Kelly and Tillerson tried to recruit Haley in efforts to undermine Trump

During this week’s broadcast of “CBS Sunday Morning,” it was revealed that former Trump administration U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said in her book “With All Due Respect” that then-White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and then-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson “confided in me that when they resisted the president, they weren’t being insubordinate, they were trying to save the country.”

Reading from Haley’s book, Norah O’Donnell asked, “Tillerson went on to tell me the reason he resisted the president’s decisions was because if he didn’t, people would die. Do you memorialize that conversation? It definitely happened?”

Haley said, “It absolutely happened. And instead of saying that to me, they should’ve been saying that to the president, not asking me to join them on their sidebar plan. It should’ve been, ‘Go tell the president what your differences are, and quit if you don’t like what he’s doing.’ But to undermine a president is really a very dangerous thing. And it goes against the Constitution, and it goes against what the American people want. And it was offensive.”

John Kelly released a statement to CBS saying, “If by resistance and stalling she means putting a staff process in place…to ensure the [president] knew all the pros and cons of what policy decision he might be contemplating so he could make an informed decision, then guilty as charged.”

  1. @ Wooly Mammoth:
Incidentally, Kudos to PM Netanyahu for appointing N. Bennet to The Defense Ministry. It was the right move at the right time.
Bennet will now have his opportunity to show and prove why he, Bennet should be considered as a Prime Minister to eventually replace Netanyahu.
PM Netanyahu should help Bennet, to the fullest. Keep those Blue and White zombies in the opposition.
Finally, the day has come to express the obvious; PM Ariel Sharon deserves credit for preventing the creation of a Palestinian State. I did not like the way he did it, as I was totally opposed to the withdrawal from Gaza District, but is essence, Sharon, who was under heavy pressure from The US, whom Israel was dependent upon, to make a concession to a ,”Palestinian State”.

  2. @ Buzz of the Orient:
Depending upon who is chosen to oppose him in the General Election, do not be shocked if Trump brings Haley in as his VP running mate.
Pence may prefer a change of pace to boot. He would have tremendous options as he has done an excellent job. A very intelligent decision of Trump to bring him on board. It was a critical decision and so too would be making the historic and bold move to Ambassador Haley.

  3. In my opinion, Nikki Haley would be a great POTUS, a benefit to both America and Israel. If I were an American I would knock on doors to campaign for her.
