INN reports, McCain: Israel Must Respond to PA’s Unilateral Move
-
“I think, though, that the United States should react by saying, ‘We’re not only not going to be part of anything like this, but we’re also not going to spend American taxpayers’ dollars.’ That usually gets their attention.”
The U.S. and Israel do not want the Palestinian Authority to fail, said McCain, “but at the same time we cannot have action like this go unresponded to. It’s going to take some thinking and consultation with Congress” on how to respond, he added.
Fair enough but he blows it when he recommends that Bill Clinton be appointed to get the peace process going.
-
“What I think is that if the President is serious, and I think he’s serious, I would appoint the highest-ranking person that I possibly could – President Bill Clinton comes to mind – to try to get this process moving. As long as there’s this potential for conflict there’s going to be a very difficult situation in the Middle East,” he added.
Like all other politicals he is straight jacketed into the two state solution. No amount of evidence can shake this commitment.
Its not just that the parties will never agree but also that the peace process gives false hope to the Palestinians and also prevents a alternate solution from developing.
Ban Ki-moon says Israeli Construction a Blow to Peace:
-
“Settlements are illegal under international law and, should the E1 settlement be constructed, it would represent an almost fatal blow to remaining chances of securing a two-state solution.”
Good.
Unfortunately, Bibi found it necessary to say Gov’t okayed E1 planning, not building. In any event, you have to plan it in order to build it. Step by step.
From the beginning the so called two state solution–was meant to be the final solution to end Israel–and it still is and will continue to be–as long as Jews allow this evil!
Well said. I agree with your terminology and I think that from now on, anyone who writes a letter about the Middle East should replace the word ‘Peace’ in peace process with the word ‘Dismantling’.@ Canadian Otter:

You’ve nailed the fatal flaw in the West- the spoiled brat looney tunes anti-war, can’t-we-all-get-along, leftists never understand that freedoms in democracy do not or should not extend to any group that wishes to destroy the democracy or the state of the nation.
You want the practical answer to your question – look at Londinistan and the end of freedom there – and look at the terror attacks and plots on North America – all from within and someday bound to succeed even more than they have.
I despise the Europeans. They are reprehensible. Underneath the veneer of civility, the Europeans are and always have been savages.
@ Mike Lumish:
What is democracy? To be gin with it meant majority vote. Since then many limitations have been but on the will of the people resulting in various democracies throughout the world. When people in the west want us to be democratic, they mean like them. But we are not in the west. We are in the ME. There are no democracies here because they don’t work here.
Israel is a Jewish state and wants to remain so. It would also like to remain “democratic”. Yamit’s position of no political rights, echoed by Felix, is not shared by the majority of Israelis, so wedded are they to western notions of democracy. A number of suggestions have been mooted on how to deal with the problem, including offering citizenship to qualified residents. The qualifications would not be without western precedent.
There is also the suggestion that we financially induce the Arabs to leave. By my numbers it would cost less than uprooting 100,000 Jews.
And another suggestion is maintaining the autonomy they currently have.
This may not sound pleasant but, in response to McCain’s idea that we don’t want the Palestinians to fail, I would suggest that if the whole situation blew up because we do respond, that Israel will be liberated and can then do all what it should and needs to do. We are going to take heat from the international community no matter what. Is a little heat better than a lot of heat? We might as well take the heat and also all we are entitled too and let them scream from the rafters. The end result will certainly be much better.

Mike Lumish Said:
Ans: No political rights (Zero) ONLY Civil rights and personal rights to personal property. They cannot hold any public office even dog catcher or water meter reader. We cannot murder them steal from them or injure them in any way. They may live on the land as long as they give loyalty and fealty to the Jewish State and pay tribute (taxes ) like anyone else. Those who refuse to live in peace with us and meet their lawful obligations will be made to leave and if they resist Killed. No imprisonment even for minor crimes and infractions only deportation.
Democracy? There is no democracy except our right to vote. In any case democracy is not compatible with Judaism or Jewish Law. Those who want democracy instead have many other choices of where to live. A Jewish State is not a geographic place were Jews hang out. It must reflect all things Jewish including Jewish Law, Jewish culture, Hebrew Language and Jewish eduction. Israel did not come into being to become a poor man’s reflection of America. Sorry!!!
Read the Israeli declaration of Independence, the word democracy is not mentioned.
Ben Gurion expressed Jewish Law when he stated:
Mike
1. Start with Balfour DECLARATION AND SUBSEQUENT TREATIES
2. Accept that the Arabs with their antisemitism have forfeited even that
sum up…their conduct means they have no rights.
Here’s my question… and I assume you’ve answered it, elsewhere, Ted… but nonetheless:
If Israel were to annex Judea and Samaria, what kind of rights would you give to those Arabs?
How much democracy are you willing to sacrifice?
Let him either:
A. cite with specificity as to its explicit applicability the ‘law’ he has in mind; OR
B. STFU.

And note how Czechoslovakia was the only Euro nation to vote agsinst this monstrosity. That’s no accident.
IT’S A DISMANTLING PROCESS, the dismantling of Israel. Not a peace process. WORDS HAVE POWER, and by allowing the enemy to characterize the Dismantling Process as a ‘peace process’ Israelis have been DUPED. ~~~~~ Military victories brought peace to Israel. The IDF and their arsenal keep the peace. ~~~ Appeasement and compromise, on the other hand, have deprived the country of land, sovereignty, dignity and self-respect. And maybe of a future as well.
The US has been arming Israel’s enemies with the goal of giving them a conventional weapons advantage, while waiting for the right time for those enemies to strike. If Israel can’t be destroyed diplomatically – by peace – then it will be by war. The process of dismantling Israel through deception while empowering its enemies has been going on for decades.
Israeli citizens must put a stop to this deception, even if they start with small steps, such as rejecting the enemy’s lexicon, starting with the misused word PEACE. Peace yes, but not through surrender, not through partition, not through dominance of the country by outside powers. ~~~~~ Follow that up by clarifying the word GOVERNMENT. Your government has a set of duties, responsibilities, and limits as to what it is allowed to do. Elected officials DO NOT own the land. They do not have carte blanche to give it away. Your government does not have powers to make decisions above the law. They are YOUR SERVANTS.
Ha anyone noticed how quickly the UK, france are threateninng to recall ambassadors. The euros have a ready made plan up their sleeves to pull a Czechoslovakia on Israel. Anyone see the german back stabbing. Europeans cannot be trusted. Israel must be ready for sanctions as this the the reall intentions of the euros. I hope Israel is planning for this as giving the pals a state on euro pressure will be a big mistake.
