Despite the Left’s international propaganda campaign claiming that Israel’s judicial reform will render it an autocratic state, the Prime Minister was able to skillfully use his interview with Piers Morgan to deflect the unfounded attacks and set the record straight.
Netanyahu proved why the right appeared to be caught off guard regarding the judicial overhaul and also showed why his role, which was denied to him by the attorney general had been sorely needed over the last few months. Of course this was all by design. The leftwing establishment understood that if they could keep Bibi from helping to settle the dispute, they could claim all sorts of things, which they did.
In the coming month it’s critical for the government and the rightwing to sell the reform package to Israelis and the international community in order to neuter the Antifa style protests.

Well said!
I find Bibi Netanyahu one of the most effective national leaders in speaking about his country. He is not just a passionate supporter of his country and his people, he stays calm despite what might be to someone else very unnerving questions, meant to poke directly at his sense of self. Instead of reacting personally, he stays laser focused on the issues, and clarifies what the problems are.
Despite Piers Morgan’s attempt at “gotcha” questions, Bibi was prepared for this and able to stay calm and focused. He made many good points, and was also objective about aspects of the reform plan that could be negotiated: but he pointed out that his political opponents have so far refused to negotiate! This is exactly the same problem with trying to negotiate with the Palestinians: they refuse to negotiate and refuse to accept Israel as the Jewish homeland.
What remains to be opened to the public is just how much the US government and/or NGOs have orchestrated the protests, just as was done in this country, when private groups funded the busing in to Ferguson Missouri of many protestors who weren’t from Ferguson to make those protests seem much bigger.
These are attempts to change the facts of the situation. The truth is, Netanyahu or the Likud was legitimately voted for and won on the platform of judicial reform.
The creation of these mass demonstrations and whipping up of hysteria is an attempt to hide this fact from people outside of Israel and make it seem as if the government is alone in a sea of rejection. I don’t put it past our government to do all in its power to bring the Netanyahu government to its knees or destroy it. They have tried to stop Netanyahu by funding his opponents in the elections multiple times, and have been funding this opposition. What would Americans feel if another country came here and spent millions of dollars to upturn our elections and paid thousands of people to demonstrate against the government? We would consider it an outrage. That Netanyahu can remain determined and calm in the face of this outrage shows how much character and courage he has.
