    Laura, I have no interest in arguing for or against labeling based on psychobabble, and hypocrisy has bored me for most of my 79 years.

    Too many Jews — and especially those who find their way into the leadership cadres of Jewish organizations, make the frequently disastrous and sometimes fatal mistake of assuming that merely because some non-Jews treat them with politeness, that they really give a damn about all the torments the Jewish nation has endured for most of the past three or more millenia, or that they have any more concern for whether the State of Israel survives or is destroyed, and all this at about the same level as my unconcern for the fate of the Bengladeshi.

    I was fortunate enough to have learn in childhood from my own father and from my experiences in school and on the street the difference between objectively-defined reality and bullshit. So I am concerned first and foremost with:

    1) Myself, my wife, our children and now our first granddaughter and our extended families.

    2) Our ancient Jewish tribe.

    3) The United States of America, which I have loyally served as a soldier and whose taxes I pay without whimpering.

    I really don’t give a damn that corporate big-shots such as Henry Ford, IBM’s Thomas Watson, or members of the Bush and Walker families did business with Hitler. Their first loyalties were to their own bank accounts and satisfying their stockholders and customers. In any case, the USA, along with our Russian and British allies, destroyed the Nazi armies, burned most of cities to cinders, and trapped Hitler in his underground bunker and gave him no exit except suicide.

    Anyway, I don’t take part in boycotts, so I have owned autos manufactured by Ford, I learned to program on one of the first IBM-PC desktop computers, and voted for both G H W Bush and his son, largely because neither of them were liberals.

    If you and anyone else who claims to care about the Jewish nation and the State of Israel used the same standards as I do for realistic judgement of public affairs, you might not always feel like winners. But you will never again have to admit to yourselves that somebody lied to you and that you fell for it.

  3. Something fishy is going on.
    I find alternative sites and alternative thinkers SUSPECT if along with their theories and research they play down or ignore Islam’s violent history of imperialism and carnage. ~~~ The West has been increasingly vilified from inside and with very good reasons. But this does not mean that it is the sole perpetrator of evil, or that anything that the followers of the ‘religion of peace’ do to us can be traced to Western intrigue alone. ~~~ For some time I have noticed that alternative sites (sophisticated or not) seem to be hijacking the tide of increased popular skepticism over the official version of events, by presenting their research along with their own subtle – or not so subtle – message shifting animosity away from Islam. ~~~ Why? And who is funding that subliminal or expressed message? It’s time to get skeptical about the skeptics’ motives – if they show a reluctance to tackle Islam’s ongoing horrors and threat to civilization – flawed as our civilization may be.

    I don’t know if the elections were rigged, but it isn’t so hard to believe that the Egyptians willingly voted for the mb. After all, polls did show the large majority of Egyptians supported sharia law. I do not share your optimistic view of the Egyptian public. I think Americans tend to view these uprisings all wrong. Its not a rejection of islamization.
    I agree that Obama supported the mb.

    I think that Israel should continue to very seriously pursue relations with china. I expect China to make massive economic, political and strategic gains. What they have achieved in the past thirty years is similar to Israels achievements. they have shown great talent for pragmatic change and if they continue they will far outpace all competitors. although fraught with many problems, and what isn’t, there is the opportunity for Israeli to finally be free of the christian muslim empires which have tortured them for millenia. it is evident that modern development has not really changed the empires’ perspectives towards the Jews and they continue to torture the jews. China has no history of anti Semitism both actually or ideologically. Much of china’s animosity to the west has resulted from the Wests animosity to China and the attempts of the robber barons to destroy their economy and institutions. Most of our negative views of China have been fed through filters. we have been tought that they are communist robot parrot clones: I believe this is intentionally inaccurate. Although a difficult road I think it should be viewed as an urgent national interest for Israel to cultivate ties with china. It would be great to be out from under the foot of europe, the US, russia and the arabs: all continue to operate against the Jews.

    Not surprisingly, CNN has taken a very pro-MB stance all along (advocating ‘give them a chance!’, ‘it’ll upset the moderate Islamists!’, ‘cut off aid to Egypt!’). We must remember that everything we read is filtered through our pro-Islamist mass media, which lies for our terrorism-sponsoring government.

