  1. @Reader

I think someone advised Z. to talk about nukes also to make sure.

Yes, that surely was the most foolish thing he could have said, especially after the exclamation of Ukraine’s membership being within his own control to determine, as it would only add to the determination on Putin’s part to move forward with a more determined resolve. As if he were an actor just reading some lines written for him, oblivious as to their meaning or their consequence.

  2. I find it interesting that the 14,000 dead that were the direct result of an American intelligence operation coup in Ukraine also gained a biparisan agreement, only then the agreement was to ignore the mounting dead as it plied the deep pockets of political families with great bundles of ready cash for expertise in matters that only required them to have the correct last names. The current change in bipartisan support has nothing to do with the casualty lists or humanitarian needs and everything to do with the reality that Russia is rolling back into control of the mafioso state of Ukraine. I do wonder how many of those bipartisan politicos are only responding to the soon to be missing Ukrainian mafioso donations to them and their families as the Ukrainian oligarchs get closer and closer to being bankruptcy as Putin drives deeper and deeper into Ukraine. Corruption and the loss of corrupt incomes is a very motivating prospect.

  3. @Bear

Putin simply wants to conquer countries and objects to countries joining NATO because that makes it riskier for him.

You are changing the subject somewhat. You claimed Putin’s “so-called “security concerns” are a fake pretext”. This is clearly not true as seen in the testimony of career politicians to the contrary.

IT did NOT matter what Zylenskyy wanted!

Tell that to Biden and Zelensky, who informed the world that Ukraine had been given the green light on NATO membership on Dec. 9 with no correction to the contrary. Russia waited another nearly 3 months before their military incursion into Ukraine, all the while continuously requesting a commitment to counter the promise made in the Biden-Zelensky phone call.

Regardless of what you believe motivates Putin, there was a clear security concern which places pressure upon Putin to act, and it was not a fake pretext. The fact that it aligned with his desires of reuniting the old ball team, as it were, would only add to the reality of what that statement by Zelensky would cause, and this reality could only be missed by those who were motivated to ignore these facts.

Mind you, Putin invaded Ukraine. Yet, he was clearly prompted to do so by the public notice of a guarantee of NATO membership for Ukraine by the US and then given a public guarantee by the US that there would be no military response if he did invade. This is all public knowledge.

  4. Interesting thing in USA opposing Putin and being horrified by his attack on Ukraine is the first huge bi-partisan agreement. In fact the world wide protests reflect the same anti Putin viewpoint, except for a few of the normal bad actors this is a world wide view. Same in Israel. Some Israelis have gone to fight on behalf of Ukraine and others are participating in rescuing Ukrainians. Some doctors have gone to help Ukraine also. The correct human thing to do!!!

Oh yes the exception to the broad anti Putin feeling is Ted and a few posters on Israpundit.

  5. @Peloni, IT did NOT matter what Zylenskyy wanted! You can not get into NATO while a territorial dispute is going on. So this was not going to happen.

Putin simply wants to conquer countries and objects to countries joining NATO because that makes it riskier for him. He would have no security concerns if he simply quit invading countries and slaughtering people all over the place.

  6. @Bear
    @Laura

Putin’s so-called “security concerns” are a fake pretext. First of all there was no plan to bring Ukraine into NATO.

These security concerns are not “fake” as is stipulated in the memoirs of the current CIA director.
Zelensky’s Chief of Staff has stated that there was a plan to bring Ukraine into NATO and that the determination of this was in their own [Zelensky’s] hands in a phone call dated from Dec. 9.

  7. Ted, in your quotation from Shakespeare’s charcter Shylock, from A merchant of Venice,” you fail to note that Shakespeare describes him as a would-be murderer. Also, a usurer. Not really a flattering comparison for Putin, although maybe partially accurate.

  8. @ Laura you said,

Putin’s so-called “security concerns” are a fake pretext. First of all there was no plan to bring Ukraine into NATO. Secondly, of course he doesn’t like it that NATO moved eastward, because it impedes his ability to reconquer those countries.

    100% Correct!!

  9. I’ve noticed something about the rhetoric. The websites taking the side of Putin often discuss the Rothchilds, Khazarian Mafia, etc. This is the only objective fact that anyone can verify. Everything else from both sides is unverifiable propaganda.

