“Betrayed From Within”: Patrick Byrne

Blasts White House Staff After Attending Election Meeting With President Trump, Sydney Powell and Gen. Flynn

By Kristinn Taylor, GP . December 20, 2020 at 9:34pm

Former Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne blasted President Trump’s chief of staff Mark Meadows and White House lawyers in comments posted online Sunday about a meeting at the White House Friday night with Trump about the contested presidential election that Byrne attended with attorney Sydney Powell and former Trump national security advisor Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn (U.S. Army ret.), saying that Trump is being “betrayed from within.” Byrne also denied the reporting that a military coup or martial law were discussed.

“My involvement is I was in the room when it happened. The raised voices included my own. I can promise you: President Trump is being terribly served by his advisers. They want him to lose and are lying to him. He is surrounding by mendacious mediocrities.”..In addition, any suggestion if there was talk of a military coup or martial law is also a flat lie. 100% false. I was there for 4 1/2 hours, I heard the entire conversation, that is a 100% fabrication.”

Byrne called out White House Counsel Pat Cipollone as the leaker to the New York Times about the meeting and accused Meadows and White House staffers of lying to Trump to get him to concede, “I was there for the full 4.5 hour meeting. Claims military coup/martial law were discussed is 100% fabrication. Trump is lied to by his own advisers, who tell staff “get the president to concede“ while they stall Trump. Meadows + Lawyers Eric, Derek, GC Pat Cippollone (leaker).”01:0301:39

“Meadows and legal staff led by GC Cippolone reflexively shoot down every sober discussion or idea presented. Their frame of mind is automatic: “we better not try that, it may not work, it would hurt your reputation in the press…“ No kidding, they say stuff like that. Tell DJT.”

Byrne named the advisors he believes are hurting Trump, “Pat Cippollone and two other lawyers. Eric and Derek. Meadows wants him to concede and transition also.”

Responding to a poster who offered an opinion on why the establishment is intent on getting rid of Trump, “I’m convinced the US Establishment including the Republican Establishment have decided to end the Trump era. They want Biden/Harris and the Globalist Reset. The reason they have resorted to such extreme measures is because the Reset is time critical. They need the US on board now,” Byrne replied, “Correct.”

Byrne responded to several questions about the meeting and Trump’s attitude, It is 100% winnable. No martial law required. Sydney and Flynn presented a course that I estimate has 50% – 75% chance of victory. His staff just try to convince him to do nothing but accept it. As a CEO, my heart broke to see what he is going through. He is betrayed from within.”…”He truly believe he won and he truly did win. I did not vote for him, but I don’t want to see our country hijacked in a psyop.”…”Too nice. Thinks he will look bad in press. Nonsense like that.”…He wants to fight on. They are bending over backwards to come up with reasons to tell him he can’t do anything. He needs to fire them all or he loses.”

Byrne has a strong dislike of Cipollone, blasting when asked who leaked the meeting, “White House General Counsel Pat Cippolone.”…”I’m not afraid of these weasels. A greasy slickster like Pat Cippollone leaks lies to the NYT. I tell the truth publicly.”…”No intelligence was involved. It was the White House general counsel and his team.”

  1. @ Woolly Mammoth:

I don’t see that my comment was “not very nice”. After all, what am I supposed to say. it seems that we are of different generations. I am a mature individual who deals in facts, and happens to have a liking for Chaplin films. I did not know you were going to delve deeply into Circle Players, in which I have no interest. I know that Chaplin did almost everything in making his films.

Obviously you have lived on a different plane, are far more artistic than I, which is, I suppose, quite normal. As for “Get Smart”… You were a child then, but I was already into literature from a very young age, likely as young (or younger) as you were, then. Early 20th,19th and 18th cent were my greatest pleasures. Even today, I read about 14 hours every day.

I am honest in my opinions, having been brought up to that very strict standard, and don’t recall the last time I made a dishonest remark. No money would tempt me. Only pity or strong sympathy would cause me to prevaricate, without actually having to lie.
I have not watched anything on TV for at least 45 or more years.

So, I regret if you are hurt, but it was not intentional, I did not know you would be. Again, apologies.

