“Religion must die in order for mankind to live,” said left wing commentator, Bill Maher, in the documentary “Religulous,” the most watched documentary feature of the year.

David Horowitz has written an expose of the war on religion entitled “The Dark Agenda.” It is a well documented work. Horowitz, a brilliant author, who has been described as a Jewish-agnostic, is nevertheless objective enough to be a friend to the faith community.

Maher’s view accurately reflects the attitudes of a movement called the “New Atheism.” The movement seeks to discredit all religious belief by caricaturing its adherents as simpletons and worse. Horowitz exposes the stated goal of the New Atheism is to delegitimize and extinguish the religious point of view in America.

He suggests members of the movement are blind to all the positive influences religion has had on human behavior while ignoring all the atheist-inspired genocide of the last 250 years. In the twentieth century alone, Communists atheists have slaughtered more than 100 million people in Russia, China, and Indochina.

In Russian Marx’s disciples removed religious teaching from the schools, outlawed criticism of atheist and agnostics, and burned 100,000 churches. When priests protested 95,000 of them faced firing squads.

We call it Marxism while ignoring the fact it was and is explicitly atheistic, whose atrocities were committed in the name of social justice.

The principal manifesto to the New Atheist movement was published in 2006. Written by evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins, the “God Delusion” postulated scientific advances have rendered any belief in God irrational and unnecessary. In reality the opposite is true.

The idea that all religious people are stupid is stupid. Isaac Newton, Galileo, and Pascal were devout Christians, as were virtually all the geniuses who created the scientific revolution.

A current example of devout Christian scientists who headed the Human Genome Project from 1993 to 2008 and is currently head of the National Institute of Health wrote in part. “I found there is a wonderful harmony in the complementary truths of science and faith. The God of the Bible is the God of the genome. God can be found in the cathedral or in the laboratory. By investigating God’s majestic and awesome creation, science can actually be a means of worship.”

Collins, a former atheist published “The Languaage of God: A Scientist’s Evidence for Believing.”

In 1997 the psychologist Nicholas Humphrey gave the Amnesty Lecture at Oxford in which he expressed concepts of the New Atheist movement: “Children have a right not to have their minds addled by nonsense. And we as a society have a duty to protect them from it. So, we should no more allow parents to teach their children to believe, for example, in the literal truth of the Bible … than we should allow parents to knock their children’s teeth out or lock them in a dungeon.”

This is the kind of ideological war we are in. The intent is to transform America into a society devoid of God.

Are we listening? If so what are we doing to counter? Study candidates for every office in the land. Personally study to make yours a well grounded and informed faith. Take a part in the institutions that color our culture, foremost a viable center of worship.

  2. So, if we are going to have one nation under God, which we must, we have to have one religion, one, one, one nation under God and one religion under God. Right? All of us together. Working together. I don’t care what your ecumenical service is or what you are. We have to believe that this is a moment in time where this is good versus evil.

    For anyone who has watched Gen. Flynn’s interviews over the past many months, he has drawn attention to the fact that the religious community has been fractured and out maneuvered by the smaller anti-religious community with support from many factions of the religious community against their own interests. He has called for a unity of these religious groups, not in worship, but in support of personal freedom and political reforms. He has promoted personal empowerment and personal responsibility towards a reinstitution of personal freedom from which all recognition of religious freedom is an extension. It should be recalled that Gen. Flynn is an Irish Catholic, a significant minority to be certain, but a minority none the less. The idea that he was promoting his religious beliefs to expunge religious freedom is uniquely obsurd. Religious liberty is a basic tenet extending from the personal freedoms that Flynn has been advocating since January. This is utter nonsense.

    Also, to suggest something so malignant as to compare Flynn’s objectives to turning the US into a crusading nation is quite a bizarre statement. It suggests an opinion not altogether motivated upon this topic.

  3. One religion doesn’t mean an absence of freedom of religion. What you worship is your business.. By how does that conflict with the US or the UK embracing Christianity. Many countries have identified themselves as Islamic or Christian and they still allow Jews to have their own religion.

    Not sure how Flynn wants to accomplish this changing of America into a crusader country and get rid of Freedom of Religion

For me who dismisses freedom of religion in the USA for one religion is a religious bigot and also an anti-Semite. This is a person who is against the traditions of the US also which consisted of freedom of worship.

    Flyn is OK.
    And the essence of “Christianity” is basically “Judaism” anyway.
    It makes so little difference what fairytales someone believe.

    What makes a difference is how someone behaves. In particular how someone treats his/her fellow human beings.

    In this respect, I have not seen any evidence directly or statistically that believers in Jewish / Christian stories, treat people better than believers in Hindu/Sikh/Buddhist, or traditional Chinese and Daoist stories.

    Muslims stand out statistically as the most creepy, but only statistically, as there are many excellent individuals. However on average, the followers of the pedophile do tend to be more violent and intolerant.

    There is Israelite patriotism / nationalism.
    It involves also national mythology, very much like all other nations.
    Japanese, English, Russians, Indians, all have their national mythology. The story of the divine origins of their nation, and the special help and favor from Mr. God they received.

    Mr. God specially fished out the Hawaiian islands for the Hawaiian people.
    Same did the Japanese Kami.
    Moreover Kami also caused the strong wind to drown the Mongolian invasion. It was called the Kami Kadze. The WWII suicide pilots were named Kamikaze from that God’s Wind that saved Japan.

