Galina:
Scott Ritter
In Russia, he is presented as a retired Marine Corps intelligence officer and former US Rapid Deployment Force analyst.
His military career was “put an end” after he was suspected of working for foreign intelligence. Scott married Marina Khotiashvili, a former Soviet translator who was linked to the KGB by US intelligence agencies. Ritter was fired and forced to testify before the US Senate. After those events, he immediately became an insane critic of the international policy of the United States and NATO, and later a sympathizer of the Kremlin.
Before the start of a full-scale war, Ritter stated that NATO bases were allegedly located on the territory of Ukraine. Then he praised Russia’s so-called “special operation” in Ukraine as a standard of military art and called the actions of the occupiers “humane” because they “do not storm big cities and do not kill civilians.” But the height of cynicism and mockery are his comments about Butch.
After the version with the fake about Bucha from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation was easily refuted by numerous documentary evidence, the Kremlin propaganda decided to invent another fake. Thus, numerous “news” appeared under the heading “American military analyst accused Kiev of killing people in Bucha”, reprinted by RIA Novosti, Rossiyskaya Gazeta, REN TV, Moskovsky Komsomolets and other media, as well as bots under any news about Bucha in social networks.
“American military analyst”, said that the results of his analysis of events in the city of Bucha. point to the involvement of Ukrainian troops in the killing of civilians. Ritter said that Russian troops who were in Bucha for several weeks allegedly managed to establish relations with the local population and built “They exchanged their dry rations for food. The inhabitants of Bucha gave them eggs, milk, cheese, and the Russians gave their dry rations, flour, salt, sugar, meat,” the American said.
My remark
I wonder how he did the analysis on Butcha? Was he there himself? He walked through the ruins and personally examined the dead, did he determine the ownership of the weapon? Did he personally distribute military food to the unfortunate people?”
Questionable biography of Mr. Ritter
Scott Ritter was indeed the UN weapons inspector in Iraq from 1991 to 1998, but a lot of interesting things have happened in his biography since then. He was suspected of working for foreign intelligence – suspicious, in particular, of his marriage to Marina Khatiashvili, a former Soviet Georgian translator for an American team that monitored the implementation of the arms control pact in Soviet Votkinsk. As part of her service, she had to report to the KGB at that time. In 1998, Ritter resigned, disappointed and accusing the White House of being too soft on the disarmament of Iraq. After that, he had to testify before the US Senate, and his main opponent in the Senate was Joe Biden. (my note:This is probably why Ritter hates Biden)
There are piquant episodes in Ritter’s biography. In 2009, Scott was charged with child molestation. In 2011, the court found him guilty and sent him to prison. In 2014, the pedophile was released on parole. In June 2001, he was charged with trying to arrange a meeting with an undercover police officer posing as a 16-year-old girl. The charge was dropped and the case closed after a six-month probationary period. However, in November 2009, he was again detained for communicating with a police bait, whom he met in an Internet chat. Police said he exposed himself via webcam after a police officer repeatedly introduced himself as a 15-year-old girl.
According to Ritter himself, he thought he was talking to an adult woman acting out her fantasies. He was charged with “unlawful contact with a minor, criminal use of means of communication, corrupting a minor, indecent exposure, possession of the instrument of crime, attempted crime and incitement to criminal liability.” Ritter turned down a plea deal and was found guilty of everything but “attempted crime”. He was sent to prison in March 2012 and released on parole in September 2014
Since 2019, Ritter has begun writing regularly for the Kremlin-controlled RT. A month after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Delfi drew attention to a propaganda video citing Ritter’s opinion that the Russian military was fighting, allegedly deliberately limiting its capabilities for humanitarian reasons. And after the tragedy in Bucha, Ritter began to make numerous “revelations”, accusing Ukraine of “crimes against humanity” and calling Biden a “war criminal” for “seeking to shift the blame for the killings in Bucha” to Russia (Ritter banned on Twitter).
