Peloni: As is true of all of Yossi’s research, this is an important read, relating the combined efforts of domestic legal shenanigans and international protest movements targeting Netanyahu’s leadership with the desired goal of rendering Israel into a state of all its citizens alongside a Pal state ripped from Israel’s strategic heartlands.
Yossi Baum tweeted the following:
A Must-Read: It’s Worth Pausing for a Moment to Grasp What Happened Today in Court to Understand What’s Actually Going On Here.
- First, a revelation: The majority of the charges—159 out of the 315 in the indictment—Netanyahu was not personally involved in at all. The *full* document format.
- At the opening of the defense’s case, attorney Hadad explained that the drama that unfolded today is precisely the reason why in the rush to file the indictment while Netanyahu was on the White House lawn during the Abraham Accords signing ceremony, the 315 items were not included in the indictment. The prosecution knew everything was fake; the goal was Netanyahu’s ousting, and detailing was unnecessary for that. When the court compelled them to detail those 315 cases, the collapse began. Because, as revealed today and will be further exposed, there are none and never were.
- The purpose of the cases was to weaken Netanyahu in the immediate term. This did work, but only for a short time. The longer Netanyahu endured, and the framing was exposed and became the foundational assumption of the overwhelming majority of the country’s citizens, it only proved Netanyahu’s longstanding claims of personal persecution. And there is nothing like personal persecution to rally the right. The anti-Netanyahu right-wing camp almost collapsed.
- Furthermore: Despite the 1977 political shift, the left cemented its rule through its grip on the law enforcement and judicial systems. Through these, they fabricated cases and removed obstacles like Olmert or caused ideological shifts, as in the case of Sharon. Other faction leaders were cornered at sensitive spots, e.g., Lieberman, Sa’ar, ministers, and MKs in Likud, etc.
This was supposed to continue indefinitely, were it not for the “thousands of cases” which, paradoxically, exposed their own nakedness and created an ongoing public demand for rule-changing.
- The great mistake was assuming Netanyahu wouldn’t hold out, for two reasons:
-
- Projection: All the left’s actions are known to stem from projection. Projecting corruption assumes Netanyahu must be vastly more corrupt than them, and the reason his “corruption” hasn’t been exposed must be due to his ‘additional advantage’—international expertise in concealment. Hence, Netanyahu, knowing he has too much to hide, would retire.
This is no exaggeration. These were the explicit statements investigators made to various witnesses: “Bring something.” Surely something exists. The possibility that Netanyahu might be the cleanest politician globally never crossed their minds.
-
- Mission: Netanyahu is driven by an internal mission to secure Israel’s eternity, as he has said on many occasions and as I’ve heard from those who know him personally. The power of this internal truth is so strong and so foreign to the case fabricators that he withstood them just as he withstood Obama, Blinken, and all others plotting against us.
In Netanyahu’s view, the case-fabricating—as well as the various “protests”—are another leg in the American attempts to impose a state of all its citizens alongside a Palestinian state. He, like the little boy with his finger in the dam, won’t let it happen, come what may. We have no other land.
A Word on the Strategy of Case-Fabricating and US-Funded Protests:
This strategy began immediately upon his return to power in 2009.
- Just three months later, the Gilad Shalit protest began. Organized and likely funded.
- It didn’t help. In January 2011, Barak broke ranks and joined the government.
- By March 2011, the “Bibi Tours” case emerged, courtesy of Druker. This case lingered until 2017.
- When that wasn’t enough, the 2011 social protests erupted.
- Netanyahu undermined the protests by securing Shalit’s return—who remembers that?
- By late 2012, the government was dissolved.
- In 2013, a government was formed with the “Brotherhood Alliance” between Bennett and Lapid, holding Netanyahu by the throat until he had to dissolve it.
- By 2014, the “Israel Beitenu Affair” surfaced. Since then, Lieberman has been cornered. He dramatically refused to join the 2015 government at the last minute.
- The 2015 protests and the massive US funds that flowed here via V15 and the like need no elaboration.
- But it didn’t help. The government held.
- Then the cases were fabricated. In 2015, groundwork began, not in 2016 as commonly thought. The police discovered the recordings of Netanyahu-Mozes conversations on Harow’s phone in 2015. So was the Lerner case.
- But then Weinstein closed the Bibi Tours case.
- By 2016, Mandelblit stepped in, and the law enforcement continued building cases out of the Bibi Tours remnants. By mid-2016, all of Netanyahu’s circle was under investigation: Harow, Lerner, Shapiro, Snir, Milchan, Lauder, Arad, Mally Even Chen, Schnayer, Efi Azulai, Carmon, Dahen, and others connected to them. Surveillance on Yair Netanyahu and his driver Roy Rosen also began.
- Meanwhile, Barak was fundraising abroad for Israeli activities. Later came the Goren Square protests.
- By 2017, the 4000 case merged with the Bezeq case. Protests against Mandelblit persisted. Sa’ar returned to politics, perhaps influenced by Barak.
- It didn’t help. Early in 2018, following Rothschild protests, the coordinated campaign of cases and protests escalated: Barak announced there would be resistance (already in 2018!). Aharon Barak devised a new constitutional construction—the Declaration of Independence—to make the Supreme Court supreme over the Knesset.
- This didn’t help either. The protests intensified. Goren Square alongside 20 other locations. State witnesses. An investigation against Lieberman via Druker again forced his government exit, triggering elections.
- By 2019, Lieberman blocked a right-wing government, plunging into endless election cycles. Then Mandelblit filed the indictment.
- Alongside case-fabricating were the Balfour protests, the pandemic, and more during the “Change Government.”
- The rest is unnecessary to recount, but note the parallel axes throughout: 15 years of case-fabricating and protests funded by US and European money, culminating in a complete clash between the branches of government.
Can This Absurd Trial Be Concluded?
Not with the current tools. But a law can and must be passed as follows:
- Establish a bipartisan parliamentary inquiry committee to examine the motivations behind the filing of the cases.
- If exceptional findings arise, the committee should empower the police to open criminal investigations against those who participated in what appears to be case-fabrication and/or hold them personally accountable for the financial consequences of filing the cases.
One insider from the law enforcement system would collapse the entire structure. If I were Judith Tirosh, whom Liat Ben Ari threw under the bus and caused her public crucifixion today, I would be the first to take that step. Such an inquiry committee is intended to increase pressure on potential state witnesses and make them “open up” about Mandelblit, Shai Nitzan, Alsheikh, and all the other righteous ones.
Speedily and in our days.
Time to mention: Project 315 of @levyguy77, the open studio of @BarashiKinneret, the investigations of @Motty53, will go down in history books as those who saved the country.
