1. 1950’s Anticommunist films like those in the Big Jim series starring John Wayne portrayed wealthy Communists plotting to poison America’s water supply and other nefarious deeds as they lounged around their luxurious waterfront bungalos.    Her home was barricaded up Tuesday, with officers posted inside, as a group of protesters gathered at the fences. A police source told DailyMail.com they had taken precautions to prevent the home being wrecked. Potter, who has two adult sons, lives at the property with her husband, a former Fridley police officer.

   They are all understood to have left the home late last night after the address was posted to social media.

   About 90 minutes before the 10pm local time curfew deadline, police declared protests outside the Brooklyn Center police station to be an unlawful assembly; pepper spray and flash bombs were used by officers in an attempt to disperse the crowd while demonstrators used umbrellas as shields.

   Curfews had been in place for Brooklyn Center, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Crystal, Columbia Heights, New Hope and Maple Grove from 10pm local time, KSTP reports. Police said at least 60 people were arrested Tuesday night.

   Protests also broke out overnight Tuesday in New York, Philadelphia and Chicago. In Portland officials declared a riot for the second night in a row.

   Minnesota State Patrol Colonel Matt Langer said at a midnight press conference: ‘As the evening unfolded, the event devolved.’ Officials said bricks and cans were thrown at cops.

   There were no reports of looting Tuesday.

   About 90 minutes before the curfew deadline, authorities announced over a loudspeaker that the gathering had been declared unlawful and ordered the crowds to disperse. That quickly set off confrontations, with protesters shaking the fence and throwing objects at police, who responded with flashbang and gas grenades.

   ‘You are hereby ordered to disperse,’ the announcement said, warning that anyone not leaving would be arrested.

   The number of protesters dropped rapidly over the next hour.

   The unrest had continued for a second night Monday just hours after the Hennepin County medical examiner ruled Wright’s death as a homicide and said the cause was a gunshot wound to the chest.

   Gannon was the one who revealed during a tense press conference a day earlier that Wright’s death was the result of ‘accidental discharge’ after Potter mistook her taser for a gun.

   Wright was shot dead on Sunday afternoon after he and his girlfriend were pulled over during a traffic stop for what police say was an expired car registration.

   The officers then learned Wright, who has a toddler son, had the outstanding warrant against him.

   Police have said a struggle broke out as they tried to take him into custody after running his name and realizing he had the warrant.

   Authorities have not confirmed the nature of the warrant but court records show Wright was being sought after failing to appear in court last month on misdemeanor charges that he fled from officers and possessed a gun without a permit during an encounter with Minneapolis police last June.

   Wright had choked a woman and threatened to shoot her if she did not hand over $820 she had stuffed in her bra, court papers obtained by DailyMail.com allege.

   He was due to face trial on a charge of attempted aggravated robbery – with a possible maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

   Police released footage of the incident from Potter’s bodycam that showed her and two other officers approaching Wright’s car after he had been pulled over for the traffic stop.

   The footage showed one officer trying to handcuff Wright as a second officer told him he was being arrested on a warrant. Wright immediately jumped back into his car in an apparent attempt to flee.

   A struggle then broke out between the officers and Wright, who was still sitting inside his car.

   ‘I’ll Tase you! I’ll Tase you! Taser! Taser! Taser!’ Potter could be heard shouting in her bodycam video.

   Immediately after, Potter can be heard saying: ‘Holy sh*t. I shot him’.

   Wright managed to drive several blocks before coming to a stop when he hit another car. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his girlfriend, who was a passenger in the car, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
