Boom: US Intelligence Concludes China’s Government is Lying About Coronavirus Infections and Deaths

Boom: US Intelligence Concludes China's Government is Lying About Coronavirus Infections and Deaths

It’s beyond obvious that they’ve been lying, and it looks like the facade is starting to crumble internally, too. Let’s start with a reminder of how preposterous the ‘official’ stats have been. This chart depicts how Hong Kong — an island of openness that moved aggressively against Coronavirus in its early stages, with a fair amount of success — supposedly accounts for a wildly disproportionate number of China’s total active cases. The only logical conclusion here is that the mainland numbers are scandalously underreported, as underscored by the heavy sarcasm in this tweet:

Alan Cole
?@AlanMCole

As we all know, there are two regions in China:

– The well-organized mainland, which has about 0.05 cases per million, and

– The dopey goofball region of Hong Kong, known for its deep incompetence, which despite being <1% of the population has 20% of the reported active cases.

The Wuhan Coronavirus is rising precipitously in Hong Kong, but in mainland China — where the disease originated (this is interesting and I’d like to learn more about it) — it’s just a smooth flattened curve down to almost no cases. Who in their right mind believes this charade? Certainly not the American intelligence community, which has reportedly determined what almost everyone strongly suspected to be the case:<

China has concealed the extent of the coronavirus outbreak in its country, under-reporting both total cases and deaths it’s suffered from the disease, the U.S. intelligence community concluded in a classified report to the White House, according to three U.S. officials. The officials asked not to be identified because the report is secret and declined to detail its contents. But the thrust, they said, is that China’s public reporting on cases and deaths is intentionally incomplete. Two of the officials said the report concludes that China’s numbers are fake…Stacks of thousands of urns outside funeral homes in Hubei province have driven public doubt in Beijing’s reporting.

Apparently, not even some Chinese government officials are able to maintain the deadly farce at this stage:

China revs its engine to move past coronavirus, but it’s stuck in second gear

The Chinese Government issued a new order today restricting resumption of team sports, a heavy blow for pro basketball to return there soon as was planned. China’s attempt to restart sports are being watched closely by leagues across the world. Huge issue is asymptomatic carriers
They’re clawing back alleged “progress,” even as their formal stats depict a near-perfect, near-universal recovery. The mismatch is glaring and speaks for itself. And Beijing is starting to make minor confessions about the nature of their under-count:

Underscoring the difficulties of capturing the extent of the pandemic, China said more than 1,500 people who were infected with the virus but haven’t shown symptoms weren’t included in its national tally of confirmed cases…Chang Jile, a top Chinese health official, said the country would report the number of infected people who aren’t showing symptoms beginning Wednesday.

Anyone who is credulously sharing charts “proving” that America’s response to COVID-19 is ‘the worst’ in the world without adjusting for population size, and while accepting China’s internal data, should not be taken seriously. It’s embarrassing:

Twitter has been suspending and chiding American political commentators and figures (generally of one ideological persuasion) for spreading Coronavirus misinformation, while others get a pass. What I’m really curious about is how CCP mouthpieces continue to be permitted to spread straight-up propaganda while certain American users are policed more aggressively. And it’s not just Chinese government apparatchiks, either; it’s “journalists” within their state-run media operations:

So straight-up CCP propaganda is allowed on @Twitter, but American media personalities (generally of one political stripe) get suspended over content deemed to be misinformation? https://twitter.com/huxijin_gt/status/1245049217665519616

COVID-19 deaths in the US have exceeded the number of China. It is solely caused by US govt’s mishandling. Wuhan imposed a lockdown on Jan. 23, sending a clear warning. The US only had 1 confirmed case then and there was time. Trump administration has failed the American people.

1,761 people are talking about this<

Let’s be clear about China’s indisputable culpability in all of this. They covered-up the existence and nature of the virus, lied about it, punished dissenters and whistleblowers, and blamed the US military. The lies have continued. And their early denials, deflections and misinformation had lasting effects on the global response (aided, outrageously, by the World Health Organization):

Chuck Ross

WHO accepted China’s numbers and came to the conclusion that coronavirus was not being spread by asymptomatic carriers. Surely that shaped the response to the pandemic by giving a false sense that the virus could be contained. https://dailycaller.com/2020/03/31/chinese-government-underreporting-coronavirus/

Chinese Government Finally Acknowledges Underreporting Coronavirus Cases

The Chinese government will begin counting coronavirus patients without symptoms in its official tally of cases of the virus.

