T. Belman. Satanovsky says that Russian -Israel relations are good. Russia doesn’t stop Israel from bombing Iranian Assets in Syria and keeps Iran from entering a 70 km strip of land at the Syrian Border with Israel. He plays down the Israeli help to Ukraine as being very minor. This part of the discussion starts at 30 minutes.
Russia, like China, believes in non-interference in internal affairs of other countries whereas the US believes in interfering.
A few years ago, I, together with Alex Maistrovoy, wrote
We are joined by Evgeny Satanovsky, a Russian economist, professor and orientalist, one of the leading experts in the field of politics and economics of Israel, as well as other countries of the Middle East. He is the founder and president of the Middle East Institute. From 2001 to 2004, he served as the President of the Russian Jewish Congress.
Should Israel play the harlot with Satanovsky? I think I read about that in the Bibelovich! Ah, here’s a sample! This reads like pulp fiction:
I googled Satanovsky and evidently he is considered a “staunch pro-Putin propagandist”. Does that good or bad? Does that colour his advice?
A very interesting conversation, indeed.
Yes, he really does know what he is talking about.