Recently, a book by Scott Ritter was published in Russia. The book was translated into Russian and presented to readers. The author received a fee for his book in Russia.
“Maybe you will move to us for permanent residence?” one of the readers asked during a meeting with the writer.
And after all this, you are posting videos and posts of this pedophile getting paid for his performances in state-controlled
Ritter earns income from Russian media and from book sales in Russia. In fact, he is Putin’s “pocket” man.
What kind of objectivity or independent analytics can you hear from this person?
Ted:
Excellent research.
You have seriously called into question his character and his credibility but not his message which is:
- The US caused the war.
- The US has lost the war.
- The US is lying about it all.
This same message is repeated by:
- Col Douglas Macgregor
- Dr Jeffrey Sachs
- Brian Berletic of The New Atlas
- Clayton Morris of Redacted
- Alexander Mecouris
- All the people who interview them
- Dr Steve Turley
- TFI GLOBAL
and many others that I don’t follow.
Galina:
It is a pity that you did not understand my main idea. He works for Putin and his pack. Relatively speaking, Putin is his employer. And do you think this gentleman would speak differently? As for the others, I don’t know them. They do not appear on Russian television or publish books in Russia. On your site, unfortunately, there are no alternative opinions of American experts regarding this war unleashed by Putin.
Many of our dissidents many years ago, when there was no Maidan in Ukraine, predicted that Putin would start a war. They clearly named all the reasons. Unfortunately, Putin despicably killed some of them with the hands of the FSB (former Prime Minister Nemtsov, Starovoitova’s analyst). Our famous journalist Novodvorskaya (she spent many years in prisons and psychiatric hospitals under the USSR) very clearly defined the essence of Putin.
And do you think that Putin succumbed to America’s “provocations”? Putin is a bastard and a beast, but not a fool. True, he was wrong with NATO – now NATO has become even closer and stretched for 1700 km at the western borders. Why do you think Putin opened the borders with Georgia right now and allowed flights to it? And to provoke this country and prevent it from joining the EU.
If Putin wins the war in Ukraine (God forbid), he will immediately attack Georgia, Moldova, the Baltic states and even Poland. The whole normal world should help Ukraine so that Europe does not collapse. Thanks to America and European countries for helpness Ukraine
I told Galina
“I am not adverse to publishing contrary opinion. I will also look for an American who disagrees with me. But most Americans who do so are bought and paid for by the US government.”
Galina:
You see, even America has experts paid by the state or other interested parties.
So, you have to do an exciting job – to find truly independent experts. I advise you to carefully study their biographies. In my opinion, they should not serve in state structures, they should be absolutely independent.
But it’s easier for you. America has freedom of speech. No one goes to jail for expressing an opinion. Even in Israel there are many people who support the war in Ukraine. They run around Israel with red and Russian flags, shouting different slogans, but they are not arrested for it. There is no freedom of speech in Russia. All those who tried to object to the war received prison terms of 6 to 8 years. Just yesterday, Mikhail Krieger received 7 years in prison for speaking out against the war. Navalny received 9 years, Kara-Murza faces up to 25 years. The rest of the dissidents were kicked out of Russia (they got off easy).
Very interesting personalities. “Good Society” for Ritter
Douglas Macgregor
An August 5, 2020 commentary by the US newspaper The Washington Post judged Macgregor to be “a racist crackpot”, pro- Putin , anti- Angela Merkel and even worse than Richard Grenell on the transatlantic relationship. [33]
Because of Macgregor’s comments about Germany’s government and history, the American Jewish Committee asked US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to withdraw Macgregor’s nomination for the post of ambassador to Berlin. Concerns about Macgregor’s comments in the context of his nomination were also expressed by representatives from the Anti-Defamation League , B’nai B’rith and StandWithUs . [34]

Here is another instance of a person with a dubious biography. And it’s not even that he was sued. But the fact is that he, like Ritter, works for the Russian media
Alexander Merkuris
Russian media columnist (RT, Voices of Russia and russia-insider.com) Alexander Merkuris was fired from the profession in 2012 after a disciplinary tribunal found that he had brought the profession into disrepute due to his handling of Lorna Jamus’ lawsuit, and he stated that he was kidnapped by high-ranking lawyers. He even claimed that Lord Phillips, Chief Justice kidnapped him and offered him a £50,000 bribe to close the case. He quit his job, went into debt, and fell into a suicidal depression. Malpractice in the National Health Service worsened his condition, pushing him to commit suicide.
