T. Belman. What he is saying is that Hamas wants no part of the Jordan Option.
Hamas leader says Jordan is a red line and all of Hamas’ energy is directed toward the “enemy.”
Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh met with Jordanian parliamentarians and political activists and spoke with them about Hamas’ position regarding Jordan.
The Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper reported that Haniyeh stressed that the Palestinian Arabs stand alongside Jordan against the idea of ??establishing an alternative Palestinian homeland in Jordan, against the settlement of “refugees” in Jordan and against any Israeli idea of ??resolving the conflict outside the borders of “Palestine”.
Jordan is a red line, Haniyeh said, noting that all of Hamas’ energy is directed at the “enemy” and that the Palestinians and Jordanians are in the same boat on the main issues.
Haniyeh expressed appreciation for the positions of King Abdullah II and thanked Jordan for the establishment of a hospital in the Gaza Strip.
He further said that Hamas does not hold talks with the US or anyone else about the so-called “Deal of the Century” or any other political plan that could violate Palestinian rights.
Jordan’s security is a Palestinian interest, stressed Haniyeh, who is expected to visit Russia and possibly Iran as well in the coming days.
@ Buzz of the Orient:
A lot has been written on this.. In a nutshell,we embrace Martin Sjherman’s idea of compensated emigration. Arab “refugees”are enrolled with UNRWA from whom they recei9ve, education, wefare and old age security. UNRWA has to be shut down which Trump is doing, These refugees (2 million) would be told that they should emigrate to Jordan because Jordan will providwe thwem with the same assistence..
Secondly Israel will create jobs for Palestinians in Jordan rather than in Area C. And thirdly, free housing will also be provided.to all emigrants.
You get the idea.
Out of curiosity, in order to create the Jordan Option, what would be the method of moving all the Arab residents of the West Bank and especially of Gaza to Jordan? It would take an impossible fortune if compensation money and the cost of creating an environment were the lure, especially since the Gazans would lose a Mediterranean Sea coastline for a tiny sea access.
@ greenrobot:
You got it.
Jordan is Arab Palestine. Israel is Jewish Palestine. The 2 state solution.
Jerome Verlin Said:
No he does not. Currently the Palestinians have no state. They claim to want a state west of the Jordan River. The Jordan Option presented by Mudar and me offers them an alternative state to the one they say they want.
@ Donald S Skupsky:
Don’t be naive. Its all about destroying Israel.
Haniyeh says he’s against “establishing an alternative Palestinian homeland in Jordan.” But he means an “additional,” not an “alternative,” Palestinian Arab homeland. Jordan already IS a Palestinian Arab Palestine homeland. It was 78% of the Palestine Mandate, leaving only 22% for the Mandate’s Jewish national home. Palestinian Arabs not ruling Palestinian Arab majority Jordan is to be solved in that Palestinian Arab majority 78% of the Mandate, not by again dividing between Arabs and Jews the first division’s 22% left for the Jews.
I can’t figure out why Hamas is against a Palestinian state in Jordan. Jordan is within the original borders of Palestine.
Interesting the sodomite still uses the name gaza. It’s good that he and the HASHmites are in the same sinking boat . Wonder what passport haniyeh uses? Trying to build up as many airline points as abbarse?
