Likely, he is waiting to maximize a political windfall for his Senatorial candidacy from his actions in this matter, as Byrne has been informed is the reason for the delay by a close associate of his who is close to the investigation in AZ. The unkind reality is that all politicians, even those who are not part of the infrastructure that enabled the fraud to take place, are creatures of opportunity, and any convictions they carry will take a second seat to their political opportunism. That being stated, Byrne did note that he has had some contact with the AG’s staff and that they are being very meticulous in their pursuit of the fraud, given the serious nature of the situation and the importance that it be conducted properly. Byrne has conjectured that this could also be causing the delay.