A tweet from January has many questioning why the World Health Organization blindly shared what may have been Chinese propaganda about the coronavirus. The COVID-19 virus outbreak is believed to have started in Wuhan, China, in December. In mid-January, the WHO tweeted a study that was made public by the Chinese Communist Party, claiming that humans could not spread the coronavirus to one another. “Preliminary investigations conducted by the Chinese authorities have found no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) identified in Wuhan, China,” the organization tweeted on Jan. 14.

Dr. Deborah Birx politely but clearly pointed a finger at China’s opacity during Tuesday’s grim press briefing, as she and Dr. Anthony Fauci each pushed back against questions blaming the US for tardy responsiveness to the pandemic:

Dr. Fauci pushes back at Acosta questions around the U.S. not acting early. “In a perfect world, it would have been nice to have known what was happening there (in China). We didn’t. But I believe, Jim, that we acted very early.”

This does not absolve American officials for failing to act early enough, or downplaying the threat for too long — as people like President Trump and Mayor DeBlasio (and many in the now-indignant news media) unquestionably did. Accountability at home matters a great deal. But the greatest human single, by far, force behind the rapid spread of this pandemic is the Communist government of China. Period.

1. “The Trump administration received its first formal notification of the outbreak of the coronavirus in China on Jan. 3. Within days, U.S. spy agencies were signaling the seriousness of the threat to Trump by including a warning about the coronavirus — the first of many — in the President’s Daily Brief.”
See, you have to give “the US spy agencies” enough credit!

2. My take on this.
Part 5.
Based on the above and on the circumstantial evidence of the October 2019 “coronavirus” exercise (OK, it wasn’t the same coronavirus – they would be complete idiots to use the same coronavirus, wouldn’t they?), the list of the major donors to the WHO, etc., it is clear TO ME, at least, who would be the major beneficiary of this pandemic or “pandemic” (who knows – China certainly treated it as a serious threat, building hospitals, etc.)
I think it is ludicrous to assert that China decided to commit a “murder-suicide” by blowing up its own and the world’s economy.
I already posted elsewhere that the US government CANNOT (yet) FORCE the manufacturing to come back from China, it can only try to ENTICE it to come back.
To my mind, the only way to do it is to offer a cheaper than the Chinese, impoverished labor force with the almost complete absence of environmental protection laws and to make China unattractive to investors.

3. My take on this.
Part 4.
The rise of China as the world factory to the point of becoming the world’s 2nd largest economy was encouraged and promoted by the US and the West (China even received awards from the UN for its achievements) and not a word was said about the CCP, or “chicoms”, or dictatorship by anyone until the sudden discovery of “the horribly deadly and purposely hidden by China novel coronavirus”.
I think that it was clearly obvious to the powers that be a few years ago (before Trump was “elected”) that China grew “too big for her britches”, that the US debts became completely unsustainable and unpayable, that the population was aging and applying for Social Security, that ~20 million illegals had to be supported by all sorts of government benefits, and, last but not least, that (possibly) the profit margins of those businesses that moved to China are narrowing down and the demand for their goods is falling.
It is possible also that we were heading into a major recession or depression in any case.

4. My take on this.
Part 3.
The tax cuts only benefited the rich and it is well known that the largest corporations pay very little taxes.
“There’s class warfare, all right,” Mr. Buffett said, “but it’s my class, the rich class, that’s making war, and we’re winning.”
https://www.nytimes.com/2006/11/26/business/yourmoney/26every.html?_r=2&
The US has been using its huge federal debt (other people’s money which can never be repaid) to further its geopolitical ambitions and invest in its military-industrial complex (among other things).
Also, the fact that the US $ is the world currency doesn’t hurt, however, there have been efforts by some countries to avoid the $ and trade in their local currencies instead.
Essentially, at this point, if the US didn’t have this debt money to play with, it would be a 3rd world country.

