Mudar Zahran: Abdullah Begged Assad to Stay in Damascus

Mudar Zahran tweeted the following:

Our high-level sources…
Ali Baba, the “King” of Jordan, contacted Bashar al-Assad before his escape and begged him to stay in Damascus.

On the day of his escape from Damascus, Ali Baba called Assad by phone, trying to convince him to stay. He offered him the option to “hide secretly in Jordan on the condition that he doesn’t announce that his regime has fallen.”

Ali Baba told Assad to “not rush” and tried to reassure him that “a Gulf state will spend billions in bribes to Western politicians to keep Bashar in power.” However, Bashar was not convinced and confirmed to him that “everything is over” and that “Iran betrayed me and betrayed you as well.”

The sources confirmed the validity of the Wall Street Journal’s report that Ali Baba asked Assad to “establish a government in exile.” They added that “Abdullah” advised him to “ignite the Syrian-Israeli border with terrorist operations that Jordanian intelligence agents could carry out after Bashar’s fall, so that Bashar appears as the only one capable of controlling Syria, opening the door for his return.”

Our sources also revealed that Rania, Ali Baba’s wife, tried to contact Asma al-Assad by phone to convince her to pressure her husband not to leave the country, but she was unable to reach her.

The sources confirmed the accuracy of the Independent’s report about Ali Baba’s intelligence supporting Bashar against the Syrian people.

Ali Baba realizes that his fate is like Bashar al-Assad’s, if not worse…and his intelligence agency has proven to be a dangerous terrorist organization, condemned by documents and evidence for its involvement with the most dangerous terrorist entities in the world and the region, from Al-Qaeda, through ISIS, to Boko Haram.

  1. I found the discussion Zahran had with Tamar Yonah very helpful. He did reference this issue of the King of Jordan trying to keep Bashar Assad in power.

One thing I didn’t understand until I listened to this recording is the role of China. I knew China made some deals with Iran, for buying oil, and probably there were Chinese building projects in Iran, and I knew China tried to broker peace between Iran and Saudi Arabia which I don’t think worked out. But it never occurred to me what Mudar Zahran pointed out, that the loss of Bashar Assad and the loss of Iran’s power projected through Syria was a huge loss for the CCP. Through Iran and her proxies I guess China had many options open. The fact that Iran is now on very shaky ground means that anything China expected through Iran is also on shaky ground.

He explained that the architect of the Middle East stalemate was George Bush Sr. and George Bush Jr. They put Hamas in place, and empowered Iran, and fully expected more or less continual war and friction from the structure they built and so it happened.

I guess they never expected Israel to respond with such devastating power, enough to blow away to smithereens all they cynically put in place.

There is no fighting force on the face of this earth with as much power and integrity as the Israeli armed forces. With one hand held behind their back (By the Biden administration) they STILL defeated the forces of evil and darkness and left the dreams of the Ayatollahs in shambles.

Abdullah’s desperate plea to save himself fell on deaf ears.

Peace will eventually come to the Middle East. It will take time for everything to fall into place.

Israel has accomplished what no other nation could have accomplished against such odds.

  2. Some words seem to have been left out of the last sentence of Mudar’s report, making its meaning unclear. Ted and Peloni, please ask Mudar to correct this mistake and repost this dispatch.

  3. Reports were that no one knew Assad was leaving Damascus expect the Russians. He did not even tell his brother.

This appears to be false reporting based on the reports!
