Kushner always impresses me with his intelligence and his elocution. He has been very successful in all the tasks Trump has given him.

  1. According to Israel Hayom,”The assessments that Israel Hayom has come across in the political world indicate that the top echelons in the Israel Defence Forces are convinced that another Gaza war is closer than ever.”

Many in the IDF command are said to believe that Israel will at some point have no choice but to conducta major opeation against Hamas. Nafthali Bennett has said as much. The balloon bomb offensive cannot be tolerated indefinitely,, as life has become intoerable for Jews in the “Gaza envelope.” However, IY also was told by a “senior official” that Bibi will not authorize an operation before the election, in order to avoid interfering with the electio, and in order to avoid accusations that the operation was motivated by domestic political considerations.

  2. @ DEAN BLAKE:

I have pointed out this…about 60 times over the years…exhaustively. Makes no difference..Ignorance will always prevail, as the stupid outnumber the intelligent by about 100-1.

To augment your comment, the Al Aksa was indeed a partially damaged Byzantine Church named St. Mary and St. John..or some such similar kind of name. The Arabs repaired it , added a few domes…and VOILA…!! a “Holy” Mosque, MUCH LATER tied to Muhammed’s dream about flying to the farthest point (then it was Medina) on his fabulous “WINGED” horse….. and became an accretion to the already mystical and nonsensical beginning of Islam……

The Dome was built by the Caliph Abt-El Malik, who, at that time via his generals, was waging a bloody “civil” war against an opposing Caliph down around Mecca way.
He built the Dome, on what was reputed to be the site of the Holy Temple of the Jews, on the advice of a Jewish adviser, It had been, for most of the Byzantine centuries, a rubbish dump He had it cleared, and built his Dome, Intended for just a Meeting Place, purposely had 4 entrances N,S, E, and West, to show that it was open to all.

The news came that his generals had prevailed, and he assumed Lordship over all the Arabs. El Malik’s Arabs came from the Western Desert, beyond Jordan, not from the Arabian Peninsula…unless it stretches also geographically to the Western Desert.

  3. Quite often in interviews like this one, the questions not asked and therefore not answered are far more interesting than those asked and answered.

I heard nothing asked about Iran. Surely, one cannot draw maps and speak of money here without dealing with Iran. It would be no surprise to find that the Iranian regime will send funds to Abbas should Arab money shrink to a trickle.

Another issue not dealt with is the possible disintegration of the current Iranian regime. Gestures of support for this ‘deal of the century’ from Arab countries is, I think, a direct result of the terror they feel for the Iranians. They have to be seen to placate the U.S. because, should Iran attack them, the U.S. is their saviour. Once one removes that source of fear, I think we shall see a return to opposition to the existence of Israel. An acquaintance with Arab history shows that no deal is permanent and nothing is sacred. And I am not referring to Moslem-Jewish or Moslem-Christian quarrels. I am referring to Arab-Arab relations.

And so the words that I did not hear are ‘for now’. Because that is what this deal is.

  4. Dome of the Rock is misidentified as the Al Aksa Mosque. The mosque is south a small black domed 8 sided structure with multiple additions, N, S, W and beneath. Probability originally a baptismal structure to an Eastern Orthodox Church on the site of the collinade addition to the mosque on the north.
