Column One: Apartheid, not peace
Caroline Glick
[..] Although Olmert, Lieberman and Yishai dismiss this Israeli acceptance of moral equivalence with Palestinian jihadists as a meaningless rhetorical concession, the government’s move is rife with political and legal implications. US Ambassador Richard Jones’s unprecedented meeting this week with Supreme Court President Dorit Beinisch made clear that the US demands that Israeli courts interpret Israeli law in a prejudicial manner in order to demonize Israeli opponents of Palestinian statehood and the ethnic cleansing of the Jews from Judea and Samaria.
Their meeting also signaled that the US expects Israel to treat lawful building activities by Jews in Judea and Samaria and even in sections of Jerusalem as criminal acts. Since the Olmert government accepts that Israel is morally indistinguishable from the Palestinian Authority, it is hard to foresee it preventing the criminalization of its political opponents. From now on, Israelis who oppose the diplomatic moves of the Olmert government can expect to be treated as the moral equivalents of Palestinian terrorists.
At Annapolis the Americans accepted the role of sole arbiter of Israeli and Palestinian compliance with their commitments to the so-called ‘Roadmap’ and the peace process. They also committed themselves to reaching a comprehensive peace treaty by the end of 2008. But as former US Middle East mediator during the Clinton administration Dennis Ross has admitted, these goals are contradictory. It is impossible to both ensure Palestinian compliance and the achievement of a peace treaty in that timetable. [..]
This has got to be the grossest interference of Israeli internal affairs I have seen to date! It is time that we realize that we have a very virulent enemy in the US State Department. If the jewish lobby is so strong as everybody believes they are then why is this happening? Why aren’t they recruiting every senator and congressman they can to retaliate against the State Dept? I don’t believe that Condi Rice has any sway over what comes out of her dept. and, I fear, that the president has even less influence.
It is time that Israel stood on her own two feet and told the US to put their pressure where the sun don’t shine…we can deal with the west bank arabs by ourselves, thank you.
Shabbat Shalom Chaverim,
Do not think that the ‘Annapolis Conference’ held on 11/27/07 was an insignificant event.
Olmert, et. al. essentially agreed to hand over Israel’s soveignty to the Americans -specifically, the State Dept. Remember, the U.S. representatives will be “the ones to determine if the Palestinians comply’ with their end of the deal. We all know what that means.
Olmert is an antisemitic Israeli (secular-humanist) who despises Jews, as does Shimon Peres.
Both of these men, as well as Barak, Livni, Ramon and the other lackeys in Kadima are treasonous scum.
The fact that Shas and Yisrael Beiteinu didn’t bolt before Annapolis, during Annapolis and after Annapolis confirms that these parties and their leaders are political whores.
We now live in a world where black is white,up is down, good is bad and ugly is beautiful.
Livni cries because she is shunned and treated like the dhimmi Jew. What a pity. What the hell is she doing in this government? As I have said before, she denigrates her pedigree. Members of her family were in the Irgun.
It is my hope that the Palestinians (the majority being Muslim), as well as the larger Arab World (majority Muslims), save the Israeli nation from their leaders. As Arab/Muslim rhetoric and terrorism (predominantly Palestinian) increases – as a direct result of Annapolis – perhaps the Israeli nation will undergo an “epiphany,” if not a revolutionly change in thinking. If the Olmert government falls, will a subsequent government be any better?
Although we, as Jews, are “not” supposed to say or think such things, perhaps it is time for a ‘bloodless’ coup in Israel, which would result in elevating a mid-level IDF officer – who is a Jew/Zionist/Nationalist – to the position of Premier. Currently, the power structure in Israel is maintained by a Bolshevik Oligarchy.
Israel cannot run away from the terrorists and terrorist nations that pursue her, she must stand and fight… and win.
It is time for war.

Sorry for the multiple posts here. The last sentence in post number five should have read as follows: In order to stop the flawed peace process, Israel should begin by putting their trust in the God of the Holy Scriptures who gave them the land of Israel by divine decree then they should say “NO” to pressure from the Americans, the Europeans, the Russians, or anyone else for that matter.
Tzipi Livny asks why noone wants to shake her hand or be seen speaking to her. Its hard to believe she really could be that naieve. She is a major Israeli government official. She should be aware of the anti-Israel propaganda that comes from the state controlled media of the Arab countries. As such, the fact that nobody wanted to be seen with her should not have surprised her. Teshuva is correct in pointing out that Livni never should have attended this conference in the first place. In order to stop the flawed peace process, Israel should begin by saying “NO” to pressure from the Americans, the Europeans, the Russians, or anyone else for that matter.
Lack of natural ability to prevent evil acts will not be a valid excuse on judgement day. The Israelites were judged for failing to confront the giants when they failed to enter the Promised Land at the command of God. Western nations will face simillar judgement if they fail to confront today’s giants.
