Report: US promises PA Israel will not apply sovereignty

T. Belman. This is too far fetched to believe. The US has been undermining the PA from day one.

PA reportedly agrees to renew ties with US after receiving assurances there will be no Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria.

The Palestinian Authority (PA) has received a promise from the United States that Israel will not unilaterally apply its sovereignty over any part of Judea and Samaria, Channel 12 News commentator Ehud Yaari reported.

According to the report, the PA agreed to renew ties with the US after receiving the promise.

MK Ayelet Shaked reacted with anger to the reports that the US was now officially against the application of Israeli sovereignty.

“There is no sovereignty and we knew from the first moment that the left-wing government was formed under Netanyahu and Gantz that this would not happen. Netanyahu missed a historic opportunity to change the crooked reality of the Middle East,” Shaked said.

  1. Israel needs Israeli Civil Law in Judea/Samaria both for the practical building and land dispute benefits of Israeli Law plus telling the world and the Jewish Settlers we are not leaving our homes. This will encourage more Jews to move to Judea/Samaria further strengthening Israel. It will encourage more development there.

Just like with the Golan and Jerusalem eventually it will be accepted. Also Trump would not object now before the election. Some always think Israel needs to placate those that live elsewhere. I am of the view that a sovereign nation needs act like a sovereign nation. Trump nor Biden nor Putin do not rule Israel but Israelis do! Shaked is correct to be upset!

  2. @ Bear Klein:

Yes, all of this is true. Waiting for an opportune moment in no way negates Israel’s legitimate claims to the land.
What does Israel stand to gain from such an ill timed tone deaf desperate decision. Bear, have you ever been on the freeway and while intending to exit you are missing the exit such that you may be either forced to swerve thru a no go space out of your lane or just wait for the next exit to come up. What in the world is the big rush? Who cares if it is now or four months or four years. It will only give ammunition to The UN Security Council to pass a doozy of a resolution. Do you think Biden will support Israel in The UN Security Council Bear.
I am more worried about illegal EU building taking place and The Waqf destroying Jewish antiquities in Jerusalem etc. Don’t worry Wolf Bear.
Israel is doing just fine. Which is more than I can say for Hizzboolah.
Israel cannot afford to make gross errors. It has made serious mistakes and it has paid dearly for many of them, I need not remind you. Human Error is very difficult to cure.
Just pray that Trump can prevail. That is the main event, in case you missed Jimmy Lennon’s announcement.

  3. I agree with Ted, this article smells like wet manure!

Israel needs to apply sovereignty even if unilaterally just like it did with the Golan and Jerusalem. The Jewish Towns in Judea/Samaria and Jordan Valley are part and parcel of Israel forever and Israeli Civil Law should applied. Time to get rid of Ottoman Law.

  4. I do not see any practical way for Israel to have seriously considered applying sovereignty over these specific disputed territories without agreement and support from The POTUS, at a bare minimum.
The goal is not to make a half baked declaration which will be supported by virtually no other nation, with the exception of Fiji, and perhaps a few small countries. On the contrary, it would be seen as a declaration of war.
How may I ask does that help Israel? The Democrap will argue that is all the fault of Trump and his erroneous pro Israel policies. All the more reason to vote him out and to cut Netanyahu I.e. Israel, down to size with the support of the most repugnant and disgusting leftists taking a knee for any excuse.
Then, if Comatose Joe wins, his policy will be to “help” the progressives of Israel to find it’s “true voice” by sanctioning Israel and reversing each and every executive action taken by The Trump Adm.
How is that good for Israel at this point in time? It is not. I am disappointed Shaked cannot see this.
    If Trump is re-elected, then…….
What the hell is the rush??
Until then, no. What is in Shaked head, The Olmert Bug?