5. My take on this.
Part 2.
By the 1990s most of the US manufacturing left for China and some other 3rd world countries because of the very cheap labor available there and the absence or the near absence of environmental protection laws.
Why? Because of the much wider profit margins that the manufacturers were able to obtain.
We were told that the US entered a new, higher stage called “service economy”.
Starting in the early 90s (after the USSR turned into the FSU), the American hi-tech employees started being replaced with immigrants from India who were paid $15.00/hr vs. $45.00 that Americans were paid. Then the Indians and the Russians started working these jobs directly from their countries and getting paid in local currencies instead of $$.
Later the same methods were employed for the phone-in customer service jobs.
The long-term and full-time employment with benefits, private pensions, etc. gradually largely disappeared.
Medical insurance was reduced to HMOs and PPOs.

6. Here is my take on this, and I will try to make it short or in parts because I don’t want it to be “moderated”.
Part 1.
The level of the US federal debt and the private debts owed by the US households (cars, homes, store credit cards, student debts, etc.) were already known to be unsustainable a few years ago.
The US federal debt is ~$23 trillion and counting. Several years ago I saw the info online that if you add the federal and the household (cars, homes, etc.) debt, it will equal ~$100 trillion (this information I can no longer find but it seems a lot more credible than what they show online now).
Needless to say, these debts can never be repaid.

7. I don’t agree with Global Research’s allegations that the Trump administration was behind the disinformation campaign. No do I believe that the Chinese government played no role at all in this campaign, or that it was the intended target of the campaign. However, believe the information in Global Research’s “Timeline” is accurate. I have found confirmation of much of it in other sources.

Plainly there is a disinformation campaign, and numerous governments and NGO’s (“non-governmental organizations,” with close connections to governments) are implicated in it. That includes the U.S., the EU, China, and probably others.

8. “COVID-19 Coronavirus “Fake” Pandemic: Timeline and Analysis

Background

On January 30th 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) in relation to China’s novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) categorized as a viral pneumonia. The virus outbreak was centred in Wuhan, a city in Eastern China with a population in excess of 11 million.

In the week prior to January 30th decision, the WHO Emergency Committee “expressed divergent views”. There were visible divisions within the Committee. On January 30th, a far-reaching decision was taken without the support of expert opinion at a time when the coronavirus outbreak was limited to Mainland China.

There were 150 confirmed cases outside China, when the decision was taken. 6 in the United States, 3 in Canada, 2 in the UK, etc.

150 confirmed cases over a population of 6.4 billion (World population of 7.8 billion minus China’s 1-4 billion).

What was the risk of being infected? Virtually zero.

The WHO did not act to reassure and inform World public opinion. Quite the opposite: A “Fear Pandemic” rather than a genuine Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) was launched.

Outright panic and uncertainty were sustained through a carefully designed media disinformation campaign.

Almost immediately this led to economic dislocations, a crisis in trade and transportation with China affecting major airlines and shipping companies. A hate campaign against ethnic Chinese in Western countries was launched, followed by the collapse in late February of stock markets, not to mention the crisis in the tourist industry resulting in countless bankruptcies.

The complexity of this crisis and its impacts have to be addressed and carefully analysed.

What we are dealing with is “economic warfare” supported by media disinformation, coupled with the deliberate intent by the Trump administration to undermine China’s economy. The ongoing economic dislocations are not limited to China.

There are important public health concerns which must be addressed. But what motivated the Director-General of the WHO to act in this way? Who was behind this historic January 30th decision of the WHO’s Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

Our subsequent analysis (in the timeline below) reveals that powerful corporate interests linked to Big Pharma, Wall Street and agencies of the US government were instrumental in the WHO’s far-reaching decision.

What is at stake is the alliance of “Big Pharma” and “Big Money”, with the endorsement of the Trump Administration. The decision to launch a fake pandemic under the helm of the WHO on January 30, was taken a week earlier at the Davos World Economic Forum (WEF). The media operation was there to spread outright panic.

(Scroll down to Read our Timeline on how these events unfolded)

But this was not the first time that the WHO decided to act in this way.

Remember the unusual circumstances surrounding the April 2009 H1N1 Swine Flu Pandemic.

An atmosphere of fear and intimidation prevailed. The data was manipulated.

Based on incomplete and scanty data, the WHO Director General nonetheless predicted with authority that: “as many as 2 billion people could become infected over the next two years — nearly one-third of the world population.” (World Health Organization as reported by the Western media, July 2009).

It was a multibillion bonanza for Big Pharma supported by the WHO’s Director-General Margaret Chan.

