How is it possible to run a country like this? How is it possible to win a war like this?

Caroline Glick tweeted:

The government ordered the IDF to practice a scenario of overturning the PA forces and here we see that once again the General Staff refused an order. How is it possible to run a country like this? How is it possible to win a war like this?

This was in response to the following comment tweeted by Elisha Yared:

The divisional exercise held yesterday in northern Samaria and published this evening on the Jewish Voice website is nothing less than crazy!

At the beginning of the week, the IDF conducted an exercise in the Menasha Brigade located in the Jenin area, during which they practiced a scenario in which many terrorists infiltrate the settlements by vehicle and on foot, cross the separation fence towards the Gilboa settlements, Wadi Ara, the Nitsani Oz industrial area and other places, carry out kidnapping and murder of citizens and manage to take over a series of settlements.

However, contrary to the cabinet’s order that instructed the IDF about a month and a half ago to prepare for a “cane reversal” by the Palestinian Authority, which is fully complicit in terrorism, the exercise is actually based on the imaginary scenario in which the mechanisms of the Palestinian Authority help the IDF to stop the attack (!)

In a practiced exercise, it appears that a situation in which during the attack when additional infiltrations, murders and kidnappings occur, the security mechanisms of the Palestinian Authority request to send dozens of armed policemen to the fence area to “assist in stopping the attack”.

The IDF forces, as part of the exercise, gave the approval for this. The armed men are sent in a group of 30 armed men each, dressed in civilian clothes, to the area of ??the separation fence.

And as if it were a parallel universe, another scenario was introduced into the exercise that takes place in the middle of the attack, in which a report is received in the MTC (Director of Coordination and Liaison) about an Arab child who fell into a cistern and the forces are required to handle the rescue event in the middle of the Simchat Torah 2 massacre that is taking place at those exact moments.

It’s psychotic. psycho. Psycho by any measure!!

If I hadn’t been exposed to it firsthand I would have refused to believe that a security system that experienced a massacre a moment ago could reach such madness and distortion.

Another amazing detail is that from the point of view of the IDF in the exercise, the Fatah movement is supposed to prevent more civilians from coming to the fence and actually cooperate with the IDF, this when Fatah members are already up to their necks involved in attacks. For example, the Fatah secretary of the Jenin area, Ata Abu Ramila, was arrested about a month ago on suspicion of extensive terrorist activity and serious incitement against Israel.

The IDF’s expectation is that Abu Ramila’s successor and men are the ones who will stop the masses of Arabs from participating in the massacre.

This unimaginable conduct shows, unfortunately, that the senior officials of the security establishment and the POW Central Command are still deeply in the dark.

Jews, when the day comes there will be no one to protect you.

  1. This is another example of the serious problem Israel has with its IDF and security establishment. In a way you could say the problem is they are WOKE.

In other words, they have a persistent false belief that the majority of Palestinians just want a state of their own, and if given one the entire problem will go away, and the Middle East will be a paradise of peace.

I just watched a webinar today in which two gentlemen, one former Shin Bet the other former Mossad agent, also spoke about the intelligence failures prior to October 7th as if they were all caused by Bibi and his ministers. They too share this fixed false belief (otherwise called a delusion) in Palestinian victimhood, and they simply cannot get this false belief out of their heads.

It blinds them to the reality that the vast majority of Palestinians in the West Bank SUPPORT HAMAS and DO NOT WANT A STATE OF THEIR OWN.

Their belief in the goodness of the Palestinian people and the badness of Bibi is what makes them feel virtuous and good about themselves. They just cannot see around this.

To me, these personal and political views should be considered disabling and career ending for any individual who wants to work protecting Israel’s national security.

These are people who should be working in the PA or working as social workers for the Palestinians, as their empathy is deep and genuine. But they should not be working to protect Israel from an enemy that is genocidal. These people are simply incapable of meeting the requirements of the job.

How can Israel survive with an army headed by people like this and with security agencies loaded with similarly impaired professionals?

Perhaps as the intelligence failures are studied after this war, someone can come up with a plan for assessing all individuals employed in the IDF and security agencies for impairment of reality testing and for a commitment to putting the needs of the genocidal enemy above the needs of the Israeli people.

  2. Sorry, this article tells us that everybody is upset about something the high command was supposed to carry out but didn’t. I have no idea what that refused command was, whether the refusal maybe even made sense or what came out of the whole story.
    Please reconsider and try again!
