  1. C’mon,Ted. If wishes were realities, we’d all be running a marathon with you.

I don’t know how that stacks up as a get-well prayer, but each of us does that stuff in his or her own fashion. In any case, I hope you will be up and around and in your own Jerusalem home to welcome the Shabat tonight, and to thank haShem in your own fashion.

  2. Folks, it has been six days since Ted last posted. Time to start worrying. Is there an Israeli poster here who knows Ted well enough to drop in on him?

Yamit, how about you? Are you close by?

  3. Steve, planted electronic chips would not work. Released prisoners would know where they were planted, and it would not be difficult for one of their own physicians or surgeons to remove the chips.

A better idea would be to time the releases of these terrorists so as to cause maximum damage to the various Arab regimes that are most hostile to Israel. For example, lots of these people wind up fighting one another in places such as Syria, the Sinai peninsula, Lebanon and Iraq. Ideally, one or more of the released Arab prisoners might well be attracted to the idea of assassinating any of the PLA leadership who support any possible compromise in making peace with Israel.

Why do I favor this? Because as long as Israel is in a permanent war with the nearby Arabs, they can use that as justification for taking more of their land and planting Jewish populations on them. Therefore, from my standpoint, peace would represent nothing but a lost opportunity to supplement the power of the Jewish nation and state, and such opportunities almost never come more than once.

To me, none of this is a game. Instead, I see it as a deadly serious business which requires a great deal of forethought. I want Israel to fight not just to stave off national destruction, but to create a much stronger national power base so as to be able to deal with future threats with no need to beg protection from dubious allies such as the North Americans and West Europeans. If you read my typical comments on Israpundit, you already know that I mine is both a ruthless and implacable outlook on the permanency of nations and the states they inhabit and seek to protect.

  4. @ Steve Smyser:

A H – releasing them could be okay IF they were each “chipped” so they could be tracked, and their

whereabouts known at all times, in real time by satellite or other electronic means.

With due respect Steve, we are talking about killers that are being released!
So what good will tracking them do if they will be set free anyway?
Mr Harris is correct, we should not take any prisoners . we differ slightly on the methodology, but are in fundamental agreement with the principle.

  6. Good idea Arnold. That is what Ted would want – instead of us engaging in frivolous diatribe.

Whatever happened to the day when the world insisted that we NOT give in to terrorism?

When governments fail we are being set up for another world war. This time the Jews will not be on the chopping block. As in the days of Haman they will hang a noose around their own heads.

  7. Looks like Ted is still hospitalized. So lets redirect some of our online attention and discussion to current events involving Israel and the Jewish nation.

    Example:

Arutz Sheva reports today that Netanyahu is pushing to release a bunch of Arabs from Isral’s security prison (s). But at the same time, he’s signing tenders for new Jewish housing construction in Shomron and Yehuda.

I’ve always advocated keeping no Arab prisoners at all, but simply expelling them to Trans-Jordan, Gaza, or even Syria for the best revenge of all. At the same time, I want to see the Jewish population of Shomron and Yehuda doubled in the next 12-14 years.

  8. Does anyone know how Ted is doing and when he is coming back?

To those in touch with him please tell him we miss him and that we wish him a quick recovery.

    Thanks.

  9. Ted,

Few have the knowledge of just HOW a great worrier for Israel you REALLY ARE.
May the Lord of Israel shield and protect you. And give you much continued health and ‘Nachas’-
    L’Mayeh V’Essrim Shanna- Till 120!

  10. Get well soon. Would it be inappropriate to report on what your illness is? Or maybe it is inappropriate to ask? Please advise me on this.

  11. Busy people such as Ted Belman do not check themselves into hospitals for multi-day treatment for other than serious reasons. He is the man who brought to life this most excellent online forum, for which we should honor him. That, among other considerations, means avoidance of inappropriate levity, which includes nonsense such as sex changes.

Come back safe and sound, Mr Belman. Israel and the Jewish nation needs you more than ever.

  12. Best wishes and prayers for you Ted – be well soon – we look forward to having you back in a few days…

  13. May the Almighty bless you, and grant you a speedy recovery and a Refouah Shelema.

All the best to you and Shabbat Shalom.