  2. @ Edgar G.:

That is not a very nice thing you wrote, Edgar.
Sorry, no offense, please. As a child, I watched Get Smart, it is a boring and stupid spoof, but it is an unmistakeable Mel Brooks spoof.
A lot of Mel Brooks scripts are juvenile and that is when I watched them, when I was a kid. As an adult I have spent much more time enjoying classical music and the related arts.
I had quite an experience when I was at the in the rehearsal studio for ballet at the historic Kirov Theatre, over 200 years old. The name has gone back to the original, Marrinsky Theatre. Anyway, after the photo shoot, with the great prima ballerina Tatiana Terekhova, her pupil, one of the principal ballerinas and Terekova’s husband, who was partnering the student, the Kirov star, Sergei Berezhnoi, I was elated as I was walking out of the complex, I heard the sound of a live orchesta behind a heavy 6 inch wide sound stage door. I was curious so I walked in. I am glad I did. It opened up into an odd looking medium sized auditorium with a large open stage an orchestra pit which was open and seating for about 150 people. The seats were all taken. There was an orchestra in the pit which was being conducted by an animated scruffy bearded individual who I recognized immediately as Valery Gergiev, The Director of The Marrinsky Theatre. On the stage were about a half dozen opera singers.
The orchestra sounded great, especially in the tiny hall, you could practically feel the instruments vibrating.
. So I sat down on one of the steps leading to the rows of seating and camped out for quite a while.
Very exciting performance, Gergiev is one of the top conductors in the world, as good as any, if not better when it comes to Russian music.
I noticed that many of the people in the audience were reading books.
I leaned over and looked into one of their books and it was music, it appeared to be a score. I noticed something, the audience seemed segregated by gender. I got this great epiphany as I realized that I was not seated in the audience, rather The Choir. With a minute a man took his position in front of The choir made a simple signal with one finger and the entire choir broke in the finale from Bizet’s Carmen. When it was over I was so intoxicated from the entire experience, I have no words. Maestro Gergiev was not satisfied so he had them perform the entire finale for a second time…..I still have no words, after more than 25 years.

Schallert was not a big star. He was a hard working actor, he was also a very pleasant person.
Bill Schallert was shaped by his years working with Charles Chaplin and he was not the only one.
I asked the questions only because you mentioned above that you wished to follow up on my mention of Chaplin having worked with Circle Players.
I was intending to share much else about Chaplin and those whom I met including Cary Grant, Peter Ustinov, Mary Tyler Moore and the entire cast from her show, Anthony Franciosa, Martin Landau and Karl Malden including many from Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm, who are very much like the characters they portray.

  3. @ Woolly Mammoth:

It may have been William Schallert. He was Patty Duke regular and an occasional on Get Smart I’m not much af a TC watcher or “show” adherent other than the Ed Sullivan show. So please…..

I just read you post to Sebastien so am looking……Admiral Hargrade, not difficult , very easy…but please…no more. I’m an intelligent adult, at least in my own estimation

To be more specific, the behind the camera scenes, shows Charlie directing with other assistant directors, camera operators. Unlike productions today or in the last 70 years or more those early films had few names in the credits. Chaplin did practically everything, including composing much of the music and he showed the other actors exactly what he wanted them to do and if you study the other actor’s movements, it is quite obvious.

  5. @ Sebastien Zorn:

Absolutely correct. Good observation about the voice. Mr. Schallert narrated many commercials through the years with longstanding contracts.
The role Bill played on Get Smart was….I should really give Edgar an opportunity to answer that one.
What I would like to know, Edgar, is whether you had an opportunity to view the three part documentary on Chaplin called The Unknown Chaplin, available on You Tube. If anyone is at all familiar with Chaplin’s films it is very interesting because it includes out takes and behind the camera footage showing Chaplin working with the director. There are entire scenes which were never used, with excerpts of those scenes shown.
Chaplin, being one of the owners of the studio, United Artists, had no qualms letting the camera run and repeat filming of the same scene many times, dozens of time, even over a hundred times, specifically in one particular scene in City Lights, a silent film, of course, how would the blind girl selling flowers come to the conclusion that Charlie The Tramp was a rich man after selling Charlie all of her flowers with borrowed money from the rich drunk whose life Charlie saved preventing his suicide attempt, as the documentary explains how arrived at the answer through trial and error. To avoid a policeman, as he was j walking, Charley entered a limousine through the back door while it was stopped at a red light and immediately exited on the curb side, the blind girl could hear the sound of the limo door being closed and we all know those old limos had doors with a recognizable luxurious/ quality sound. If I remember 104 takes on that scene. Contrast Chaplin’s liberal use of film with directors like Alfred Hitchcock, who knew precisely what he wanted, for examples in terms of lighting and camera angle. It was all worked out ahead of time. Hitchcock very often got a first take and only take. There was no improvisation. Not that there is anything wrong with that, as he proved time and time again.

