Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu: This is the real solution to the situation in Gaza

‘Gaza has hundreds of thousands unemployed, in Europe there is a lack of manpower – this is the most humane solution, and will prevent much bloodshed,’ Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu says.

Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, chief rabbi of the northern city of Tzfat, published an op-ed offering a long-term solution for the residents of Gaza.

Quoting a suggestion from former US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, Rabbi Eliyahu said that Haley “sees how hundreds of thousands left Gaza in recent years. Not everyone, because Hamas stopped the emigration. It demands a lot of money for emigration – money that they don’t have. And so she suggested helping them to fulfill their desire to leave Gaza.”

Rabbi Eliyahu also noted that all of the polls published in recent years prove that most Gazans would like to emigrate to Europe or other countries.

“It’s not just residents of Gaza,” he wrote. “Millions of Muslims are emigrating from Syria and Lebanon and all Arab countries, to Europe. For residents of Gaza this desire is is even more powerful. They are suffering under Hamas’ rule, which uses them and endangers their lives. Hamas is not developing Gaza, and half of them are unemployed, and those happy ones who are employed in Gaza receive pennies as their salary.”

“In Europe, they will receive a salary ten times higher than in Gaza. Their lives will not be in constant danger. Their children will not be drawn into terror. In Europe they will have a future. Therefore, they wish to emigrate, but Hamas makes it very hard for them. It demands a high price for every person emigrating, and the cost of emigration is too high for them. This price is not too high for us and for the world. The price of this war in money is tens of billions of shekels. For a quarter or a third of this price, we could give all the residents of Gaza good lives in other places in the world.”

He added, “Canada is not the only one willing to absorb them. There are many countries in Europe which do not have sufficient birthrates and which need manpower. In Gaza there are hundreds of thousands unemployed; in Europe there is a lack of manpower. The most humanitarian and considerate solution is emigration.”

“This is both a humane solution and an economic solution. It is a solution which will prevent a lot of bloodshed. This solution is a disaster for Hamas. The leaders of Hamas are making a living off this ongoing war. Each of them is sitting on billions of dollars. Why should they end the war? Their children are in Qatar or Turkey, they have no interest in ending the war. But we definitely have an interest in ending this war, and the next wars after it.

“This is the most true end of the war,” Rabbi Eliyahu stressed. “This is the most humanitarian proposal there is. And most of all, this is what the Torah teaches us. All the other solutions are proposals for a solution which will invite the next war. We don’t have excess children for unnecessary wars. Let’s promote the solution which will protect lives.”

  1. There are several terrible disater scenarios that could happen to both Israe land the United States in 2024. One is that collapse ofthe world economy and world trade, which some economists are predicting as a realistic possibility. If that happended the first thing that Congress would cut out of the Federal budget will be foreign aid, which is always the least popular item in the Federal budget. That would hurt Israel badly, and probably force an end to the war against Hamas,

Another, even worse possibility is that the Democrats will succeed in rigging the 2024 election, just as they succeeded in rigging the 2020 election. But this time, a second rigged election might lead to a full-scale insurrection by Trump supporters, possibly even joined by Robert Kennedy Jr. supporters. That in turn might lead to armed classhes between indignant Trumpians and an alliance of Leftists, anarchists, black nationalista and Islamist, all with close connection to the DP. Governors in a few states, possibly including a few states where the Confederacy is still remembered fondly by many white citizens, and the “Union” remains unpopular. Even though the civil war theoretically ended in 1865, it has never really ended in the minds of southerners. Nikky Hadley’s recent blunder in ansering a question about the causes of the civil war illustrates this,. Like many whiteSouth Carolinians, she still believes that the real cause of the civil war was the Federal government’s vio;ation of states” rights.

  2. There are several countries that might benefit from a substantial influx of Palestinian immigrants. These countries, I believe, would welcome immigrants from Paestine–except that any such offer would encountr fierce opposition from both the Unites ZZStsted snd the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, (OI(N)C) in which nearly all Muslim states are members. The countries that would stand to benefit from Palestinian immigrants are several countries in South America, Central America, the CaribbeaN,and possibly “Mesoamerica” (meanning Mexico). But these countries will not defy both the United States and the Islamic bloc.Maxico,

The Eurpean countries would not benefit from Palestinian inmmigration, because they are already hav their hands more than full coping with the hundred s of thousand of Muslim immigrants that they have already admiited to their country. They definitely don’t want any Palestinian immigrants. None of the Arab or Muslim states ae willing to accept Palestinian immigrants, That is because they have a well-deserved reputation as troublemakers and criminals who are not loyal to the Arab and other Muslim countries that have given them refuge in the past.

However, I can think of one tactic to encouage Palestinian emigration that Israel could employ that might just work. Israel could pay for plane tickets to any country, that a Palestinian family may wish wish to escape to. Also, pay them for any legitimate or even plausible claim to property, including property, that they may own. Once these Palesinian emigrants, or fugitive, arrive in their countries of destination, such as the United States, the authorities there may be too embarrassed to deny them entry, which would look really bad to much of the press and the public, and will therefore grudgingly let them in. One in a “develped” country like the United states or the EU countries, kicking them out might prove a very difficult task, with left-leaning judges and immigration officials preferring to grant them political or humanitarian asylum. At any rate it is a ploy that Israel should consider.

  3. This rabbi has no idea…even if Gazans make more money in Europe, they will still cause a huge amount of social problems and violence anywhere they go. Just look at what Pal emigrants are doing in American universities and cities.

Also, the antisemitic right is already blaming Israel, Jews and Zionists for everything any immigrant does anywhere, because we run the world. The more Muslim immigration, the more these conspiracy theorists will blame us. And the suffering of Europeans will be such, that even neutrals will find this point of view comforting.

The best solution is to put the Pals in weak Muslim countries like Yemen, Somalia, etc. and police them to keep them from getting out. Pay the corrupt local politicians to accept the deal. If people want to do this, it will be so easy. There is no shortage of cash hungry s—holes to warehouse Pals. The only reason it won’t be done is that all European and North American governments are on the other side.

  4. Sorry, Rabbi, but we in Europe don’t want them either. We already have enough trouble with migrants raping, robbing, terrorising and grooming children for sex. We don’t want more of the same. I don’t care where they go, but not here, please. They would be better served by going to some Moslem country where at least they would not be able to cause such mayhem because that society would not allow it. We in Europe have been truly stupid, but we have learned our lesson.

  5. Uh, more sharia advocates, more rapes and murders, church burnings…

    No, I don’t think so.

Perhaps a handful are eager to denounce Hamas, aid in its destruction, renounce radical Islam….these might be candidates for immigration to Western countries. They would have to be very carefully vetted, of course.

  6. I’m glad this Shmuel-Eliyahu is not my Rabbi.
Palestinians, mostly Moslems, would feel much more at home in Moslem countries. Of course they would love to get EU or US or Canadian salaries but if that entails investing all their time trying to convert their benefactors to djimmi status, those benefactors are likely to protest.
Paying Hamas to let them go is also not a real solution, except for Hamas, and they will charge ever more if they see the money coming.
I haven’t quoted Joe for a whole, but “Come on, man!”
