Strong Borders Is a Moral Category

God said in the Bible, “And I shall protect your borders so that strangers and enemies not fill your camp and become a thorn in your side.”

  1. Just how universal is the Torah meant to be? Were such mitzvot as this – spoken to Israel – meant for those Jews living in the Land of Israel? All others are required to follow the Noachide laws. Are the Christians of the Americas under the Torah or under the Noachide laws? While Rabbi Spero makes a good argument for what the Torah verse really means, who in the US will accept it as truth? Maybe we should be teaching the laws of Noah to Americans, rather than the laws of Torah. Just sayin…..

  2. When will a U.S.. government do some creative thinking about why thousands of Central Americans are fleeing their countries? Maybe there are policies that can reduce the perils of living in these countries. One such policy could be the legalization of drugs. No illegal drugs, no drug gangs. No drug gangs, no reason to flee. The U.S. spends trillions on managing the Middle East (oil), but is asleep about the instability its war on drugs has inflicted on Central and South America.