In June 2009, Margaret Chan made the following statement:

“On the basis of … expert assessments of the evidence, the scientific criteria for an influenza pandemic have been met. I have therefore decided to raise the level of influenza pandemic alert from Phase 5 to Phase 6. The world is now at the start of the 2009 influenza pandemic. … Margaret Chan, Director-General, World Health Organization (WHO), Press Briefing 11 June 2009)

What “expert assessments”?

In a subsequent statement she confirmed that:

“Vaccine makers could produce 4.9 billion pandemic flu shots per year in the best-case scenario”,Margaret Chan, Director-General, World Health Organization (WHO), quoted by Reuters, 21 July 2009)

A financial windfall for Big Pharma Vaccine Producers including GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis, Merck & Co., Sanofi, Pfizer. et al.

CORONAVIRUS TIMELINE

September 2019: The official US-WHO position is that the coronavirus originated in Wuhan, Hubei Province and was first discovered in Late December. This statement is questioned by Chinese and Japanese virologists who claim that the virus originated in the US.

A renowned Taiwanese virologist pointed to evidence that the virus could have originated at an earlier stage, stating : “We must look to September of 2019”.

October 18-27 2019: Wuhan 2019: CISM Sport Military World Games

Chinese media intimates (without corroborating evidence) that the coronavirus could have been brought to China “from a foreign source” during the CISM Military World Games.

200 American military personnel participated in this 10 day Event.

October 18, Event 201. Baltimore. Coronavirus nCoV-2019 Simulation and Emergency Preparedness Task Force, John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Health Security.

Big Pharma-Big Money Simulation Exercise sponsored by WEF and Gates Foundation

Simulation Exercise of a coronavirus epidemic which results in 65 million dead. Supported by the World Economic Forum (WEF) representing the interests of Financial institutions, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation representing Big Pharma:

In October 2019, the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security hosted a pandemic tabletop exercise called Event 201 with partners, the World Economic Forum and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. … For the scenario, we modeled a fictional coronavirus pandemic, but we explicitly stated that it was not a prediction.

Instead, the exercise served to highlight preparedness and response challenges that would likely arise in a very severe pandemic. We are not now predicting that the nCoV-2019 outbreak will kill 65 million people.

Although our tabletop exercise included a mock novel coronavirus, the inputs we used for modeling the potential impact of that fictional virus are not similar to nCoV-2019.“We are not now predicting that the nCoV-2019 [which was also used as the name of the simulation] outbreak will kill 65 million people.

.Although our tabletop exercise included a mock novel coronavirus, the inputs we used for modeling the potential impact of that fictional virus are not similar to nCoV-2019.”

Several of the occurrences of the nCoV-2019 exercise coincided with what really happened.

In the Event 201 Simulation of a Coronavirus Pandemic, a 15% collapse of financial markets had been “simulated”.

It was not “predicted” according to the organizers and sponsors of the event.

Private sector initiative. Participation of corporate execs, foundations, financial institutions, Banks, Big Pharma, CIA, CDC, No health officials on behalf of national governments or the WHO. The simulation exercise was held on the same day as the opening of the CISM World Militaty Sports Games in Wuhan.

December 31, 2019: First cases of pneumonia detected and reported in Wuhan, Hubei Province. China.

January 1, 2020: Chinese health authorities close the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market after Western media reports that wild animals sold there may have been the source of the virus. This initial assessment was subsequently refuted by Chinese scientists.

January 7, 2020: Chinese authorities “identify a new type of virus” which was isolated on 7 January. The coronavirus was named 2019-nCoV by the WHO exactly the same name as that adopted in the WEF-Gates-John Hopkins October 18, 2019 simulation exercise.

January 11, 2020 – The Wuhan Municipal Health Commission announces the first death caused by the coronavirus.

January 22, 2020: WHO. Members of the WHO Emergency Committee “expressed divergent views on whether this event constitutes a PHEIC or not”.

January 21-24, 2020: Consultations at the World Economic Forum, Davos, Switzerland under auspices of the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) for development of a vaccine program. CEPI is a WEF-Gates partnership. With support from CIPI, Seattle based Moderna will manufacture an mRNA vaccine against 2019-nCoV, “The Vaccine Research Center (VRC) of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of NIH, collaborated with Moderna to design the vaccine.”

