Annapolis is a no-win situation for Israel

By Ted Belman

Invitations are going out today. But to what?

To start with you must understand

“War And Peace In The Law Of Islam”

I explained why

Islamic “peace” and Israel are mutually exclusive.

So if real peace isn’t the object of the exercise, what is?

Annapolis is about wiping Israel off the face of the map

To better understand the the Arab viewpoint I posted an open letter from Palestinian Organization in Canada to Mahmoud Abbas under the title

Can you believe this

” [..] Such a redefinition leads the Palestinians into the trap of the “two-state” formula which subverts our legitimate rights under international law. We stress that the central issue in the Palestinian conflict with Israel has always been the dispossession of the Palestinian people from their land and property caused by the Zionist ethnic cleansing of 1948 and the Israeli denial to Palestinians of the basic human right to return and to live in peace and security as equal citizens on their land.

We further specifically caution you against any recognition of Israel as a “Jewish” state. Such a recognition would give Israel the façade of moral and legal legitimacy while critically compromising the full implementation of the inalienable Palestinian right of return.[..]

  1. Israel can win at Annapolis, if it gives nothing away and the status quo remains. From the looks of things, the best chance for that to happen is for the Palestinians to again overplay their hand.

The great fear is however that Olmert might give something away, even with the appearance that it is conditional, but in time the condition will be deemed irrelevant and Olmert and subsequent Israeli leaders might be bound by such concession.

Again, I put more hope in the Annapolis conference being scuttled and a non-event as a result of the Palestinians again making impossible demands rather then Olmert displaying any courage and strength.