I don’t like being used by the globalist pro-Ukraine folks, so I’m officially neutral for today,, but look who’s debunking the pro -Ukraine propaganda. Many respectable pundits, but many Khazarian Mafia obsessives. The latter are mainstream in this debate. What I’m offering here is something you can see firsthand, unlike everything else.

  10. @FelixQuigley
    @Sebastian Zorn

Under the relatively liberal Austrian rule and in confrontation with the Polish authorities Western Ukrainians developed a strong sense of national identity which later resulted in a mass national liberation movement.

    https://www.eurozine.com/the-myth-of-two-ukraines/

Actually, things were a lot different than described in this paragraph.

Both Austria and Poland used the Western Ukraine as a battering ram (the same way the West is using it now) against Russia by encouraging the Ukrainian “national liberation movement” and Russophobia.

This is very similar to what the British did in Palestine under the Mandate when they invented and developed the Arab “national liberation movement” as a battering ram against the Jewish community of Palestine in order to thwart the Jewish National Home project while keeping the ME under the British rule.

This “Ukraine as a battering ram against Russia” idea is an old favorite Western geopolitical tool.

The difference between the East and West there is not a myth.

The culture is very different, the Ukrainian language is different, the West is much more rural, nationalistic, intolerant, antisemitic, Nazi-loving, and Russian-hating.

There was never a country named Ukraine until the Soviet Union slapped it together out of different parts (some donated from the Russian territory) and actually conducted a program of “Ukrainization”.

  11. Laura the problem as I see it is that you are refusing to deal with the issue on an intellectual level. I had asked you to engage…

“Take the article on Ukrainian fascism by Almueda and refute it”

    The same with Adam Dalgliesh.

That’s the article introduced on site by Reader of which I quoted a lengthy part.

The video above is important too giving visual material.

There’s no substitute for intellectual engagement on these issues.

I cannot accept that material is offered and then evaded…..

  12. Edgar As I understand Jews were hunted in Jaunjelgave by the Cossacks and they were hunted in Ireland in a different but still same way…the Catholics want to kill Jews because the Jews killed Jesus their saviour which we know is a load of bollocks. And so myths grow. So we cannot accept lies a la BBC today on Ukraine.

  13. @FELIX-

Glad that you’re active again here Felix. Just a slight correction, MY people came from Latvia, barely, as their home/bakery was on the bank of the Western Dvina, In (Jewish name was Naira) Jaunjelgave. Lithuania was just across the river.

My other relatives were from Riga and deeper into Latvia, many also came to Dublin, some to Waterford.. But when both Latvian and Lithuanian Jews came to Ireland (Cork and Dublin) they intermarried, like my Dear Parents did. Jaunjelgave was a Shtetl, more than 3/4 Jews, of a total of less than 5,000, They lived mostly in the city with non-Jews in the suburbs. I grew up with some who never learnt Englsh, spoke only Yiddish.

Off topic. My niece who lives in North Vancouver, just told me that Chabad have now bought a nice building in Rathmines to make it into a welcoming Jewish Centre. I didn’t know there were any nice buildings in Rathmines. I always thought it worn out and seedy.. As a child, a baby really, I recall my dear sister, now 102 years old, bringing me to see Al Jolson in “The Jazz Singer” at the Princess Cinema a real dump. I was about 3 and already an old hand at going to the pictures. But they were all silent, and when he started singing I got such a fright that they only caught me scuttling under the seats about 6-7 rows back, heading for the exit.

  14. LOL, I hear Putin is a closet fegele.

It seems, putting the fegeles back in the closet is more important than seeing what the magician is doing.

  15. This nazi-hunting is a complete non sequitur, a sleight of hand by a magician who distracts you with talk about denazification, bombing biolabs and returning to family values. While he steals land.

We all want to be rescued by a hero on a white horse, but Vlad ain’t it. If denazification were such a priority, why is anyone on speaking terms with any European? Poor Ukraine, talk about scapegoating! The real reason y’all love Vlad is his anti gay law. It seems, putting the fegeles back in the closet is more important than seeing what the magician is doing.

  16. No Laura what’s happening is not speaking for itself. The Media is speaking for and on it. Like the BBC round the clock. So many lies.

Oh and don’t label me. I am against Stalinism.