But he looked at the stars and everything was fine with him and he became an expert on literally everything.
Do you specifically select experts with dubious backgrounds? Before recommending such persons, it would probably be necessary to check their biographies, their state of mind, how honest they are and find out whom they receive money from.
Ted:
America is not as bad as Russia but it is working on it.
Please review my article The pot is calling the kettle, black .
Without going into great detail I wrote what was going on. It is much worse than you can imagine.
Elections have been rigged for at at least 20 years. Trump won by a landslide in 2020 but the establishment media and the Democratic party still deny that it was stolen. The amount of election fraud is mind-blowing.
Trump has been persecuted and prosecuted since he won in 2016. The establishment perpetrated the Russia Hoax which was a total lie. The Durham Report just released confirmed the complicity of Hillary Clinton, the FBI and the Department of Justice.
Trump held a big rally in Washington on Jan 6, 2021 protesting the theft.. He is blamed for the violence which took place at Congress, The government labeled all participants as “insurrectionists” , incarcerated many of them and they are still languishing in Prison. Congress held hearings on the Jan 6 “insurrection”. It was a total kangaroo court. Evidence was suppressed etc.
From The American Gulag Chronicles
Those who have been convicted have been given long prison terms. The truth of the matter is that the government aided and abetted the “insurrection”: and invited many people into the building. The government perpetrated the violence.
The government and the Main Stream Media smear anybody who stands up to them. They all tout the same line. Everybody who challenges them or their narrative is smeared, fired and blackballed. This includes Trump, Macgregor and Berletic.
The Washington Post and the NYT are the worst but they all participate.
The Covid pandemic was a “plandemic”. It was totally rigged. Same for the Climate Change Hoax.
Galina:
Why are you surprised? And here the hand of Russia is visible. Hundreds of thousands of hackers launched their bots in the Trump election. RT editor-in-chief Simonyan traveled around Moscow with an American flag and a portrait of Trump. In what country can this happen? This is how Americans will travel around America with a flag and a portrait of Putin.
Peloni
Are you deliberately not trying to understand me
I have just been arguing this is not aimed at conquering Ukraine
Remember back one day!!!
@Felix
I disagree with this, and what’s more, I suspect that Putin would disagree as well. We will see if I am correct in assessing Putin’s outlook, but he has handled this war in an ariculately careful manner thus far, and does not in any way appear to be changing that position. Still, Bakhmut has now fallen, next year is an election year, and the furver for a stronger response has been well described by the Russian bloggers for some time now. I still don’t believe that Putin will, nor should, rise to such bait. Russia has no designs or ability to conquer the world as his detractors endlessly blather about, and given that this is in fact an accurate assessment, he will have an interest in mending fences in the near or distant future. An unnecessarily ruthless response by Russia would undermine any potential of a return to rationality in the future, and this would not benefit Russia, not in the near or long term.
In actual fact in order to prevent a terrible genocide of Russian people the Russian army in a limited engagement moved in and inside two months the Ukraine Fascism sued for peace in April. But the American NeoCons led by Biden and the British of Johnson, close to Truss, advised Zelensky to go for all out war.
Russia to its credit was able to reassess and remobilise and have defeated insuperable odds.
Now the more ruthless is Russia in the new end game the better for the world.
And Russia must not be left fighting on its own because it is and will be fighting for us all.
The danger is therefore only in the west and in treachery of leadership.
