Yes, both Sherman and Grant were each quite aware of the truth that victory lay just on the other side of the enemy’s slaughtered forces, no matter where that army happened to choose to be slaughtered.

Russia wants to first kill the enemy before acquiring more land.

It’s an important point. Their entrenched positions allow them a strategic advantage over the Ukrainians who are forced to attack against a well prepared defensive position. This point recalls the mention by Col. McGreggor in a recent interview where he noted that once the smoke cleared, they realized that the Revolutionary Guard had retreated back into Iraq – the war was over, but they had effectively failed in their mission to destroy the enemy forces, which assured the survival of the regime… at least until they faced the RG again 12yrs later when the mission was to destroy the RG was completed, following which the regime fell. Regimes only exist because their respective armies survive. Once their armies disappear, the leaders become like fish in a barrel waiting to be captured or murdered, or both, as was seen with both Sadam Hussein and Ghadaffi.

It is enough to support the notion, as I’v said many times, that the US should not be meddling in this war.

The problem with this notion is that this war is an American war. The US hijacked the Ukrainian govt, chose a govt which pivoted from being a Russian friendly state to a state so hell bent on killing Russians that they immediately launched a war against their own ethnic Russians. After the Ukrainian army being surrounded and defeated twice, the US went about raising a NATO trained, armed and funded army in Ukraine, which was deployed to slaughter the ethnic Russians, just four weeks before Russia entered the war. In lock step with this US buildup in Ukraine, the US and Ukraine threatened Russia with ever greater threats, til Zelensky finally lamented not having a nuclear arsenal with which to attack Russia. Russia invaded about two weeks later.

So, it would be good if the US were to decide to not meddle in this war, but if they hadn’t been meddling, there simply would have been no war in which to meddle. As I say, this war is entirely an American project – from conception to execution to defeat, all American.

If any of this Russian propaganda Ted has been treating us to has any validity, Russia would not have been spending the majority of its “offensives” gaining about 2 km of turf at Avdivka.

Russia wants to first kill the enemy before acquiring more land. So the kill ratio is everything and the movement on the ground is not important at this point.

  5. @Michael @3 minutes 46 seconds, Ritter says, ” A 7:1 kill ratio is unsustainable, this war can’t last much longer.”In response to his interlocutor saying, “IF these numbers are true,” qualifying the documents as internal analysis which might or might not be true. Like the Pentagon Papers, it occurs to me.

I’m glad you noticed that. It’s like the following:

GRAVELLY VOICE: Did Sebastien brutally murder his wife and children?

STORMY NORMIE: Probably not, but he MIGHT have.

GRAVELLY VOICE: Keeping this brutal murder in mind, do you think such a villain deserves to die?

    STORMY: Yes, of course!

Sorry, Sebastien. You’ve just been convicted in abstentia! 😮

Like the Pentagon Papers, it occurs to me.

  7. Ritter never endorsed the “7:1 kill ratio”; it was simply falsely repeated, many times, by the gravelly-voiced interrogator. Ritter himself said the documents were merely briefings, possibly with redactions, and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Peloni, I am well aware of the corruption among the leaders of Ukraine, especially Zelenskyy. It is enough to support the notion, as I’v said many times, that the US should not be meddling in this war. On the other hand, blatant, lying propaganda from site like this “Pseudo-Ritter”, is enough to convince me that the Russians (who are behind this site) are in worse shape than ANYONE has let on. Why else would they so plainly and consistently tell such whoppers?

If any of this Russian propaganda Ted has been treating us to has any validity, Russia would not have been spending the majority of its “offensives” gaining about 2 km of turf at Avdivka. This whole misinformation enterprise, which should have –ZERO– interest to Israel, is a waste of time.
