T. Belman. I am disappointed in the responses from Bibi and Shaked. Bibi said that Likud will keep Abbas in isolation and Shaked said she was against a narrow government. Neither said that they would extend sovereignty to Area C or demolish the thousands of illegal Arab buildings in Area C.
Likud in response: The cat is out of the bag – Lapid and Gantz are promoting dangerous concessions to Holocaust denier Mahmoud Abbas.
Zehava Galon and Yair LapidNo credit
Former Knesset member Zehava Galon, who is running for the leadership of the Meretz Party, on Thursday condemned the statement of Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas, who accused Israel of committing “50 holocausts” against Palestinian Arabs, but claimed that Israeli officials should continue to meet with him.
In an interview with the Walla! news website, Galon revealed that Prime Minister Yair Lapid told her at a recent meeting that he “intends to reach a political settlement with the Palestinians through Abbas.”
In addition, she claimed that the relationship with Abbas depends on the Israeli leadership. “When Gantz, in a very smart move in my opinion, invites Abbas to his home – the public understands that he is a partner,” she explained. “There is no such thing as the public, there is leadership, if it is a brave leadership, it says that it is necessary to go for diplomatic moves.”
The Likud responded to Galon’s comments and said, “The cat is out of the bag – Lapid and Gantz are promoting dangerous concessions to Holocaust denier Mahmoud Abbas. After years in which the Likud removed Abbas from the agenda of the world, Lapid and Gantz are bringing him back to center stage. Only the Likud will establish a stable government that will bring Abbas back to isolation, only the Likud will establish a stable national government that will not be dependent on Abbas’ supporters from the Ra’am Party and the Joint List,” said Benjamin Netanyahu’s party.
The Zionist Spirit Party, headed by Ayelet Shaked and Yoaz Hendel, said in response to Galon, “Lapid and Gantz in a narrow left-wing government will lead to the establishment of a Palestinian state. A right-wing person who votes for them should understand the consequences. This is exactly why a narrow left-wing government must not be established. Only the Zionist Spirit will prevent narrow governments and lead to a broad and Zionist unity government.“

Lapid, not the sharpest spoon in any drawer, can still appreciate the looming reality as so well described by Mudar in a recent article that there stands no one capable of taking over after Abu Mazen. As vile and reprehensible as Mazen remains to be, he still stands as an integral component in the nightmare policy of the Left known as the TSS. In fact, the TSS requires only two major requirements to solidify this infamy:
1.A Leftist govt willing to do the unthinkable act of further legitimizing the false narrative of the Arabs by ceding Judean territories to form a new Arab state
2. An Arab figurehead govt ruling the PA to provide the pretense of being a peace partner.
Despite Mazen’s role in the ’72 Munich Massacre, despite his role as the acting leader of a terror statelet within Israel, despite the Israeli blood that coats his palms, and yes, despite his statements of Holocaust denial, the Left still find him acceptable in fulfilling this vital role to complete the TSS. But when Mazen falls from power, the Left realizes that their ability to fulfill their fantasy becomes exponentially less likely and more difficult to effect.
The shortsightedness of the Left to accept Mazen as having any interest in peace does speak for itself. Not only is Mazen a career terrorist, infamous for his role in aiding, funding and likely planning the murder of the Israeli Olympians in ’72, he continues to finance the murder of innocents simply because they are Jews, naming the murders as ‘martyrs’ while enriching the families of these murderers to the tune of $350 million annually. He has published antisemitic tomes reputing Jewish history, and both denied the existence of the Holocaust while simultaneously noting that if it did occur, it too was the result of Jewish actions. All of these facts are far more egregious and far more substantive than the words Mazen has recently stated while in Germany and which seems to have given many the opportunity to see this ‘peace partner’ as the villain for which they have willfully ignored for far too long to suit their political needs.
Yet, the Left have ignored all of this, and have accepted him as a peace partner to fulfill their prized project of the TSS from which he has walked away from more than once. Still, the Left have their vision fixed, a Leftist govt in place and a still breathing Mazen to finalize their TSS infamy. Consequently, as Mazen’s health is failing, the Left are quite panicked to mature their plans before the PA devolves into a tribal civil war, or alternatively becoming controlled by Hamas.
As indicated by a recent report by JAFAJ, the middle east will soon look very different, hopefully complete with new leadership in Jordan under the control of Mudar. The rise of Mudar to power would result in a crushing blow to the TSS once and for all, while also providing the means to effect the Jordan Option and pursue peace with the Arabs of Yesha in a meaningful way, with a sincere peace partner who actually calls for peace, rather than the faux peace that is pursued with this veteran terrorist still calling for more dead Jews as the lynchpin of the TSS.
Why would Lapid do this now when Abbas is fading from the world stage.? Why not wait until he fades further? to the point that he is abandoned.
@Peloni
Exactly.
@Ted
I quite agree.
Where is the statement of outrage against what should be the focus of the Right in condemning Gantz and the Left as they bolster, fund and empower Abu Mazen? The issue should not be limited to the fact that Gantz is coordinating with the foul Holocaust denyer Abbas. Rather it should be targeted, like a laser light, upon the reality that the Left is perpetrating outrageous steps to block the extension of Soveriegnty over Jewish lands, forever. The response would seem so simple that it could write itself.
Draw a line in the sand, declare that Sovereignty is the policy of the Right. If the Right does not intend to extend Sovereignty, their condemnations are meaningless political posturing.
Exactly what is it that Bibi and Shaked are wary of? Call for Sovereignty and focus the debate upon the real distinctions between the Right and the Left, which should not be limited to the vile nature of Abu Mazen, something quite tangential to the fact that the Jewish Heartlands are not to be bartered or gifted for any price or convenience.
This is the campaign. It is not a time for equivocation or timid statements. If the Right are unwilling to put a voice to these distinctions before the votes are cast, they will certainly not put action to them afterward.
