“Security Guarantees?” 😀 That phrase should be universally seen as the sarcastic joke it is like: “Some of my best friends are…” and “Bridge for sale.”
@Adam
There are no security concerns which might assuage the Israeli people to accept the demands of the international community. Indeed, if the price for peaceful relations with the Saudis is to be the doom of the Jewish State, how would such peaceful relations be credibly supported or useful to either Israel or SA? In fact, the vote which was passed yesterday in the Knesset demonstrates the political change which has been recognized by the current govt, and this change will likely be seen to be ever greater in the next govt. There can be no peace without security and security can not be offshored to those who have demonstrated a complete condescension for the safety and security of the Israeli people by demanding that they wed themselves to those who would butcher them with a happy abandonment. In short, it takes two to come to any agreement, and the demands of that report will not be agreeable to the Israeli’s regardless of any faux commitment made to them by the US and her Arab allies.
From the Jewish Press: Last Wednesday, The Washington Post reported that the Biden administration, alongside a select coalition of Arab allies, including Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and the Palestinian Authority, is hastening to finalize an exhaustive and intricate strategy aimed at achieving enduring peace between Israel and the “Palestinians.” (It’s On: US and Arab States Pushing Timeline for Palestinian State)
WP reporters Karen DeYoung, Susannah George, and Loveday Morris noted: “The elephant in the planning room is Israel, and whether its government will acquiesce to much of what is being discussed: the withdrawal of many, if not all, settler communities on the West Bank; a Palestinian capital in East Jerusalem; the reconstruction of Gaza; and security and governance arrangements for a combined West Bank and Gaza.”
They added: The hope is that Israel would also be offered specific security guarantees and normalization with Saudi Arabia and other Arab states that would be hard to refuse.”
This was another great Caroline Glick interview. I had never listened to Amichai Chikli before and was impressed with his clarity of understanding.
The contrast between these two bright individuals and the Americans currently in “leadership” roles was striking. Blinken and Biden are the team from hell. Their ideas are perverse and this was also true for Obama. Their combined goal is the defeat of Israel and the liberation of terrorists to commit more terror.
The Israelis are winning the war, but then again, they have no choice but to win. Still, the Israeli team has clear geostrategic thinking and understands the dynamics of the Middle East, especially the need to disempower Qatar, Iran, and all terrorists. To that end, UNWRA must be declared a terrorist non-state actor.
Americans can learn a lot from Israelis who are showing incredible courage in standing up to regional bullies, while Biden barks out orders on his way to a nap or another vacation on the Delaware shore.
I do not and I will not take responsibility for the evil doings of those who control us in the USA and who harm Israel and many other countries around the world. But it IS on all of us as Americans to do all in our power to defeat them and bring them to justice.