    The tone I pick up from reading CNN article comments is that the average Egyptian doesn’t hate the US very much, can tolerate Jews (maybe not Jewlovers, but not so angry that they want to lose their lives while killing Jews). I don’t know if they support western style democracy or not–because the US government intervenes and decides that they need to be lead by Islamist neo-nazis. I guess we’ll never find out.

    Basically, based on reading tenc, I think that the MB was forced into leadership by the US and allied governments (while US media lied and said that they were freely chosen). Others think that the MB was freely and democratically chosen by Egyptians. I’m part of the former group.

    This is a total crock of shit. islam has a 1400 YEAR HISTORY OF VIOLENCE AND JIHAD. This statement alone discredits this entire claim. Clearly the purpose for whoever made this video is to be an apologist for islam and is anti-American.

  16. @ Ted Belman: further, I think that islam is particularly suitable for use as a vehicle, or tool,for power and control of populations. this is one reason why I believe that western interests have collaborated and are even in harmony with using Islam as a tool. Islam demands complete submission and is able to effect the greatest range of compliance by its adherents: suicide,terror,irrational behavior. Robber barons of today cannot help but be impressed by the achievements of the GCC, islamist, clerical, financial, jihadist, activist network. the communists had success but they were never able with their ideology to achieve complete submission of their adherents and get them to do anything. the Islamist network is able to get their adherents to behave at opposite poles ideologically at the drop of a hat. there is a rational under Islam for anything and any behavior. E.G. as a minor example but worthy of note where the Syrian Jihadist commander recently stated that the jihadis had no beef with Israel.     Although I have been saying that the jihadists are paid mercenaries and used by GCC nations in collaboration with the west it is a far jump to make this statement. Please elaborate on the letters in bold and how this conclusion is reached. Arabs and muslims appear to represent a massive percentage of jihadists from the top of the pyramid in the GCC to the bottom in the street as jihadis. Furthermore, Wahabbi Islam is the Islam being financed and propagated throughout the globe by the Sauds.

    there is enough evidence in the writings of Islam to support the statement of “a religion of violence”. There is enough behavior demonstrated by islamic adherents to support the claim ranging from the early violence of mohameds conversions and conquests to the current calls to slaughter jews and infidels. As to whether the evidence is sufficient to be called “scientifically conclusive” is a matter for those who find the debate beneficial. RE the ‘arabs by nature” is confusing; is it referring to cultural or racial criteria. I see no evidence to conclude that arabs are genetically predatory.
    The video appears to imply that even though there have been proven connections between the sauds and MB, that those links do not exist today and they are in opposition to each other. I believe that this conclusion is untrue and may be used as a red herring to distance the sauds from operations. Today we see how the sauds, Qatar, and GCC work closely for common goals. Qatar appears to influence MB and Sauds appear to influence salafis. Either way they(GCC) all benefit. MB is “out” right now in egypt but salafis were invited to participate.

All governments base their foreign policies on standards of what they think best serves the diplomatic, military, foreign trade and other international relationships of their particular country. It’s all about perceived self-interest. Jews in general, and Israel in particular, should learn to do the same.

    Lots of Americans wanted to do business with Hitler and his Nazis, right up to the day that idiot declared war against the USA four days after the Japanese attack on our great base at Pearl Harbor. And so what? Those US citizens who supported the idea of business as usual with the Nazis — including major industrialists — were not Jewish. So they had no particular reason to give a damn about Nazi persecution of Europe’s Jews. Any more than I give a damn about the Moslems of Bengladesh being swept out into the Indian Ocean by monsoon rains and rising ocean levels. If and when they achieve any level of significance for the future of the Jewish nation or the power of the Jewish state, I will change my attitude about them. But not until then.

    The only international morality that has any validity is self-interest. I would like to see Israel become the biggest and richest supplier of weaponry to any country that can pay cash to buy all the instruments of death and destruction their governments want. Nor would I really care if those countries support armed terrorists, just so long as Israel and the Jews are not their targets.

  20. Christopher Simpson and Edwin Black have also written some good books on this topic. The reality is that the US government only pretends to fight against rag tag bands of Islamist terrorists. This is what the citizens would expect. The reality is that it attacks Jews, Christians, and ant-Islamist Muslims with these types of terrorists.