  6. @ Woolly Mammoth:

“…William “Bill” Schallert was born in Los Angeles, California, the son of Edwin Francis Schallert, a longtime drama critic for the Los Angeles Times, and Elza Emily Schallert (née Baumgarten), a magazine writer and radio host. He began acting while a student at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and, in 1946, helped found the Circle Theatre with Sydney Chaplin and several fellow students. In 1948, Schallert was directed by Sydney’s father, Charlie Chaplin, in a staging of Somerset Maugham’s Rain…”

I watched him all the time on tv growing up. Very familiar face and voice. He was a staple of my childhood. Sidney Chaplin I don’t know.

  7. @ Edgar G.:

Oh, I am certain Trump will do very well in the public sector.
Thank you for reading the post on Chaplin. Let’s see what additional tidbit of information I can provide, okay.
    Edgar, here is your
Final Jeopardy Question: Who was the actor, who was in the Circle Players, which Chaplin directed in many plays and was later in two television series as a regular character or an occasional character.
    #1- The Patty Duke Show
    #2- Get Smart

You have as long as you wish to answer the question, Good Luck.
I will provide the answer on request. (This was not my family member)
I can tell you that this person had a long list of credits. Why he was even a guest star on the Rat Patrol. Here is a list of some not all of their credits:
    The Rifleman
    Gunsmoke
    The Andy Griffith Show
    The Partridge Family
    Dobie Gillis
    Perry Mason
    Star Trek
Movies: In the Heat of the Night with Sidney Poitier and Rod Steiger,
    Speedway with Elvis

  8. @ Woolly Mammoth:
Maybe they will invest millions, but Trump has had no difficulty in raising money. Over a month ago already he’d raised nearly $200 mill for his “defence” fund to pay for the legal actions that were beginning and ongoing.. And that was only in a very short time.

On another matter I meant to talk to you about your family’s relationship with Chaplin, which I found most interesting but became sidetracked. Will get back to it another time.

  9. @ greenrobot:

Although Bannon s a great guy (I wish he’d get a haircut), they stopped making Superman movies a long time ago. He’s a talker, not a doer.. Trump is both.

  10. (continued)

Trump is probably finished. The RINO “Republicans” will invest millions and try to make sure he can not mount a viable candidacy for 2024, somehow or another.
The Kaisch, Romney and Bush wing of the party, as well as Soros and left wingers like Sanders are going to be laser focused on converting the Republicans to a version of Kaisch/Bush 2.0 which will mean that in 2024 it will not matter if the electorate go red or white, you know, like the way it has been for the last 50 years or more prior to Trump. They want Trump to be THE fluke, a one of a kind tilt error.
They may prevail. However, not if I can help it for I would like the same fate to befall the before mentioned vermin and we know who they are, the stuffed shirt phoney, as perfectly exemplified by horse face John Kerry and Buttigieg and his CAIR

  11. @ Wooly Mammoth:
    Hi Wooly,

The Republicans have wanted Trump out since before he was in. They want to return to the good old days when they could conduct business like they did under Clinton/Bush/Obama. Biden’s indiscretions have shown us all how easy it is for these career politicos to bring in the big dollars. This is the very reason they spend millions of dollars during campaigns to obtain a position that pays a couple hundred thousand dollars. I suspect there may be some patriots in the mix, but from where I sit, they are very few.

  12. Not good. Not good at all…..
It appears as if The Republicans privately want Trump out.
They have probably have understandings with Biden.
    Time will tell.

  13. This Cippolone seems to be a sinister character. Why did Trump appoint him! How did it happen that he surrounded himself with traitirs?