    The best of all god’s is Bumba.
    He shit out the whole world.
    And made Dinkas his chosen people.
    All believers are childish.
    And atheists are also believers. They believe in No-God. They tend to believe that the Universe, Life, are all accidents. More over they believe that consciousness is just a material process. Some chemical and electrical events in the brain.

    Belief is a poor substitute for knowing.
    Believers are simply to arrogant to admit that they don’t know.

    You included a few items that I heartily applaud. You said “smart, articulate”, I can say that the posters are highly intelligent -and, I can add- a pleasure to read. The comments ARE often more interesting that the articles I’ve said this before now, more than once.

    Their researches, even lacking the contacts and advantages the writer has, are very deep and more than complement the articles..

    I don’t thin I have ever come across such a creature as a “venom spewing beast. None of our members is anything close to your vivid imaginary beast.

  15. I like reading the comments on Israpundit almost as much as the articles themselves. However, I am occasionally surprised at how quickly and easily otherwise very smart, articulate people can devolve into venom-spewing beasts. We should all try to resist that tendency.

    To the issue… Yes, the Left, (for want of a better name), has been trying for years to wipe the name of G_d away. It seems that lately they are making some progress. Shame on us (religious folk) for doing such a poor job of stating our case. Many notable people have pointed out the unquestioned benefits to society of a religious upbringing, particularly a Judeo-Christian one. (Christian morality is, after all, based on Judaism).

    I conclude with this…There is a G_d. To believe otherwise, (sorry atheists), is irrational, illogical, and even un-scientific. If you want to believe otherwise, that is your perogative… guaranteed, I might add, by freedoms granted by our Judeo-Christian culture. Are there a lot of loons represented in every religion? Oh my, yes! That goes along with the territory. But, let’s not throw the baby out with the bathwater.

    Actually it was John Darby. and he WAS crazy. After I met my wife and was doing a little “research”.. I recall reading that admiral Nelson was his godfather and he came from Irish landed nobility. Originally a lawyer he went religion mad and became a curate. in Wicklow Ireland. I knew the place well.

    Bishop Ussher was another Irish religious lunatic, who decided that the world was created in -4004. I’ve posted on these pages a few years ago that my dear late father’s business was exactly next door to Usshers palace, a huge dark grey stone building, which in our time was called “The Mendicity Hall” filled with very poor people. .I passed it several times a day, as we had another premises around the corner. It was always silent and gloomy.

    Reminds me of Jimmy Schnozzle” Durante. a monologue he was giving turned to crazy people. “They said Goethe was mad,….. they said Beethoven was mad,…they said Louie was mad….(crowd) “WHO’s Louie??….. “He was my uncle…. he WAS mad”….

He was Hillel’s top disciple, a life long pacifist, and if his advice had been followed, Jerusalem of those days would likely be still standing today, and the Jews proliferating everywhere, not having been dispersed all over Europe and elsewhere. We would have been a Great Nation.

    As it was, his inspiration allowed Javne to become a centre from which Judaism was preserved; because of that I am alive today as a staunch Jew, as well as 15 million others.

On the other hand, many people have come to know God, partly because of their teachings. None of this is my bisiness. The people talked about by Nelson Price didn’t follow the agendas of either: They want to destroy America; and in so doing, to cause the world to descend into chaos. They couldn’t care less, about petty religious arguments.

    I am concerned about yesterday’s events in Waukesha, which happened literally right in front of my niece, her children and her grandchildren.

    This was a terrorist attack, which the police have already begun to downplay. The perpetrator was a domestic terrorist (BLM), who was stirred to murder by the incitement from newsmen, celebrities and politicians, including Joseph R. Biden. The grieving has only begun in Waukesha.

    The term “end times” came into use well after 1830, comparatively modern. The root of the idea-sort of- was first bruited by a fanatic named Darby, an Irish curate, not even a vicar.

    His extreme followers were called Darbyites for some years, until an English branch sprung up and then were renamed “Plymouth Brethren. ‘.

    I know quite a bit about them. My wife was brought up in that splinter sect, and her family being regarded as “mixed race’ in South Africa’s Capetown, suburb of Wynberg, they came to Canada, when she was already 27 years old. Until the ship voyage she has never seen a movie, not worn slacks nor makeup …Nothing..Primitive Christians, (although -maybe by coincidence-very wealthy).

    There, she began to research the various beliefs, and settled on Judaism before I’d even met her. A Reform and then an Orthodox conversion, no les.

    This end times cant is totally against the teachings of such as;

    .Tyndale, Wycliffe, Calvin, Wesley, and many other major Church reformers.

    You may know (or not) that I have only the friendliest feelings and respect for you. Despite our sometimes violent acrimonious exchanges, it has stood the test of time.

    Historically there was no name in Israel as Yeshua, not did anyone ever mention yhvh as an acronym for the creator, whose name was uttered one a year in the Holy of Holies, and completely unknown to any one else.

    Even today it is not known for sure.

    There are so many major barriers against Jew becoming Christian, despite the wiles of these Ben Kok creatures, (who work on the ignorant, unschooled Jews) that it would take hours to tell you. But I think you know many of them. you are NO fool.

    I may not be a religious devotee like the Haredim and the Chabad,

    What we have to do is live in close connection to our Father in heaven, by following Yeshua, living by the Tora like He explained when He was on earth 2000 year ago.
