UAE adopts textbooks reflecting the Abraham Accords

“As a Christian pro-Israel organization dedicated to the interests of Israel and the Jewish people, this is a day of celebration.  As an organization dedicated to the well-being of our children, this is also a wonderful day of remembrance.  A new day is dawning for the children of the Middle East.  A new textbook being implemented by the United Arab Emirates is already in use in the UAE—an Arab textbook that teaches peace with Israel

“The impact organization that analyzes textbooks for the Arab world noted the content of the textbook being presented to their children “is remarkable in that the new treaty is not just presented as a fact, but students are presented with the religious, ethical and national reasons to support peace and employ critical thinking in completing an exercise about the importance of peacemaking.”

“He went on to note: “Clearly the citizens of a country that teaches peacemaking, conflict resolution and the acceptance of the ‘other’ within their school courses will be more likely to embrace peace treaties signed by their leaders.” Even before covert peace talks were made public between the countries, the United Arab Emirates had totally overhauled the country’s textbooks to promote peace and understanding between all people. Today they are actively promoting peace with Israel to their schoolchildren.”