Note: The development of a 2019 nCoV vaccine was announced at Davos, 2 weeks after the January 7, 2020 announcement, and barely a week prior to the official launching of the WHO’s Worldwide Public Health emergency on January 30. The WEF-Gates-CEPI Vaccine Announcement precedes the WHO Public Health Emergency (PHEIC).

January 30, 2020: Geneva: WHO Director General determines that the outbreak constitutes a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). This decision was taken on the basis of 150 confirmed cases outside China, First case of person to person transmission in US is reported, 6 cases in the US, 3 cases in Canada, 2 in the UK.

The WHO Director General had the backing of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Big Pharma and the World Economic Forum (WEF). There are indications that the decision for the WHO to declare a Global Emergency was taken on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos (January 21-24) overlapping with the Geneva January 22 meeting of the Emergency Committee.

Both WHO’s Director Tedros as well as Bill Gates were present at Davos 2020. Bill Gates announced the Gates Foundation’s $10 billion commitment to vaccines over the next 10 years.”

9. @ Reader: Reader, thanks for this important information about the Johns Hopkins University conference. I think we have to begin connecting the dots. First there is a conference of economic bigwigs from around the world, led by and financed by Bill Gates, who conduct an exercise to find out what a coronavirus pandemic would be like. About two months later, China reports the discovery of a new, deadly coronavirus, and at the same time says it is facing an epidemic causes by it in Hubei province. About a month after that, WHO declares a worldwide pandemic. And low and behold, who does the USG and WHO award the contract to trace the worldwide pandemic and issue regular reports of the number of cases,–none other than Johns Hopkins University Medical Center! John Hopkins University is awarded the contract to report on a pandemic less than three months after it had hosted a conference of economic “experts” who had conducted a “tabletop exercise” on the likely consequences of such a pandemic–at a time when there were noreports that such a pandemic was on the horizon!

This is clear evidence of an international conspiracy to fake a worldwide pandemic, with John Hopkins University at its “epicenter,” and whoever the people were who gathered at that conference, and whoever finances John Hopkins, as the prime movers.

Reader, can you help us find out more about who attended this conference, what their professional or business backgrounds were, where they came from? That could help us uncover who instigated and is managing the supposed pandemic, and why.

10. “According to the latest WHO data published in 2017 Influenza and Pneumonia Deaths in Italy reached 13,823 or 2.61% of total deaths. The age adjusted Death Rate is 8.15 per 100,000 of population ranks Italy #175 in the world.” From the site worldlifeexpectancy .com. Even now, thisis a higher death number than those deaths in Italy that have been attributed this year to “coronavirus.”

11. @ Shmuel Mohalever:
“The Chinese media, including their English-language media were the first media to report the pandemic.”
1) Please give a link to the report
2) The Chinese or any other media can say anything they want – no one has to to believe them but the WHO is the official authority that declared the pandemic on 03-11-20 and that is when the lockdowns really started and it is financed (among others) by the people who conducted the coronavirus pandemic exercise in October 2019.

12. “Bergamo Mayor Giorgio Gori said on Wednesday he does not trust the official figures and thinks the real toll may be twice as high.

The mayor tweeted a newspaper analysis suggesting that the COVID-19 toll in the Bergamo province was “between 4,500 and 5,000, and not the 2,060” officially reported.

The explanation may be that Italy’s count of 115,242 cases is also incomplete, with estimates of the real number ranging from 400,000 to six million.

The explanation may be that Italy’s count of 115,242 cases is also incomplete, with estimates of the real number ranging from 400,000 to six million.

The mayor also cited analysis showing that 26 percent of Bergamo province’s population may have contracted the virus.

If as many as 6 million people in Italy have the CoSARS19-2 virus in their systems, which is very possible if this is a rapidly spreading virus like cold viruses, even if more deadly than other cold viruses, then the actual ratio of infections to deaths, assuming that Mayor Gori is correct that the total death toll is twice what has been reported,it is still only 22,000 deaths to six million infections. That comes to about .004 percent of those infected dying.

13. ‘I’m scared’: Johns Hopkins expert says coronavirus is totally unprecedented

One of the world’s top pandemic experts says the disaster is unlike anything we’ve seen. The response could be just as historic.

