Bennett: Israel should stress her rights

T. Belman. Bennett wants Israel to declare her legal rights to the land, take the TSS off the table and no longer participate in negotiations based on it and finally wants to have a dramatic increase on our Hasbara budgets to about $300 million. I totally agree.

bENNETT3Israel needs to stand up for its rights more forcefully in the international arena, according to Education Minister Naftali Bennett, who said that continued talk of a “two-state solution” actually harmed Israel’s standing abroad.

The Jewish Home party leader spoke today (Tuesday) at a conference entitled “Towards A New Law of War”, held in Jerusalem by “Shurat Hadin”, a human rights organization dedicated to taking legal action against terrorist groups and those who fund them, and called for the establishment of an official government body for combating delegitimization.

“We can’t win the battle if we don’t fight it. This is a struggle for our survival and we don’t allocate enough resources to it like we do for planes, tanks and guns,” Bennett said.

The Education Minister asked the audience to “imagine that only 30% of our tanks worked because we hadn’t invested enough in this area. Imagine that out of every 10 weapons we acquired only 3 would fire smoothly, because of delegitimization.

“This country already has the Shin Bet, the Mossad, and the IDF. It’s time to establish an official body to do battle in the legal, economic, and academic spheres, an institution that will act in an organized fashion – with adequate resources – against delegitimization. Maybe we should allocate some of our resources to this fight? Why should start up nation fight like a dinosaur?”

Regarding the two-state solution, Bennett said, “We need to shift the battlefield. The current front, the two-state solution, is a bad place to be in and fight from.”

“Some people thought the Bar-Ilan speech was good. I disagree,” Bennett continued, referring to Prime Minister Netanyahu’s famous 2013 speech.

“We need to stop talking about insoluble issues and focus on our strengths. We need to move the fight to a sphere that is good for Israel,” claimed the Education Minister.

Bennett added,”Israel is the most threatened country in the world, surrounded on all sides by enemies and terrorist organizations, and we’ve still found a way to live well. Something is working. We strike a good balance between fighting terrorism and respecting human and citizens’ rights. Despite our national pastime of pessimistic whining, we are succeeding.”

“How can we expect the world to speak in our favor and win for us if we don’t do so ourselves? If we stand up for ourselves, the world will respect that. The world respects nations that respect themselves.”

Unbeleivable what the fascist yaalon has wrought in Israel…. he and BB created the duma false flag so that they could incarcerate dissenters, natioanlists, Jews… no different than Pinochet or the argentinge generals….. perhaps a pinochet is needed to hunt down and incarcerate the anti zionist anti jewish left who have filled Israel with hatred of the whole purpose of Jews in Israel. Liberman must prove that he is different from the fascist and immediately release all these falsely incarcerated jews, jailed in order to prop up the duma falsehood.

  2. There is no controversy regarding TSS. Everyone admits it is
dead or at best “not now”. The problem from the Israeli point
of view is where do we go from here. The status quo is a bad
choice simply because it is passive and the enemies are not.
There is no question that the answer must come from ZION.
Bennett’s column is a breath of fresh air among the stale utterances from the Israeli politicos currently in power.
GOI must take positive steps to exert sovereignty over the
land. The two most important are 1)control of the Temple
Mount and 2) annexation of Y & S. To do otherwise is to
futilely engage in an unwinnable dialog with enemies who
are ideologically committed to the destruction of the Jewish
people. Their arguments are based on lies the most glaring
of which is that there is no such thing as the Palestinian
people or a Palestinian state. By giving credence to that
position you can never undermine it. When GOI acts strongly
in its own interest the world will respect Israel and even the pathetic American Jewish Leftists will start to see the
light and get weaned away from the Marxist Democratic Party.
The UN is a lost cause but kol ha kavod to Danny Danon for
his yeoman service. I would be much happier with Napthali
as PM rather than Bibi but my real choice is Moshe Feiglin.

  3. Just as the Muslims cite their Koran as the basis for their “rights” we Jews should also cite our Torah as our divine right to the land. In addition the League of Nations Mandate on Palestine provides our legal rights to the land as already established in international law. Howard Grief and Salomon Benzimra have each provided superb books proving that Israel has total legal rights to the land. It is the Jewish establishment in the U.S. and the Israeli government which refuse to even acknowledge the existence of these studies. Even the ZOA refuses to ever mention these studies.

  4. Israel needs to stand up for its rights more forcefully in the international arena, according to Education Minister Naftali Bennett, who said that continued talk of a “two-state solution” actually harmed Israel’s standing abroad.

True, but more damaging is continued talk in general rather than taking action to demonstrate your own belief in those very jewish rights of immigration and settlement in ALL of the land of Israel. This must begin at home, in the same way that most of the defamation of Israel and the current wave of global anti semitism begins with the left in Israel.

Was administrative detention only created for right wing dissenters and pal terrorists….. what about all those leftist traitors, blood libelers and incitement to murder jews by spreading libel…. shouldn’t they also be in admin detention receiving “vigorous questioning”? Is the left exempt from the law? Where is Mandebilt, does he only stalk Jews like Yaalon?

  5. “We can’t win the battle if we don’t fight it. This is a struggle for our survival and we don’t allocate enough resources to it like we do for planes, tanks and guns,” Bennett said.

but you must also choose the battles you can win. Hasbara to foreigners is the worst battle because you are trying to convince a stacked deck, same with convincing the UN because it is a consensus of the corrupt…… better to seek to damage the UN through any means possible. Hasbara should be employed in Israel to teach jews their rights first.

Lawfare is a good battle because you can bring substantial and real damage to your enemies… but you must also employ lawfare intelligently using lots of non state actors to sue for damages AND to force gov action in their local courts. A battle won must bring damage and destruction to the enemy… sue individuals and orgs, get their cash, bring criminal charges, harass them with legal limits, destroy their personal livelihoods, make their family life hell… use dirty tricks. Dont play only by the rules.

Also, dont just whine to foreigners about your rights… teach your own children the rights of Jews and then prosecute the foreign elements who illegally seek to destroy those rights in the land of Israel. Why hasnt BB prosecuted those involve with illegal building from the EU not only under local building law but also under laws of sabotage to destroy the Jewish state and undermine Jewish rights. Jail and deport those with no diplomatic immunity, declare those with diplomatic immunity persona non grata and expel them permanently. Any foreigner involved in illegal building to undermine jewish rights to land in Israel should be in jail in Israel. Stop whining about foreigner and show what Jewish rights mean at home by taking the normal action of any civilized and sovereign people who are being sabotaged and undermined by foreigners…. an action is worth a thousand words.

  6. Ted, you and Bennett are both correct about the need for Israel to hold and keep Shomron and Yehuda. But both of you are are both wrong about blasting $300 million on hasbara justifying all of the above.

Facts on the ground, with a Jewish population expanding 4% per annum and therefore doubling every 18 years, outweigh self-justification propaganda tenfold or better.

Am I the only Jew in the world who does not give a damn about what the goyim and the liberal Jews think of our Jewish nation? I learned early in life that everything is tilted against the Jews, and that the only factors which can rectify results of that anti-Jewish tilt are based on raw power and the willingness to use it for our national purposes.

Stop trying to act like good and kindly Jews whose behavior the rest of you think is more acceptable to the goyim. Otherwise, all that results is to make us look like contemptible beggars.

That’s what I learned a long time ago from Dr Israel Eldad, one of Zion’s best killers when that was needed, and from the great Rav Meir Kahane, whose presence in my life will remain in my consciousness until the day I die.