@efirub
She is right? Right about what? She never addresses the issues. Instead, Galina, as do you, focuses on Russia and why Russia should be overthrown stating that every outrage Ted references which was made by the West was ‘the long hand of Putin’ which is absurdly self-serving and intellectually dishonest. Should this really the limit of the conversation relating to what has taken place in Ukraine? Of course, it does reveal the true motivation of Galina and yourself, but I would suggest that it is well off the mark of relevance to the cause of the war.
Of course you do admit that
Acting stupid? The US organized the overthrow of the legitimately elected Ukrainian govt, eviscerating not only the Budapest Memorandum but the Ukrainian constitution. In its place they installed literal Nazis into the most sensitive positions of the govt. Govt policy has been coerced, manipulated and altered in direct response to fascist political violence under both Poroshenko and Zelensky.
Is ‘stupid’ how you define the Ukrainians bombing of residential areas in Dombas due to the fact that they wouldn’t accept the overthrow of their govt by a foreign power? Even after it was finally agreed to hold an election some 4months after the coup, about 15% of the Ukrainian population, naturally the ethnic Russians, were kept from participating – they wouldn’t even allow those who had fled the country due to the anti-ethnic Russian violence to vote. Missing in all of this is any mention of Putin, though it suits Galina’s, and perhaps your own, goal of regime changing Russia to ignore these facts, but ignoring them does not make them less relevant to them having been the initial cause of the war.
Personally, I don’t see this as a choice between Russia and Ukraine as you and Galina suggest. Russia has every bit right to respond to a NATO trained, armed, and funded army of 120K massing on its borders, in large part organized with literally Nazi regiments who were actively slaughtering ethnic Russians and none of this is impacted by what is played on Russia’s TV’s.
Still, accepting your report of the Nazi propaganda playing on their TV’s doesn’t compare to having literal Nazi formations in Ukraine’s army, murdering thousands of their own citizens simply to eliminate the pluralist vision which had peacefully existed in the county prior to the US coup installed a fascist regime? Again, I still don’t see this as a popularity contest between these two nations, but if I did, well, I don’t think Ukraine has earned our support, irregardless of Russian television programming. Perhaps you or Galina would disagree?
A few real world consequences which followed the US overthrow of Ukraine:
**Andriye Parubiy was co-founder of the Nazi Social Nationalist party and was also Commandant of the Maidan, responsible for the paramiltarists who carried out the Maidan massacre and had coordinated the seizure of multiple armories throughout eastern Ukraine, as a ‘backup plan’ in case the American coordinated Maidan coup failed. After the US sponsored coup proved successful, Parubiy was named as head of the Ukrainian version of the NSA, which controls internal and external security matters. He held this position til the disaster when the Ukrainian army was soundly defeated in the fall of 2014. Following this, Parubiy became Prime Minister from 2016-19.
**Vadym Troyan a fascist paramilitarist, former #2 in Azov, came to run the police in Kiev at the end of 2014, and later he was promoted to be the deputy head of police where he made appointments around the country.
**The Party of Regions, POM, a pluralist, leftist advocating political party in Ukraine, received the largest number of votes in every region of the Ukraine except Galicia and Volyn from 2006 til 2014 when, a few months following the American coup, it was totally banned in Ukraine. Both the President and Prime Minister who were overthrown by the US coup were members of the Party of Regions.
None of this is the work of Putin nor his ‘long arm’ in the West. This was the work of the anti-Putin Neocons whose devilry is the source for all the troubles that have befallen Ukraine.
If either you or Galina have an interest, I would GLADLY care to pursue this conversation further, but the source of the war is NOT in Russia. It is in the WEST and with the Western allied FASCISTS of UKRAINE.
Galina could be real or an informational plant
But anyway what she says has to be answered
As Peloni says
“I would suggest that it would have been better for Galina to have actually addressed the issues raised by Ted’s sources, but similarly I would suggest that it would be more useful if you (or Felix) could address the complaints she raises about Russia and Putin, if you have something credible to challenge about her complaints which might be more substantive than where Galina might or might not have been born.”
The problem here with Peloni is that I find at the least he doesn’t answer her himself.
