When We Said “Never Again,” We Meant It

T. Belman. The US and the UK ordered Israel not to start her invasion of Gaza until American and British hostages are released. That was the reason for the “friendly” visit by both Biden and Sunak recently. How long does Israel have to wait? What was Israel promised in return?

Elsewhere I read that the humanitarian corridor has been opened in exchange for American and British citizerns to be let out. Hopefully these humanitarian supplies  will remain in the south forcing all Gazans to go south to get them.  But of course Hamas has other plans and this is Hamas controlled territory.

by Victor Rosenthal

My heart is breaking. What I surmised yesterday, but was afraid to write has turned out to be true. I have never wanted to be wrong more than I do this morning. But I can’t pretend that “it will be OK,” as Israelis like to say.

The IDF has been ready for some time to begin the operation to eliminate Hamas from Gaza. The plans were made long ago, and updated regularly. Hundreds of thousands of reservists have left their jobs and families, at great expense to the government. The tanks are poised near the border. Why aren’t they moving?

The reason is that they have been ordered not to by the Americans. Whether or not they planned it, Hamas struck gold when some twelve Americans and ten British subjects were included among the roughly 200 hostages that were carried back to Gaza by the terrorists. Now negotiations are taking place, brokered by the despicable Qatari regime, to obtain their release. The demonic Hamas have released two American women (for what in return?) to prove that a deal is possible.

I’m not surprised and I’m not criticizing the US president and British PM for trying to protect their people. That is the top job of a government – a job, incidentally, that ours has been failing to do for some time. But that’s another story.

Now our government has a different job. This is our last chance, after the disasters of Oslo, the withdrawal from Gaza, the Second Lebanon War, the Shalit trade, the ongoing loss of Area C, and countless other losses and humiliations, to end our slide to destruction. If Hamas is not ripped out of Gaza by its roots, the immediate result will be the loss of the northern and southern parts of our country (who would live there?) and the evaporation of any honor and deterrence that the State of Israel still has. And then there will be no peace agreement with Saudi Arabia, no hope of preventing a nuclear Iran, and no possibility of obtaining sovereignty in the strategic hill country and the Jordan Valley. We are suffering the death by a thousand cuts, and today the knife is poised over a vital artery. We are at the point of no return.

Israel today has no choice but to invade Gaza and wipe out every trace of the poison that poured out of it two weeks ago today. Otherwise, we are finished here. And if we are finished, the Jewish people are finished too, perhaps for another 2000 years or perhaps forever.

The situation of the hostages, American, British, and Israeli, is horrific. You may ask: would I say the same thing if my children were among them? Of course not, because I am only human. But that doesn’t make me wrong.

Maybe there is some magic by which the IDF can effect an Entebbe-like rescue. Who knows? I’m sure the IDF is trying mightily right now to locate them. If we invade now we may lose some or all of them, and if there is hope of rescue, then perhaps we can delay a few days longer. Of course, we have already lost 1400. And every day the international pressure not to invade, thanks to the media’s embrace of Hamas lies about its suffering civilians, is growing, along with the vicious antisemitism that our humiliation feeds.

My heart is breaking. But I say to the Prime Minister, the Minister of Defense, and the Chief of Staff: do it. Give the order to start the tanks, to open fire with the artillery, to bomb every military target (even if it is called a “school” or a “hospital” or if it is the property of the UN). Do not allow humanitarian aid into Gaza, force Egypt to open the Rafah crossing, and let the world community express its love for the Gazan civilians there, in the northern Sinai. Make the campaign as short as possible and as brutal as necessary.

Show the world: when we said “never again,” we meant it.

America is a very powerful culture and has an enormous changing effect on people

I think the reason that Anglo-American culture only works for the US and Great Britain but not for other countries, especially the ones like Israel or Russia (who tried hard to conform to it in order to join “the civilized free world”) is that Anglo-American foreign and domestic politics has been for hundreds of years based on the divide-and-rule methods which the US and Great Britain have developed to a level of high art (whether consciously or not – I don’t know).

It was done initially by England in order to prevent foreign enemies from attacking the country on its own soil (instead, those “adversaries” were kept busy fighting each other), and in order to prevent England’s own subjects/citizens from uniting against the government and fomenting revolutions within the country.

However, when countries such as Israel and Russia (for example) which happen to be almost continuously under attack from the said “civilized free world” (for different and unrelated reasons) start thoughtlessly copying the above divide-and-rule methods and using them in their own politics, they become the proverbial “house divided against itself [which] cannot stand.”

We just witnessed a great example of this when Israel turned into “a house divided against itself” and started falling apart as a country, the event which was only stopped by the Hamas invasion on the 7th of October.

  2. Reader you have put it in a nutshell and actually is a very important thought for me. And I value insights like that.

If the Israeli culture had absorbed ukraine (the whole experience from 1905 to 1955 approx) then all would be different and this latest Pogrom situation would not be

  3. As regards Michael etc for reasons I cannot fathom this group on Israpundit draw a line under the Holocaust. Not connected to the present they say . Talk about bizarre that is bizarre.

    I suggest a reason.

This whole Ukrainian history shows the key factor the role of leadership and the glorious role of the Jews unity with Bolshevism

    In 1918 fighting the Pogroms

Young people need to be politically based on that history

    Knowledge is a preparation.

