Can Israel destroy Iran’s Nuclear Program? – October 9 IDSF Daily Briefing

Peloni:  This is a very important discussion of the capabilities of Iran and and most particularly regarding Israel’s capabilities of striking Iran’s nuclear program. Major Res. Yochanan Ben Jacob explains quite quickly that Israel has the means of targeting Iran’s nuclear program but asserts that he does not foresee any direct attack on these nuclear centers due to the potential nuclear fallout which might occur as a result of the attack.  Notably, Gen. Avivi has consistently reflected upon the obligation of and need of an international coalition to take out Iran’s nuclear program.  This of course leaves Israel with the recourse of regime change in Tehran as the means by which to deal with the Iranian threat until such international leadership in Iran might be achieved.

  1. It should certainly try its best to do this. Israel should have destroyed Iran’s nuclear program when it first detected it in 2003. With every year that it has delayed, the task has become more dificult and more perilous, Now is the 59th minute of the 23rd hour.