  17. Adam Dalhliesh good you’re interested in the Nazis in Ukraine
Edgar can tell you about nearby Lithuania as I can. But start with the article posted here by Reader some days ago a most useful article to everyone.

  18. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWkfpGCAAuw&t=210s

This video was originally broadcast on March 12, 2014. It was made by a website and Youtube channel called Storm Clouds Gathering. SCG has been consistently broadcasting videos for more than seven years that accuse the u.S. of being responsible for everything that goes wrong in the world, all of its problems. I don’t know who sponsors and funds this outfit. I would like to find out.

This particular video accuses the Obama administration of masterminding the revolution that ousted the pro-Russian then-president of the Ukraine, Yankovich, and replacing him with a pro-American one, (is his name Petroshenko? He is still active in Ukrainian politics and a member of the Ukrainian parliament).
It also accuses him of including neo-Nazi, antisemitic parties in its government.

Much of this is true about the events of early 2014. But it is of doubtful relevance about the current situation (2022, not 2014) in Ukraine.. I don’t think any of these neo-Nazi groups are in the present Ukrainian government of Velodimir Belinsky. Belinsky was elected in a reasonably free and fair election, and did not take power in an armed revolution or coup, as Putin claims.

Even in the years between the 2014 revolution and Zelenko’s election in 2019, Storm Clouds Gathering’s dire predictions did not come true. There were no pogroms in Ukraine during this period. The far right parties did not in fact act on their antisemitic , pro-Nazi rhetoric. Between 2014 and roughly 2016 there were a few incidents of synogogues being attacked at night by one or two attackers who committed acts of vandalism. But damage to the synagogues was minimal. There were no attacks on synogogues by mobs. After a while, these attacks ceased.

I need to do more research about the activities of the ukrainian Nazis and their political influence on Ukrainian governments between 2014 and 2022. But from what I can tell now, this video exaggerates both the influence of these groups in Ukrainian politics and the extent of u.S. support for them.

  19. Putin’s so-called “security concerns” are a fake pretext. First of all there was no plan to bring Ukraine into NATO. Secondly, of course he doesn’t like it that NATO moved eastward, because it impedes his ability to reconquer those countries. That is what he means by “security concerns”, which have absolutely nothing to do with actual threats to Russian security. He has said IN HIS OWN WORDS that he wants to reestablish the Russian empire. Ukraine presented ZERO threat to Russia, in fact it gave up its nukes. That any rational person can buy into such propaganda is beyond stupid. The conservatives went from championing freedom in eastern Europe to spewing Kremlin propaganda. Pathetic, shameful and disgraceful. You people are sick.

  20. Felix Quigley, you’re an old commie, so it doesn’t surprise me you would favor the reestablishment of the old Soviet empire. As far as backing up my claims with evidence, what’s happening in Ukraine speaks for itself.

  21. No Edgar, Tucker Carlson is not a globalist. I said he’s an ISOLATIONIST. Admittedly I do not have evidence that he’s anti-Semitic. My point was that isolationists tend to be anti-Semitic, frequently blaming Jews for America’s wars. But do you really think that such an isolationist as Carlson would suddenly turn around and want America to help Israel if God forbid she was in a similar position as Ukraine? So I wonder why anyone here would be a fan of Carlson.

I thought that tyou were being castigated for supporting Russia. If this is correct, then deservedly. Aggressors should NOT be supported.

When Laura sprays spittle all around with her favourite epithet, all better look out.

I wish she had stayed long enough to give us the link To Carlson’s video where he is an Anti-Semite and Globalist. I’ve never found him so although he has a few surprising “theories from time to time. But, again, I rarely watch him or any other video soldier.

    BUT….are you?????

  22. @Adam you are correct. Trump also sanctioned Russia. I believe thinking that Putin is some type of positive force is a massive mistake in logic and analysis.

Putin has not been anti Semitic or as anti Israel as prior Russian leaders. Yet he arms all their enemies. Just like Biden who Ted correctly degenerates for supporting the two state solution and being against Israeli settlement, Putin holds the same positions. So this position is illogical and inconsistent.