For Peloni that is a bizarre idea. Why?

    Weirder and Weirder.

  4. Peloni

I am puzzled when you challenge 2 not generally accepted but totally accepts FACTS

The notion that there is something ‘fatal’ in the character of the American influence upon Israel seems quite a bizarre statement to make. Even more bizarre than this is that your only defense of this statement is to cite Trotsky once again as your example par excellance. I don’t agree with you in any event, but the basis of your argument does seem quite arbitrary.

America is a very powerful culture and has an enormous changing effect on people, it is also that with the Irish.

    Very much accepted.

I don’t see how that is bizarre. In fact it is bizarre to be claiming that is bizarre

I get the feeling you are arguing over nothing

  5. @FelixQuigley

The terms “communism”, “socialism”, “marxism”, “Trotsky” are merely swear words for most people.

The only thing they know about socialism. for example, is that is some awful things that Stalin did.

What I find really amazing that the terms “Nazism”, “fascism”, “Hitler”, etc. are not used as swear words or accusations at all!

As soon as someone tries it, someone pops up and virtuously argues that using these words amounts to trivializing the Holocaust!

Anyway, Nazis are entitled to free speech, they are not some leftist commies!

  6. The demonic Hamas have released two American women (for what in return?)

    20 trucks of “humanitarian aid”.

Theoretically, if it continues like this (assuming all the hostages are released), Hamas could get 20×100 = 2,000 trucks of the stuff.

    WOW!

It will pay handsomely for them to keep taking hostages.

  7. @HoneyBee
    @John
    Very well said.

The nanny state notion that the public should be restrained from participating in their own self defense and instead trusting in state institutions and infrastructure was always a tragically flawed concept, and one which has come to benefit the terrorists over the years, but never more so than on October 7. This lesson should not have required the recent tragedy to demonstrate the absolute need of the public’s participation in the home defense. In fact, this is why Ben Gvir has been actively distributing arms to the public since coming to office, albeit at a far too slow uptake by the public.

  8. John, well said. Not arming and training Israeli citizens, in the face of constant threat, was/is a horrible mistake of the left. Everything thing the left touches it destroys, utterly

  9. John you attack communism. Why?

Never say the Communist, woke Jews of Israel.

There is no right to attack communism WITHOUT CHALLENGE

  10. Felix-

It’s obvious that John Galt is being sarcastic, and accusatory of Israeli stupidity-even criminality-forn not allowing citizens to possess defensive weapons in he most dangerous area in the world, where the next passer-by can suddenly spring at you with a carving knife. .

  11. Consider Hamas mentality. And the hospital explosion in the car park. They store beneath the hospital. They wheeled it out. It exploded on them (in the hospital car park). Seems possible to me.

As Glick said critically ISRAEL WAITED

Israel does not have any adequate leadership

    Glick said for an hour

That hour delay tells the problem.

    WE DO NOT BOMB HOSPITALS

    had to be instant response

    Israel is practically leaderless!

    As by way of contrast

In 1918 to 1922 in Ukraine area Leon Trotsky had his train, incessant political campaigning, and due to role in 1905 Revolution had huge political respect…and to cut this short HE WON and he thereby saved a million Jewish lives.

  12. Edgar is correct and Ted is also on the ball in that all of today’s politics was laid down by Christianity.

It was the millenia of viciousness against the Jews by the Church that is the very foundation of the Hamas strategy

That is simply a burning present reality

Israeli leadership by different processes have adapted to same

Will not win with such leaders

On Israpundit this poison is carried in by Michael and by a massive number of others who treacherous give me silent treatment

  13. I just do not see how Israel can defeat Hamas under present Israeli leadership.

This leadership problem is built in. Herzl was reacting to Antisemitism and not questioning the cause of Antisemitism

As a precondition for wiping it out.

Why has Sebastien stopped researching? Did he say his research on New York was.lost?

  14. One thing stands out for me and it has always done. In not just this critical moment but always there is poor messaging by Israel. Really really poor.

Let’s learn from the greatest mind. In the Civil War Trotsky employed Czarist generals who were experts. A science.

Think of how brilliant that is.

And Trotsky used his power (of the state) to “TELL THE STORY”.

In fact hurtling by special train with his teams on that train, all to that aim.

I have never seen Israel do that.

But can it. Trotsky after all was a very special creation by fate and his Marxist training.

    And he won.

Israel is made up of Jews from many. Obviously they brought these influence.

A big influence was the American ruling class.

Many Jews became the Mirror Image in every way of the dominant American Imperialism.

That is supremely simple to demonstrate through history.

And the results have been fatal

That fact is far more important than all the writing being done by the Israeli Victors and Martins.

Of course to attack these points is very easy but do not attack from ignorance. You have to not ignore my references

E.G. civil war, leadership, detail of history, lessons from history

I don’t expect any reply. Why not?

To understand why consider the low level of content presented on this site or just read the only other comment of John Galt as it is very stunted indeed. A 9 year old could do better. And that’s the level in this huge crisis for Jews.

  15. Never Again

……however that doesn’t mean we will allow our Jews in Israel to arm themselves so their families are not murdered by Muslims. No, no, no that is not possible. Mizrahi, Sephardi and Orthodox Jews with guns? Never say the Communist, woke Jews of Israel.
