This is from the UK Daily Mail. A ggod exampleof the Dark Woke Left that David Horowitz is talking about.
@Bear
I am not so easily bruised as that, Bear and I took no slight from your comment, but I was uncertain if you took my intended meaning. I did want to be clear of my opinion on him, as I hold him in very high esteem. I could see from my short comment that my thoughts of him might be perceived as less than they are, and I did not want that inflection to be left uncertain. Beyond this point, if I mistook some general comment you made as something other than it was intended, do accept my apology. I find the written word can, at times, be badly inferred towards something other than its intended meaning – which is why I offered this clarification on my comment, not as a rebuttal to your own. I was invited many years ago when visiting a friend at his college campus to a speech by Horowitz. I had heard of him before that, but I had never heard him speak. I do forget the specifics of the his subject, but I do think this was the first time I had heard of Saul Alinsky. I was quite impressed with his ability to be as frank with his statements as too many like minded speakers are less direct with their statements. I recall, also, that his presentation provided a great deal of discussion – he has always been good at this.
@Peloni, never thought you said anything untoward in regards to David Horowitz. I have heard him in person and am very familiar with his organization from many years back.
PS I was agreeing with your positive sentiments towards David. I must be careful in addressing you, as you appear sensitive and keep thinking I am criticizing you when I am not. Even on comments I do not direct to you.
Yes @Bear, I did not intend to suggest any slight towards the man. I simply noted the bizarre fact that decades ago he was a liberal. He is very frank on this point of his history. I find him to be a very perceptive individual who has the ability to cut strait to the underlying issues rather than dancing about the edges. Since the first interview I have ever seen of him, this was his method and it has only grown more pronounced with time. His regard of the truth, regardless of how unpolitical it may appear is a refreshing characteristic, I believe. So yes, I entirely agree with your analysis. As I said, and it is always true, there is a lot to be gleaned from his observations.
@Peloni, David Horowitz is very bright and intelligent.
Excellent interview with David Horowitz. I have always found it incredible that this man used to be a leftist. A lot to be gleaned from his observations, and this was very true with this interview.
