Conference: A MEETING OF MODERN MUSLIM MINDS – FIVE REFORMIST MUSLIMS AT ONE EVENT
T. Belman. The Conference Coordinator, Dr. Alan Altman, who is also an avid follower of Israpundit, asked me to help publicize this event. How could I say no.
Most of us have written off Islam and consider it unreformable. Yet the five featured speakers, who each know more than any of us about Islam, have devoted their lives to proving us wrong and bringing about change. As it turns out, I met Zuhdi Jasser 10 years ago in Washington DC and recently thanked him for his strong stand rejecting the Muslim Brotherhood. I have also know Professor Salim Mansur for over 10 years and in fact brought him from Canada to Jerusalem to speak at my conference on the Jordan Option held last October. Finally, I have followed the work of Moderator, Raheel Raza, and met her at a talk she gave in a private home in Jerusalem about one year ago.
For those of you who can attend, don’t miss the opportunity to hear what they have to say.
I WOULD BE REMISS IF I DIDN’T REMIND YOU THAT AL SISI CALLED OF REFORM ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO AND MOHAMMED BEN SALMAN DID THE SAME LAST YEAR. MUDAR ZAHRAN IS ALSO ON RECORD OF CALLING FOR REFORM.

Reads like a bunch of reform rabbis wanting to rewrite the Torah
@ Abdul Ameer:
Well said. Trump always called for the defeat of their ideology.
These reformers must answer your charges.
This is very unfortunate because this conference with these phony “reformers” will only perpetuate the lie that Islam is basically a religion of peace if only these moderates, who are asking for your money, can get “political Islam” out of Islam. But, that is impossible because the political aspects of Islam come from the same Koran and Sunnah that the rest of Islam comes from. Islam is a belief system, and it is based on the Koran which is considered by all Moslems, even these so-called “reformers” to by the literal word of their god. No mortal human being is going to determine which of his god’s literal words need to be rejected, modified, repudiates or changed. None of these self-styled “reformers” ever tell us which of the jihadist verses in the Koran are no longer valid because that would make them apostates, and they would no longer be above to call themselves Moslems — and their careers and celebrity status depends on their being considered Moslems by the non-Moslems who support them. The Moslem community totally rejects them, and they also reject the notion of reform. Islam has always been considered to be perfect (because Allah in the Koran says so!), and it is logically absurd even to consider reforming something that is considered perfect. These so-called “reformers” are, in practice, not reformers at all.
The belief system of Islam is the problem, not the “Islamists”, not the Islamic leaders, not even the Muslim Brotherhood whose ideology is a logical outgrowth of Islam. It is great that these “reformers” are against the Muslim Brotherhood and The Islamic Republic of Iran, but they can be of no help to us because the underlying ideology of Islam is taught and preached in all mosques where the Koran is considered the literal word of Allah.
Follow the logic of Islam and everything becomes clear about the Islamic threat and about the futility of these “reformers”.
