Will PM Netanyahu’s Legacy Be Permanently Thwarting Application of Israeli Law to Jordan Valley?

By Dr. Aaron Lerner 10 June 2020

Shalom Yerushalmi reported this morning that Israeli diplomatic sources say Prime Minister Netanyahu has decided not to apply Israeli law to the Jordan Valley in order to avoid a crisis with Jordan.

If indeed Mr. Netanyahu has adopted this argument, his legacy may be establishing that there can never be conditions on the ground for applying Israeli law to the Jordan Valley:

#1. Good relations:  do not apply Israeli law to the Jordan Valley to avoid a crisis with a friendly country.

#2. Neutral relations: do not apply Israeli law to the Jordan Valley to avoid pushing Jordan into the enemy camp.

#3. Bad relations: do not apply Israeli law to the Jordan Valley to avoid starting a war.

#4. In military conflict: do not apply Israeli law to the Jordan Valley as such a move would make it impossible to reach a ceasefire.

It should be noted that concern over creating a “crisis with Jordan” has served as the key argument against applying  Israeli law to the Jordan Valley before, during and after Mr. Netanyahu decided to make  the promise to apply Israeli law to the Jordan Valley his key election campaign promise.

  1. The snail-pace political drama going on in Israel for the past couple of years, is enough to put a zealot on methamphetamies to sleep. Netanyahu seems to be under the thumb of the High Court and indictments, like just about every Israeli PM before him; and I would be shocked if the High Court weren’s completely in the hands of globalist manipulators.

    What’s more, concerning Bibi, izzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz……….