With diagnosed COVID-19 cases passing 1 million worldwide and communities around the globe on lockdown, the coronavirus pandemic has claimed a place as one of the most serious public health crises in living memory, an emergency that pandemic expert Eric Toner says is “unlike anything we’ve seen before.” Toner, of Johns Hopkins University, sat down with CNET’s Claire Reilly to shed light on the scale of what the world is facing.

What we know:

More than 54,000 people have died from COVID-19, the illness caused by the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2).

The US has the highest number of cases, outstripping China, where the virus originated, as well as secondary outbreak zones in Italy and Spain. The current global count: more than 1 million infections.

Latest Counts:

Coronavirus Cases: 1,095,904

Deaths: 58,814

The disease very highly contagious! Many physicians and scientists are scared as this is not going away fast enough and people keep dying and will keep dying in larger numbers.

14. @ Reader: Obviously, Reader, one reason for disseminating the false reports of the pandemic was to force Trump to remove the tariffs.

15. “Why is Italy’s fatality rate so high?

From the offical figures, it appears that the fatalty rate in Italy is around 12 percent.

“That’s a nearly impossible number;” [Bergamo Mayor Georgio]Villa told Al Jazeera in a television interview on Thursday.

“We know from other research that the number of people who die are about one percent of those infected,” he said. “So there’s something strange going on. Everyone’s asking if Italy is special in any way, in terms of why people are dying so much.”

“The simple answer is, clearly not,” he said. “We are not testing enough people.”

These figures have been overestimated throughout the crisis, according to Nino Cartabellotta, a leading Italian public health expert, professor, and president of the Gruppo Italiano per la Medicina Basata sulle Evidenze (GIMBE), Italy’s Group for Evidence-based Medicine.

Analysis by GIMBE of the official data appears to show that the mortality rate in Italy has long been well above average.

Cartabellotta told The Local this rough figure is “undoubtedly overestimated” as “we’re only seeing the tip of the iceberg”.

16. @ Reader: The Chinese media, including their English-language media were the first media to report the pandemic. Reports in the press, which in China are government-controlled, is a form of announcement. And it was China who first reported the alleged pandemic to WHO. As for WHO ,Jim Hoft in Gateway Pundit has documented it director’s director’s long-standing relationship with the Chinese government.

” the original lie, which was spread by China”
If you mean the “pandemic” declaration, that lie was spread by WHO on 03-11-20.
See my above comment on who finances the WHO.
Essentially, the US TARIFFS ON CHINA AND THE EU screwed up their economies and it had to be covered up, etc., etc.
We’ll never know the true aims of the “”big boys” but it is NOT China who benefits from this.

19. @ Shmuel Mohalever:

THE US TARIFFS SLOWED DOWN THE EUROPEAN ECONOMY STARTING IN OCTOBER, 2019.
China’s economy “collapsed” IN FEBRUARY because of the coronavirus NOT in October or November.

21. @ yamit82:
My answer to you was too long and is “awaiting moderation”. I’ll try to split it up.
Part 1.
“China’s industrial output grew significantly slower than expected in October, as weakness in global and domestic demand and the drawn-out Sino-U.S. trade war weighed on activity in the world’s second-largest economy.
Industrial production rose 4.7% year-on-year in October, data from the National Bureau of Statistics released on Thursday showed, below the median forecast of 5.4% growth in a Reuters poll.
China’s economic growth slowed to its weakest pace in almost three decades in the third quarter as the bruising U.S. trade war hit factory production.
The tariff war between China and the United States has hit global demand, disrupted supply chains and upended financial markets.
fixed asset investment, a key driver of economic growth, grew 5.2% from January-October, against expected growth of 5.4%.
Retail sales rose 7.2% year-on-year in October, missing expected growth of 7.9% and matching the more than 16 year low hit in April.”

Some of these are quotes from major publications (online) in October of 2019 (not from some guy who doesn’t even have a website).
They all say that the slowdown (not collapse) of the Chinese and European economy was caused by the US TARIFFS.
The Financial Times quote says that “China’s economy was brought to an almost total halt in the first half of February by the coronavirus epidemic”
“the government’s official unemployment rate came in at a record high 6.2 per cent in February.” not in October or November “by the coronavirus epidemic”.