So why does Peloni not do so? I am genuinely puzzled.
Ted
I cannot get over you saying that.
Everything that a person says has to be taken in context and you were having a big dIg against Russia at the time Russia fights for its very EXISTENCE AS A NATION
It is just wrong.
I am still awaiting a reply from Zorn, you and Peloni re my ICC point No hurry though. When you’re all ready.
Efirub
So you think they just started being in your eyes a little mischievous?
That is the murder of six millions of Jews in the Holocaust
Are you really as STUPID IGNORANT as you sound
You insult Jews
“Ukrainians are not angels, especially during WW2”
In relation to Galina I asked the bot called Nova about the coup claim
It answered
“As an AI language model, I cannot fully answer your question definitively as it is a matter of interpretation and historical debate. However, I can provide you with some information to help you form your own opinion.
Some historians argue that the Russian Revolution was a true popular revolution, aimed at overthrowing the oppressive Romanov monarchy and creating a socialist state. They point to the popular support for the Bolsheviks and the vast social and economic changes that resulted from the revolution.
Others contend that the revolution lacked true popular support and was instead engineered by a small group of elites – the Bolsheviks – who used force and manipulation to seize power. They view the events of 1917 as a coup rather than a genuine revolution.
Ultimately, the answer to your question may depend on your interpretation of events and the sources you consult.”
Me
TROTSKY was arrested by the British in Newfoundland as he made his way from New York to Russia
But they released him and the claim is due to popular support IN RUSSIA.
The immediate question is was Trotsky a popular figure among the workers in Russia and also why that could be”
@Tanna
@Leon
No dessert for you!
Galina is right and Ted is wrong. Ukrainians are not angels, especially during WW2, but now Russians with Putin are much worse. You don’t understand the situation there.
Russia now is an evil empire. You can’t imagine the demagoguery on their TV and media. It is absolutely sick
nazi propaganda. Yes, Ukrainians act sometimes real stupid, but it is not a reason to bomb the country. Ted you are on the wrong side in this conflict, because you don’t understand the real situation.
Excellent point Ted. “You have seriously called into question his character and his credibility but not his message”
I have learned in the last 40 years that most people have a hard time separating these out and by default they have difficulty understanding both the man and his message.
Mr. Zorn, I doubt anyone living in a war zone much concerned about heart attacks from diet and scurvy. One could catch a bullet or two while shopping for vegetables. 🙂
@Vivarto
Galina writes:
I answer: Mr. Vivarto writes some nonsense and heresy. He is completely illiterate and ignorant person.
Firstly, these writers have never been published in the newspapers of the Russian Empire, in the USSR and, of course, in the Russian Federation. Some even died before the USSR appeared. Moreover, they did not appear in any media. They were not propagandists on our channels. They were independent writers in their own countries. They did not even depend on their governments, not to mention Russia in any of its statuses. Therefore, the comparison is not correct.
Let me remind Mr. Vivarto the biography of the excellent writers mentioned
Mark Twain died in 1916 and therefore could not receive money from the USSR and Russia in any way (coup in 1917, the USSR was created in 1922, Russia in 1991).
Hemingway died in 1961, Russia could not pay him money, because the first edition of Hemingway’s four-volume edition took place only in 1968.
Jack London died in 1916. The first time he was published in the USSR was only in 1954
And most importantly, usually the USSR has always brazenly violated copyrights and never paid copyright money to anyone. In the worst case, he bought books and translated them into thieves, at best, the writers who lived in those days gave away their copyright for nothing for the USSR.
Gentlemens, if you want to criticize me, you will study the history of my country, or at least the history of your country.
And so that you calm down and do not wonder who I am, read on:
I was born and lived in Russia for 78 years. I lived through three eras – Stalinism, survived Khrushchev and Brezhnev and other men. I hope to survive Putin (Stalin number 2). During last 2 years I am living in Germany. I’m Jewish. My mother was born in Ukraine, studied in Moscow. My grandparents lived in Ukraine, spoke Ukrainian and Yiddish, and after moving to Moscow they mastered Russian.