  23. Ted, you write that you are a MAGA supporter. This means that you support Donald Trump, who founded that MAGA movement. But you don’t seem aware that Trump was much tougher of Russia than the present administration. Far from “colluding” with Russia, he came down hard on Germany for making the “Nordstream” deal with Russia that made it dependent on Russia for 65% of its energy supplies. He sanctioned Nordstream and any company. including American companies, that did business with Nordstream.

THe Biden administration abolished these sanctions. That gave the Russians the monetary reserves it needed to launch this invasion.

Trump also gave Ukraine a substantial amount of military and civilian aid. To the extent that Ukraine has been able to put up some resistance against the Russian aggression, it is largely because of the arms and military training that Trump gave them.
See Australia’s Sky News commentator “Rita” the excellent analysis of the difference between Trump’s tough-on-Russia approach and Biden’s soft-on-Russia approach, until the invasion actually began. (oops, the link didn’t print. Back shortly!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-kMHYNxNgg

  24. Regardless of how many nazis are in the Ukraine govt and military, how does Ukraine’s behavior toward Israel compare with the EU and European NGOs?

  25. @Morry Rotenberg

How does a Ukraine “controlled” by NAZIs elect a Jew as president?

The same way a Jew Victoria Nuland worked with the Ukrainian Nazis to enable them to take power in Ukraine, I guess.

  26. Morry Rotenberg I will try to answer. I do not know who they are. But it deals with the key events and the key time. We have to study those events carefully. That’s 2013 and 2014

Secondly I do not see anything out of the ordinary about this Jewish guy. The question is the existence of Fascism and how Nuland was working WITH them.

  27. How does a Ukraine “controlled” by NAZIs elect a Jew as president?
The video must be at least 6-7 years old as the articles shown were from 2013-2014. Putin has lost his marbles.

  28. Ted I won’t praise you because it’s what I expect. We simply have to have the information that is so vital.

  29. Edgar this is far too important not to study the material that’s being presented. There’s huge media forces ranged in this situation and we simply must explore everything. I don’t have the answers but I’m open.

  30. Laura we really have to get to the truth of what is going on. Back up everything with your evidence. Take the article on Ukrainian fascism by Almueda and refute it

  31. Hope I’m logged in correctly

Article by Lucas Leiroz de Almeida gives a good sense of the massive power and influence of many Fascist Militias. This explains the behaviour of the former President. He was not just leaving post Maidan in 2014. He was fleeing for his life.

(Reader introduced this key article but one of the features of internet troll behaviour is that vital material put forward in the interests of truth is silently ignored)

    To continue…
Avakov initiated a process of instrumentalizing neo-Nazi militias that had supported Maidan, making these extremist groups key points in the defense of the new Ukrainian regime. In the West, due to collective ignorance about Slavic history, many people think that Nazi racism was restricted to Jews, but in fact, anti-Russian hatred was one of the biggest locomotives of WWII, having led Hitler to the irrational decision to invade and try to annex the USSR. This sentiment is alive in these neo-Nazi militias, who are literally ready to do anything to annihilate the Russians, being much more fanatical in their racist convictions than the Ukrainian armed forces.

Groups such as the Azov Battalion, C14 and the armed militias of rightist parties such as Pravyy sektor and Svoboda operate freely in Ukraine…End Quote This article is filled with priceless information for those of us who want to go on living in our beautiful earth. And it is not the only one. There are others too.

In this volatile age millions can be stampeded by a media who are not truthseekers but if the full truth were known the Russian army soldiers bring freedom!

  33. And to those of you fucker carlson sycophants, since he’s of the worldview that we should support Russia because they have the energy resources (he’s on video from 2021 saying just that), do you think he isn’t of the mindset that America should take Iran’s side over Israel? Isolationists also do tend to be anti-Israel and even outright anti-Semitic. Such is the lunacy, irrationalilty and stupidity now expressing itself here on Russiapundit.

  34. @Ted Belman

I completely support you in this.

Russia is not perfect, to say the least, but the same can be said of any other country.

I think that the East and West divide is perfectly artificial and has outlived itself and that the PTB must quit the old divisive methods unless they want to end up blowing up the planet and ending life on Earth while playing their power games.

This time, if they keep at it, they won’t sit it out in their bunkers while watching on their big screen TVs how their subjects slaughter each other.

  35. The evidence keeps mounting that you’re a kook, Ted, in your unhinged support of Putin. I’m done with this site.