For Israel to be asked or expected to give up land to mortal enemies is wrong. Shame on those who expect Israel to do this. The actions of the US or Western nations cannot be excused in these evil acts. Even if the US were to use all of its might to attempt to prevent the formation of another Arab state on Israel’s land it lacks the power to do so. The Arab state would be formed no matter what the US does. The US lacks the power to prevent this and they know it. As such, they are trying to do the best they can within the current geo-political realities for themselves and their country. Even though the US lacks the power to prevent the formation of “Palestine” they should at least try. At this time, only God can prevent the formation of “Palestine.” The Arab states who are the primary movers and shakers behind Annapolis and the formation of the additional Arab state on Israel’s land are collectively too powerful for the US or Western Europe to stop.
If the US and Western Europe would work to prevent the formation of the state of “Palestine” they would gain favor with God. As they are going now, they are unlikely to gain favor God. With God’s help any thing is possible, even the prevention of the formation of “Palestine!!”
The ideal postion for the GOI to take would be to rely on the word of God and put their trust in Him. Unfortuately they have chosen to diplomacy to try and resolve their issues. Since they feel they must use diplomacy, if it has any chance to work, major changes will need to be made. The biggest change would be to recognize that the leader of the so called “peace process” is not the USA. While the USA bears a major share of the blame for this, the US is not the director of this process. More diplomatic efforts should be directed to the Arab states and to Russia. Especially more effort should be directed toward diplomacy with Russia.
Also, to much emphasis is placed on President Bush. He has no power to do anything at this point. He is little more than a figure head. His political opponents control the House, the Senate, the federal and state bureacracies, the courts, the main stream news media, the State Department, and the CIA among other areas of the US government. Actually having Bush reduced to a figure head may not be such a bad thing. He has been a very bad President.
The Arabs are the movers and shakers behind Annapolis not the US. Recognition of this fact will assist the GOI in the diplomatic process. The only reason it is being held in the US is because the security of the various attendees would be more problematic if the conference were held in an Arab country and the Arabs will want to blame the Americans if the conference should fail to achieve the objectives that have been set forth. If the conference is in the US, this becomes easier for them to do.
There is no way that the Arabs or the Russians would allow the US to be the sole arbitor of the peace process as some in the press have reported. Attempting to make it seems as though the US assumes responsibility for determining whether the parties are in compliance was a very clever move on the part of the Russians and the Arabs. This way the Arabs can continue directing the process without having to accept responsibility if the process should not achieve what the Arabs desire.
Even if an honorable agreement could be reached, which it is unlikely that one ever could be reached, enforcement is problematic. The world media closely monitors the actions of Israel and the US. Israel and the US will have no choice but to honor any agreeemnts they make even if they wished not to. The same is not the case for the Arabs. They are able to violate their agreements with impunity. Israel will need to insist on some mechanism to ensure that the Arabs honor their end of the bargain.
A diplomatic solution simply does not seem likely and the combined forces of Israel and the US are not strong enough to prevail against the Russian/Chinese/Arab alliance even if the US felt inclined to confront these people militarily which it does not at the present time. Israel, the US, and Western Europe could build up their militaries to get them on par with the Russians and the Chinese, however, this would take time. The Americans could also develop more of their own oil and gas reserves to give them some leverage when dealing with Arab nations. The first step to doing this would be to get the enviro-whackos out of the way. This is a tall order as allies of these people control the courts and the news media. Even if we could get them out of the way now and start drilling and building more refinieries right now, it would still take ten years or more to really make a difference. The only real solution to this set of problems is to put our trust in God in much the same way that King David did.
Shalom Ted,
From the material I’ve been reading over the years, US Ambassador Jones didn’t have a difficult assignment demanding “Israeli courts interpret Israeli law in a prejudical manner…”.
Kol tuv,
As the Arabs gang rape Israel, Bush holds Israel down. The greater the responsibility in this atrocity, the greater the judgment. Bye Bye Miss American Pie.
Like father like son. October 30, 1991: The Perfect Storm—As President George H. W. Bush is opening the Madrid (Spain) Conference to consider “land for peace” in Israel’s Middle East role, the “perfect storm” develops in the North Atlantic, creating the largest waves ever recorded in that region. The storm crashed into the New England Coast. Thirty-five foot waves crashed into the Kennebunkport home of President Bush.
Like grandfather like grandson. Bush’s grandfather, Prescott, was arrested by the FBI in WWII for Trading with the Enemy (Germany). Now we see the 4th Reich operating.
And what is with Olmert and his co-conspirators? This is treason. He is working for the enemy.
Why would she want to shake the hand of a Muslim terrorist?
Outrageous! Servant = slave = dhimmi. She should have just said No! and gone home. No, she should not have attended in the first place.