23. @ yamit82:
Yes, Yamit. I believe we are experience a fake pandemic manufactured by global conspirators, based in China but including many collaborators in the United States and Europe. The objectives of the conspiracy, as I see it, are 1) to enable China to defeat the United States in the trade war 2) , To obtain government bailouts to many public institutions (such as municipalities and hospital corporations) as well as banks and other financial institutions in China, the United States and Europe, even before the Chinese announced the supposed pandemic. 3) to protect the interests of many American companies that operate factories and/or import many things from China. That includes out pharmaceutical industry, which imports 80% of its pharmaceuticals from China. The Chinese may be blackmailing these companies. 4) to enable some very large corporations with very deep pockets (meaning large cash reserves) that will enable them to ride out the storm, while eliminating their competitors who don’t have large cash reserves. That will enable the “big boys” to increase their profits in the long run by becoming monopolies. 5) Enabling some very big investors like Warren Buffet to gobble up on the cheap some valuable corporations that are temporarily insolvent because of the panic such as airlines, hotel chains, etc., knowing that the government will bail out these industries and make them profitable once the “pandemic” is declared over.

Probably these American and European people were not a party to the original lie, which was spread by China. But once the lie was “out there” and was being taken seriously by the “international community,” these Americans and Europeans with special interests, hopped on the panic bandwagon.

With Its Economy Collapsing, In An ACT OF ECONOMIC WAR, China Dropped the Coronavirus and Destroyed the Entire World Economy
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2020/04/with-its-economy-collapsing-in-an-act-of-economic-war-china-dropped-the-coronavirus-and-destroyed-the-entire-world-economy/

Was the China coronavirus an Act of War? We know China is in an informational and economic war with the US. The unleashing of the China coronavirus destroyed the US economy!
Millions of Americans have lost their jobs. Small and large businesses have been destroyed. American’s life savings, at their peak a few weeks ago, have vanished.

China now has the audacity to complain about the coronavirus being labeled as the ‘China coronavirus’. China even accused the US of starting the virus. Outrageous!

By unleashing the coronavirus and destroying the entire world’s economy, the China regime maintains a hold over the people in China and claims its economic woes are due to the coronavirus. The regime can also say it is no worse than all the other countries around the world.

US media and politicians who repeat China’s talking points are creating treason and should be treated as such.

This clearly was an economic Act of War and should be treated as such. China should pay for this debacle and apologize to the US and the world.

26. @ Shmuel Mohalever:
“China withheld information about the severity of the coronavirus”
It is impossible to withhold information that ONE DOES NOT YET HAVE. Also, I suspect that once the Chinese saw that they have many cases of unknown origin, they didn’t want to freak out their huge population until they had an explanation. If the US wanted to know the details, why then the information wasn’t formally requested?
After all there was a (tabletop) coronavirus pandemic exercise conducted in the US in October of 2019 which means there was some concern about this kind of event happening:
https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=Event+201
(It DID NOT predict 65 million victims like some said.)

27. Speaking only for myself, I always base the opinions I express on this site, however unusual or controversial they may be, of genuine research that I have done on the internet. I try to identify my sources, and often quote them.

Many people think that China withheld information about the severity of the coronavirus. I am when one of the few individuals who believe the opposite: that China misled the world into thinking they were having a terible health crisis when they probably only having a normal flu season ,or a slightly worse than usual one. Also, they convinced the whole world that the new, or “novel” coronavirus they some of their medical researchers had discovered was a devastating plague, as bad as the bubonic plague, when in reality it is probably only a run-of-the-mill virus, no more or less dangerous than the four previously discovered coronaviruses viruses that cause the common cold.

At worst, it might be as bad as the SARS and MERS viruses, which wore thought by disease-control people to quite deadly, but caused a much lower rate of “reported” deaths than CoV-SARS-2. Neither of these two viruses, however ,caused China, WHO or the U.S CDC to declare a pandemic and close down the world. The lower number of “reported” cases for these two earlier, possibly related coronaviruses may simply have been that no one was working hard very hard to collect reports of cases, and doctors weren’t being pressured to report the virus to the disease-control bureaucracies . Probably the reason was that none of the world’s great powers made a public fuss about the SARS and MERS viruses, while China, one of the great powers, both military and economic, did make a very big fuss about CoSARS-19-2.

” the Middle Kingdom is far from clear of danger.”
Is it possible that trying to contain or slow down a virus (any virus once it hits a human population) is an exercise in futility (especially in urban areas)?

