Brett Kavanaugh

At 12:30 in the afternoon on September 27, I don’t think there were many serious political thinkers or activists on the Right who thought Brett Kavanaugh would survive that morning’s testimony by his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford.

Eight days later—today—Kavanaugh all but secured his appointment. The question is, how did this happen. The answer is: Kavanaugh happened.

  1. @ Ira:
    Hi, Ira

We came very close to the collapse of the rule of law in the US. The Democrats used Gestapo and gangster tactics, to bully lawmakers into attacking the fundamental underpinnings of our liberty (such as “presumed innocent until proven guilty). Those tactics failed only by the grace of God, through the coolheadedness and firmness of purpose of our Republican President and senators; and at that, they only barely failed THIS TIME AROUND ONLY.

    These are very troubling times.

  2. Not only does it look as though Kavanaugh will get confirmed, but Trump’s approval rating has risen and it looks as though the Republicans may pick up a seat or two in the Senate. They may also retain control of the House, making a complete dusting for the Democrats. This is because “Never Trump”ers like Rubio stood with their party, Mitch McConnell performed at his best, Kavanaugh made a compelling personal defence, Ford acquitted herself like a lost little girl, Lindsey Graham grew a full set of gonads, and more — in other words, because God pulled off a miracle in answer to fervent prayer.
