against the muslims. I dont give them that much credit. it may be as they say but there is enough stated to bring it into question. If it was an extra judicial killing it is more likely to be a cover up than wanting to kill a jihadi.
Let me be clear about my postion on various things so as to avoid innacurate statements in the future: I am for the annexation of the entire west bank and the transfer of the arabs unilaterally across any hostile border. I beleive that the only way to restore justice to the jewish people is with transfer. I would be for a limitation on muslim immigration and a program to deport any muslim rabble rouser. I would get muslims out of positions of influence in institutions or govt. I do not feel any need to apologize for my positions nor do I feel a need to invent facts which support my position. I view Islam as a mind controlling cult and would implement procedures which treats it accordingly.
I notice that many posters confuse what they would like to see happen with what is likely to happen. They allow their judgement regarding the accuracy of facts to be colored by their political position. I do not have a political opinion based on an ideology. I come to conclusions based upon my interpretation of the facts at hand, sometimes they affirm part of one ideology,or another or neither.

  17. @ Bernard Ross:

What happened to the concept of DETAINED FOR QUESTIONING?

Just by reading your link a few questions come to mind. I would think that the suspect would be detained for questioning in a secure sterile police environment. At the same time a suspect should be at least searched for any possible weapons on his person. Since when do written confessions occur outside of a Law enforcement facility where they are today always filmed. I don’t know how many FBI agents were present but they were according to reports accompanied by State troopers and the numbers of agents and troopers not stated in the reports.

What pressure might have been used to extract such a confession of guilt where the suspect was not apparently Mirandized and advised of his rights even if he was not an American citizen which is not clear from the scanty reports details?

I would think that with all the law enforcement present that shooting the suspect might seem excessive when he might have been restrained by all of the Law-enforcement personnel with the suspect.

Even if true, the story put out is full of holes and at best shows total incompetence of the FBI and State Troopers involved. Reminds me of Jack Ruby…?

  18. Bernard, its not hard to believe that a murdering savage violently attacked an FBI agent. Spare me your conspiracy theories. You sound like alex jones. The jihadi is gone, good riddance. I can’t believe you are defending someone involved in the murder of Jews. Despite ongoing scandals, I still support our law enforcement officers over muslim jihadis. If the FBI is guilty of anything, it is in treading too carefully when it comes to muslims. They go out of their way not to antagonize them. So I’m certain there was a legitimate reason to shoot him.

  19. shot dead by an FBI officer last night while preparing to sign a confession to playing a role in the gruesome slaying of three Jewish men back in 2011, according to investigators cited by NBC. The Chechen man Ibragim Todashev, 27 was being interviewed by law enforcement officers in his Orlando, Florida condo when he is said to have turned violent, pulling a knife on an agent.

    http://www.algemeiner.com/2013/05/22/friend-of-boston-bomber-shot-dead-while-confessing-to-gruesome-triple-jewish-homicide/

The man shot dead by an FBI agent in Orlando, Florida early today was “about to sign a statement” admitting to a role, along with Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev, in an unsolved triple murder in Massachusetts in 2011,…… “just went crazy,” and pulled a knife during his interview with the FBI,….

    http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/fbi-shoots-florida-man-linked-boston-marathon-bombing/story?id=19231642#.UZ4d9rW1HOV
I thought confessions were signed in a police station, not on the road, or in suspects condo’s. Apparently they just had the confession on them just in case it was needed.

…another person who was also interviewed by the FBI that same day claims that Todashev had feared that the FBI was going to shoot him. –

Perhaps its all those recent lies and scandals making me so cynical and untrusting: benghazi, IRS,boston bombing FBI prior involvement and russian warnings, etc etc etc

  20. And this is why Tsarnaev went back to Chechnya for a while – to lay low – he did NOT go back and then get converted to Jihadism there as some leftist obfuscating news sources claim – – he became a Jihadist in the US and was already committing Jihadist acts.