P.S. My English is not extra, but you understand me, don’t you?
I too think that you have engaged ‘Galina’ for far too long. An honest political analyst would agree that both Russia, Ukraine and Putin and Zelensky should not be supported, that they are bad people, bad governments and we should not participate in aiding either side.
As for who’s most to blame for this war, I agree with you Ted: The Biden Administration.
As to who I would prefer to win this war: Russia. Simply because as bad as Putin is, he has never tried to start WWIII. Zelensky has.
Why are we talking about fruits and vegetables?
One last point: “Galina” (I don’t care where she/he or it comes from or lives) is quick to admonish you to quote only unbiased, independent sources but refuses to do so herself! Quoting the Washington Post proves my point.
Thought the complete absence of fruit and vegetables – even preserved – odd, to say the least. This is a heart attack and scurvy diet over time, not to mention constipation, in the short run, no pun intended. Or are these just items nobody trades? Found this:
https://www.cbi.eu/market-information/fresh-fruit-vegetables/what-impact-war-ukraine-exports-fresh-and-processed
Did McGregor use the word CONQUER..if so he’s wrong
Conquer in the sense of smashing Fascism yes
But not to rule Ukraine
It is exactly same as Red Army circa 1944 defeating Bandera and defeat of UKRAINIAN fascists in 1918 to 1919 Pogroms – the true historical roots to this, of which Ted and Peloni do not address
@Felix
Yes I said that but what is your opinion? How do you differ?
Make your case rather than slander me or my opinions.
What is the historical case you refer to?
Ted
You also said to Galina something to effect that America is not as bad as Russia but it is getting there.
AKA Your opinion meaning nothing
Just your opinion that of a Toronto lawyer. No great weight because this is an historical matter and has to be understood in its historical setting. If that is not done there is just “biases being expressed”
@Felix
I never said otherwise.
What I said was that America’s unwillingness to settle the issues may force Putin to conquer all of Ukraine. Macgregor said this and I agree with him.
You see Ted once you excise something danger lies ahead
So what I did write was the following
“Ted is wrong and his line is slanderous to Russia feeding in to American Fascist memes based on Racism.
Putin is not about conquering Ukraine that is the basic lie
Your line of reasoning is defunct.
And your language is not accurate”
You are not in command of the already produced material because Professor John Mearsheimer has already refuted this assertion
If Russia wanted to destroy or conquer Ukraine it would have said so
Therein lies your slander of Russia.
Sheer unadulterated distortion
@Felix
In what way am I wrong and when was I slanderous to Russia?
Please define what and who you consider as an” American Fascist”.
@Raphael
I agree.
@Poloni
Amen to that.
Howard writes:
Ted, I am surprised that you are so impressed with Galina.
She presents several accusations against Ritter, all of which are just that, accusations, certainly not proves.
So she commits two fallacies:
One is confusing accusations with facts.
The fact that he he got paid for his articles published in Russian media and royalties for his book translated to Russian does not make him to a make him “In fact, he is Putin’s “pocket” man.”
Mark Twain, E. Hemingway, Jack London, have also received money from Russia for their translations. That does not make them Russian agents.
Likewise the calling Ritter a pedophile is nonsense. He has in fact not sexualliy abused any child. He has exposed himself to an grown up FBI agent. This happened in adult only online forum. How does Galina know what Ritter was thinking??? He may well have thought that this was a mature woman roleplaying.
Secondly and most importantly
It is completely irrelevant. He presents a certain perspective and supposed facts that need to be checked, and him being or not being a “pedophile” or Putin’s spy, is irrelevant.
But sheeple are unable to think for themselves. Not able to examine the logic and the fact. Their only test of reality is authority. Depending on which herd they belong to, some sheep don’t recognize Ritter’s authority. Who cares.
@peloni
You attack me for my alleged character assassination of “Galina” by using it on me.
Amazing!
@Raphael
This was the point I was trying to make but in a wrong way.
