T. Belman. This is an attempt to destroy democracy not defend it. Thankfully the police are doing their job.
Protesters claim that ‘for the first time in the country’s history, all four gates to the Knesset are blocked. ‘
As the Knesset continued to discuss the bill to reduce the reasonableness standard ahead of the vote in its second and third reading later in the day, anti-government and anti-judicial reform demonstrators attempted to block the access routes to the Knesset.
According to the Kaplan protest group, they carried out a “siege on the Knesset – for the first time in the country’s history, all four gates to the Knesset are blocked.” Israel National News has learned from the Knesset that despite this, one of the entrances remains open, and MKs can enter through it.
The police prepared ahead of time for the possibility of a demonstration and immediately began to forcefully remove the demonstrators from the moment they arrived. A water cannon was also used to assist in clearing the demonstrators.
“The police continue to work at this moment in Jerusalem to disperse and push back rioters that are unlawfully blocking roads this morning, with some of them tieing themselves to each other at several locations on routes near the Knesset and on Hamiyasdim St. After the rioters did not obey the officers’ instructions to disperse and to stop rioting, they began to use riot dispersal tools and forcefully remove them. Israel Police will continue to allow lawful protests, but it will not allow the disturbance of public order, and it will use all tools at its disposal to fight any violators of law and order,” stated the police.
Due to the demonstrations, traffic disruptions and road closures are expected.
They need to be treated the way Biden treated the Jan. 6 protestors or Trudeau the truckers. If there’s too many of them. than just some, randomly. That might be even more frightening. Those weren’t attempted coups. This, clearly is. Lapid, Barak, and Olmert should be brought up on charges for inciting them.
At last! I bet this goes on Ben Gvir’s account…