I am not a censor but wild unsubstantiated opinions should be challenged. Put up or shut up!!!!

“Reader may not be the only culprit in this matter”.
I find this insulting because it is completely untrue and baseless.
What do you mean by “public service announcement”?
Yamit basically called me a LIAR (which is a libel, and you confirmed it and also accused someone else on this site of being a liar) )and you are thankful for this? You are calling this a “public service announcement”?
You yourself admitted that China didn’t have the test kits to identify all the cases (I asked a question about this and you answered it in the affirmative).
Amazing!

Thank you, Yamit, for your public service announcement. Reader may not be the only culprit in this matter. Thank you, Joe Friday.

Trying to get the truth out of China is like getting blood out of a turnip. There isn’t a flow, by any means, but we do get a drop here and there. I am interested in seeing that drop, because I have dear family there.

Concerning test kits, Reader and Steven, I doubt that the local Wuhan authorities had enough in January, or even February, to discover the depth of the danger. More likely, they were so concerned about looking bad to an increasingly autocratic Xi regime, that they didn’t ask for more.

It looks as though the Middle Kingdom is far from clear of danger. A county of some 600,000 residents is again under lockdown, and hundreds of movie theaters have been re-closed:

https://www.westernjournal.com/china-can-no-longer-hide-resurging-virus-places-county-lockdown/

36. @ stevenl:
They were “favoring” China because it suited their needs.
It no longer does, so they are throwing China under the bus.
It is “who are we now friends with against”?
The EU suited their needs for decades, now it doesn’t – well, let’s break up the EU, etc.
The “satellite evidences” are ALWAYS available – so how come no one noticed them in January?
I have to ask again:
DID CHINA HAVE THE TEST KITS SEVERAL MONTHS AGO TO FIND AND COUNT THE ASYMPTOMATIC CASES (which it allegedly “HID” and which it is going to start counting now which will be totally useless because most of the country will have the virus as is usual with viruses but this fact will be used against China to “show how many cases it “hid”” ).

37. There must be satellites evidences!
The whole of W DC was favoring China!!! Against the American people. That is what kleptocrats are about!

38. Ted, please detrash the message I just posted about just what the Chinese, as well as the US and EU, are lying about. I think it is worth looking at. Thanks.

39. Unquestionably the Chinese have told many lies and withheld a great deal of information from the public. But they are not the only ones who have done this. The U.S. and the EU countries are equally guilty.

The reality is that not only in China, but int the United States and the EU countries as well, had motives for declaring a pandemic that had nothing to do with public health. In all of these countries, over-extension of credit to people and corporations who couldn’t pay back their loans had led led some financial analysts and advisers to predict for years that a severe crash was inevitably coming. Just looking at the United States: numerous state and local governments were bankrupt and could not meet their obligations to their citizens for months or years before the pandemic was declared. That included the entire state of California, our most populous state. Many banks had extended loans to companies and individuals who couldn’t pay them back. Many Wall Street firms had invested their clients, money in “junk bonds” which were “nonperforming” and could not be repaid, which threatended these investment-managing firms and their numerous clients with insolvency. Many hospitals and school districts all accross the country were in desperate financial trouble.

The supposed pandemic provided cover for a massive Federal bailout of the public sectors and some parts of the private sector that was desperately needed before anyone even heard of COVID-19. The public and Congress was willing to accept a vast “stimulus package” to bail out these institutions, who would never have agreed to such a bailout under “normal” conditions.

40. “U.S. officials initially responded to coronavirus outbreak way that they did… …*BECAUSE* “we were missing a significant amount of the data” from China”.
Where was the US intelligence then? Why didn’t they give the US the data that was “missing from China”?
They were put asleep by the Chinese and now they woke up to discover that China lied and hid data from the US?
China reported the virus to WHO on 12-31-19 and identified the virus’ genome by 01-06-20.
President Trump ordered the China travel ban on 01-31-20.
The article says that China will now start counting “coronavirus patients without symptoms”. Did they have the test kits back in January so they could identify and count coronavirus patients without symptoms?
Are they gearing up for a “just” war on China or something? After everyone loses their job because of the “pandemic” induced depression and the only way to survive will be to enlist? In order to cover up the US COVID-19 task force’s incompetence? Or to kill the creditor to whom they owe a couple of trillion $$?
