Mansour Abbas: No Jewish prayer on Temple Mount or Ra’am will leave coalition

T. Belman. Under no conditions should Bennett agree to this. It is unthinkable that the Muslims would have sovereignty over the Temple Mount in the heart of Israel. We have Gen Moshe Dayan to thank for this. It is one thing to turn over control of the Al Aqsa Mosque, the alleged third holiest site in Islam, to the Jordan Wakf, it is another thing to turn over the whole Temple Mount, the undisputed holiest site in Judaism.

It is for this reason I discussed this with Mudar Zahran and he said if he becomes the leader of Jordan, he will not want to be in charge of the Wakf and suggested Israel should set up an Israeli Wakf run by Israeli Muslims. I publicly raised the idea that a perimeter should be set up around the Al Aksa Mosque within which the Walk would have control but that the rest of the Temple Mount would be recognized as a Jewish holy site.

After suspending cooperation with coalition, Ra’am presents list of demands to remain in the government,

The Ra’am party has submitted its conditions for remaining part of the coalition to Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, maintaining the status quo at the Temple Mount under which Jews are banned from any form of prayer at their holiest site, Channel 12 News reported.

In addition, the party demands an agreed outline for the implementation of the economic five-year plan within a year, accelerating the recognition and regulation of villages in the Negev and expanding the program to eradicate crime and violence in the Arab sector.

Tomorrow, a meeting will be held of members of the Ra’am party and the Islamic Movement in which Abbas will be required to take more drastic measures in response to the recent violence on and surrounding the Temple Mount, possibly including withdrawing from the coalition altogether.

However, Mansour Abbas insists that it is not right for the party to leave the coalition at this time and lose the unique status it has attained as an Arab party in the Israeli government.

On Sunday, the Ra’am party froze its participation in the coalition in response to pressure from the Islamic Movement, citing law enforcement efforts against Arab rioters on the Temple Mount.

The council held an emergency meeting Sunday afternoon after one of its leaders, Sheikh Mohammad Salameh Hassan, demanded the UAL party bolt the coalition and bring down the government.

At the urging of party chief MK Mansour Abbas, the council did not insist on the UAL’s immediate departure from the coalition, but instead instructed the faction to cease all cooperation with the government for the time being.

  1. I think that is known as an invitation. Bennett should accept it by doing the opposite of what Abbas wants. Let him leave , as if he has somewhere to go. The government stays in business to at least November. Then elections .

  2. Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has decided to close the Temple Mount to Jewish visits for the rest of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan in response to violence which has taken place on the holy site.

The closure will take effect beginning this Friday.

Is this how you stand up to terror? Is this how Jews should be penalized for Arab violence? Israel’s ‘allies’ attack her and reduce her flexibility in dealing with internal security matters that in no way should be an issue with any ally. If Israel has no right to maintain order in her own state due to the protests of the UAE and the US, she has surrendered her own sovereignty. If Abas should bolt from his swindling parasitism on the Israeli nation, only Israel would benefit from the parting of this fatted tick from the state’s largess and finally bring an end to the bribery which bought his support of this Jewish rump govt. Israel has a right to her sovereignty and a duty to her citizens. It is a Jewish state that protects all of her citizens and that would include the Jews now prevented from visiting the holiest site in the state due to the violations and violence of the rioting Arabs. SHAME on Bennett and may his govt fall quickly before he shames himself further with more such capitulations to reward such violence.

  6. @Honeybee It’s a semantic misunderstanding not a semitic one. They have confused deference with deterrence.

  7. When they say, “Al Aqsa” aren’t they conflating it with the Dome of the Rock which was built on top of the Temple and is the holiest Jewish site and which the Waqf are destroying artifacts from? Shouldn’t Jewish control be restored? As for Israeli Muslims, isn’t that who we’ve been seeing in action in these riots and their leaders in the knesset?

  8. @Tanna

The Fox dictating the terms of when supper will be eaten and what the menu will be.

This fact becomes even more delusional when it is realized that the self involved interests of a few ambitious politicians invited this Fox into the govt to dictate policy and achieve a political result that was quite the opposite of the electorate’s choice when they voted in to office a Right wing majority.

  9. Is this not interesting! The Fox dictating the terms of when supper will be eaten and what the menu will be.

I think God might just be thinking….. — If those stupid humans want to keep doing the same insane things over and over…… I think I’m going to let them, till they began using the good sense I gave them to figure it out, even if it takes millions, billions or zillions of years.