I should have said “Galina” instead of Galina when I questioned where this person was born.
@ Ted Belman, Kudos for going out of your way to be fair and even-handed. You have now done your civic duty, and can cut this Ukrainian/Neocon propagandist free. Nothing more is to be gained by giving her(?) a platform. Regardless of where she was born, she is obviously a paid propagandist, who spouts the Ukrainian line against Russia and Putin, and who has access to information (i.e. derogatory bios) that are not relevant. Enough of Galina, already!
@Reader
Reader, if you would have read even the first two very short paragraphs in the citation I offered previously, you would see that Ted notes that
Why is it so impossible for you to believe that she is actually Russian? It seems a silly point to argue, but like Galina herself, it seems that perhaps you would prefer to attack an individual rather than address the issues they raise.
I would suggest that it would have been better for Galina to have actually addressed the issues raised by Ted’s sources, but similarly I would suggest that it would be more useful if you (or Felix) could address the complaints she raises about Russia and Putin, if you have something credible to challenge about her complaints which might be more substantive than where Galina might or might not have been born.
Character assassination is a low borne tactic which avoids having to discuss hard questions, and unfortunately such low tactics are employed by both sides while ignoring the subject matter being raised.
@peloni
Then “Galina” must be a language learning genius.
Do you always believe everything everyone states on anonymous forums about themselves?
@Reader
I seriously doubt that Galina was born in the US:
I bet Galina was born in the US.
Ted is wrong and his line is slanderous to Russia feeding in to American Fascist memes based on Racism.
Putin is not about conquering Ukraine that is the basic lie
Your line of reasoning is defunct.
And your language is not accurate
I continue to be amazed at the “erudition” of Galina but it is all the American Empire dogma.
She refers to Ritter on BUCHA and queries was Ritter there?
But this is the greatest misconception even lie of all.
You can be IN a certain place and know absolutely nothing.
Theory is actually something else entirely and theory itself a practice is a major thing.
Everything about this Galina is bollox.
@Eve
She wants Putin to be destroyed and Russia to become more democratic. So she is in favour of The Neocon efforts to make it happen.
Putin’s demands were reasonable before Feb 24.2022. I wrote at the time that they should have been accepted. Now some 15 months later, Putin is going to keep what he has conquered and more. It doesn’t look like the US will agree to any gains so Putin has to conquer all of Ukraine to be secure.
Thank you for printing multiple perspectives. My mother’s family was from Shchedrin, her parents and two older sisters came to US in 1922. Eventually 2 more daughters were born here, my mother being the youngest. My maternal grandmother used to write for the Jewish Forward. My grandparents owned first a pushcart and then a deli. Both of my parents were in the communist youth group (American Youth for Democracy) during their teens in Brooklyn, NY.
Every person I know who has come to the US from a Communist country speaks similarly to Galina about the non-existence of liberty in the lands from which they fled. I have no doubt about the truthfulness of this.
I have not heard anyone on this website compliment Putin or attempt to see him through rose colored glasses.
Military analysis by MacGregor has been neutral based upon strength analysis of the two main opposing forces: number of men, number of weapons, number of rounds used daily, etc. None of his analysis was an attempt to make Putin look like Mother Theresa.
Part of the problem for Americans with the war in Ukraine is that America has spent decades in wars in other nations which have not helped those nations nor our own. As a result, many Americans do not want to prosecute wars unless our national security depends upon it. We feel it is not in our interests to be protecting Ukraine’s borders when we are not protecting our own.
We feel that Ukraine should be politically neutral, non-Nato, and the Russian speaking parts of Ukraine should either part of Russia or be given full rights as Ukrainians.
We feel the war should be ended so the killing will be ended as soon as possible. The people who are benefitting the most are the munitions makers and professional neocons who owe their employment positions to the munitions makers.
Galina has worked hard to criticize and delegitimize some people who have given their analysis here.
Maybe all of it is fair criticism.
But her perspective on the war sounds surprisingly similar to the neocons in Washington.
