T. Belman. Unbelievable. What “political echelon” is he referring to? Why would Netanyahu agree to this?

The suspension of operations in Beirut – due to a request from the political echelon, following Biden’s request
The Air Force has not attacked in Beirut for three days, due to a request from the political echelon.
This followed a conversation that took place on Wednesday between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Joe Biden, during which Biden asked to limit operations in the area.
The last operation in Beirut’s southern suburb occurred in the center, where, according to reports and senior officials of the Israeli Defense Forces, a senior Hezbollah operative, who was considered the right-hand man of Hassan Nasrallah, was eliminated in the operation.

@dreuveni
The link should be working now. Thanks for alerting us.
On I24, Israel told, by US, to resolve quickly the Gaza issue or embargo will follow soon.
This is blackmail!
The US is already imposing a partial embargo. Adding insult to injury!
“KAOS”! The preferred US foreign policy M O!
According to thermodynamic principle, “chaos” is the system that consumes the LEAST amount of Energy and therefore the least UN-stable!!!
Ukraine, Gaza and S Lebanon, three examples where this principle is applied.
Taiwan is waiting!

@Ted: your comment,
looks like a badly spelled link. Unfortunately, it doesn’t lead anywhere. It might be “livid” rather than “lived”.

So will we see Beirut targets in this strike?
Ministers lived over halt in strikes in Beirut: We will demand answers from Netanyahu
From TOI
After all the praise Netanyahu got recently, this cannot be allowed to proceed. If Biden can stop the IDF with a phone call, he can get all Israelis killed at the drop of an Iranian bomb. Bibi should tell Joe to get lost (for want of a polite word..).
THAAD will not suffice and at best will cause many deaths elsewhere.
TOI reports;
@Adam
The base in Benyamina was hit from a single drone sent from Lebanon, not unlike many thousands of drones which have been used to target Israel over the past months. I am unconvinced that the success of this attack was related to the delayed response of Israel’s attack on Iran, and notably, Israel has not paused its attacks in Lebanon where the ground incursion is not just ongoing but expanding. As explained in my comment below, Bibi denies Beirut being off limit due to pressure from the US, but we will see what takes place over the next day or so..
Hezbollah has now made use of the “pause” to hit an Israeli air base in Benyamina, causing up to 67 Israeli casualties. Four soldiers killed, and more than 10 “critically” or “seriously” injured. I hope that Israel now ends the “pause,” whatever pressure they are under from Biden-Blinken-Sullivan.

Thanks for your comment. Fingers crossed.

The proof will be in the proving tomorrow. After today’s drone strike in Binyamina, I don’t think there is much chance that Beirut will not be part of the strike package tomorrow, unless this update is false.
