Bennett has always been a centrist. Lapid is a liar.

By Ted Belman

Today, Bennett said:

“It’s the right thing for the country, these elections can’t have losers,” stated Bennett, “The day after the elections the right thing for the nation would be the formation of a wide unity government, based on the largest parties from the right and left, and then to include all of the parties that recognize Israel as a Jewish and democratic state. These elections can’t have losers, the whole nation can win. We need a wide unity government.”

This illustrates Bennett’s true colours. In 2013 he brought Lapid into the Netanyahu government. In the last election he formed a partnership with Lapid, which included an Arab Party for the first time.

And now he is calling for it again. Good riddance.

Today, Lapid signed the Israel copy of the maritime deal and said:

“There is a rare consensus among all security organizations on the importance of the agreement. [They] all approve of the deal and its contribution to Israel’s security and our operational needs. It is not every day that an enemy state recognizes the State of Israel, in a written agreement, in front of the entire international community,”

That’s a lot of bullshit. Earlier today, Lebanon’s president denied that a maritime border deal due to be signed later today had “political implications,” after Israel said the deal between the two enemy states amounted to Beirut recognizing Israel.

“Demarcating the southern maritime border is technical work that has no political implications or effects contradicting Lebanon’s foreign policy,” says Lebanon’s President Michel Aoun of the deal between the two enemy states.

Not only are Aoun and Lapid, not signing the same piece of paper but they are not going to be in the same room for signing.  Why would they, they are enemy states with no diplomatic relations. TOI says Lapid signed shortly after “Lebanon’s President Michel Aoun signed a letter confirming that Beirut accepted the deal.” So Lebanon didn’t even sign an agreement. It merely confirmed it was accepting the gift.

As for the deal itself, I listened to a webinar hosted by IDSF just yesterday. The CEO of this major Israeli organization, Amir Avivi, took pains to describe how horrible the agreement was for Israel. The IDSF is made up or retired IDF officers and has a membership of 12,000.

Clearly Lapid and Gantz are more then willing to give pieces of Israel away. Gantz for his part gave away parts of Area C.

Asked what happens in case of a violation by either of the sides, which remain technically at war, US envoy Amos Hochstein said the US would remain a guarantor to help resolve any disputes.

“If one side violates the deal, both sides lose,” Hochstein told reporters.

There is no deal there is only a gift. Without the guarantees there would be no deal or even a gift. The US basically forced this “deal” on Israel. All Israel received was a worthless guarantee.

  1. @Shmuel HaLevi
Interesting point. Just because they had the means to elect a ham sandwich as president and vice president didn’t require that they do so. Yet they did so, none the less. A similar event is taking place in the PA senate race where a relic of the missing link is running in a dead heat with his opponent. Speaking as someone who is not a serious supporter of Dr. Oz, easily, the choice is not a serious one, and yet the polls would have us believe that a man incapable of having a rational conversation is polling at 50%.

It was once noted that the only polling that mattered were those polls taken at the election booth on election day. Unfortunately, we have come to a point where that poll is as malleable and interpretive as any of the others, giving this Ham Sandwich Senate candidate just as much chance of victory as the Ham Sandwich President and his Ham Sandwich Vice President, all of which are the product of the selection by those who likely also selected Obama as well.

Vote on election day and document and report to the local Sheriff any peculiar activities observed, as there will likely be many such activities to report.

  2. There is a rare consensus among all security organizations on the importance of the agreement.

    is completely untrue.

Stating this while the ISDF clearly had admonished this ‘deal’, publishing and providing every member of the Knessett with a declaration of the many reasons this ‘deal’ should be avoided, represents an damnable lie. Any consensus referenced in support of this gifting of Israel’s assets to the Iranian terrorists in Lebanon is easily seen as being not an honest analysis, but a political analysis which will help Israel accept the humbling demand by the Americans to forced agreement upon the Israeli people. Having done so, however, will have a devastating result in the future due to the loss of territory, state assets and submitting to terrorist threats without even the pretense of doing otherwise. All that was achieved with this consession was to make Israel weaker, less profitable, and less secure, each of which will bear a result upon the future.

If there were to be any honest consensus on this deal it would have to be one of absolute shame.

  3. I cannot fathom how did Obama construct a system able to propping a pair of mental basket cases to president and vp and how we got duped into being “led” by a pair of liars, cheats, disloyal nothings.

  4. You are exactly correct, Ted. Giving away pieces of Israel, whether land or sea, to Arab enemies of the state of Israel will not bring peace. There is no piece for peace deal with enemies who refuse your right to exist. The right to exist is the foundational premise of any legitimate deal–anything less is fraud.
