PLO: We foiled Trump’s Mideast peace plan

T. Belman. Utter hubris. The PA and PLO have sidelined themselves and they don’t even know it.

Senior PLO leader boasts that Palestinian Authority effectively blocked President Trump’s ‘Deal of the Century’.

Azzam al-Ahmad, a senior member of the Palestine Liberation Organization and a Palestinian Authority legislator claimed recently that the PA had successfully blocked a long-awaited Middle East peace deal floated by President Donald Trump’s administration.

The peace plan, dubbed by Trump the “Deal of the century”, was never publicly released, though envoys Jared Kushner and Jason Greenblatt discussed the key issues in the deal with both Israeli and Palestinian Authority officials during a series of visits to the region since Trump took office in January 2017.

The PLO is set to hold a meeting next Monday in Ramallah to discuss the recent political developments in the region, including the PA’s responses to the Trump administration’s moves in the Middle East. The meeting will be hosted by PA chief Mahmoud Abbas.

The meeting is the latest by a special committee empowered by the PA to draw up responses to the Trump administration’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, and the transfer of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Last month, the committee voted to freeze the PLO’s recognition of Israel until a Palestinian state is established along the June 4th, 1967 borders.

According to reports in the PA’s WAFA mouthpiece, Al-Ahmad recently discussed plans by the committee next week to address the Trump administration’s Mideast peace plan, and efforts to reach a “humanitarian solution” for the Gaza Strip.

Al-Ahmad claimed the effort to improve the living conditions of Gazans outside of the context of a final status agreement was an attempt to negate the PA’s demands for statehood.

“A humanitarian solution for the Gaza Strip [would come] at the cost of [nullifying] legitimate international decisions and the two-state solution,” said al-Ahmad.

The PLO leader added that the PA had succeeded in neutralizing Trump’s “Deal of the Century”, rendering it effectively irrelevant. Since PA objections torpedoed the achievement of a comprehensive deal under the aegis of the Trump administration, al-Ahmad continued, the White House had shifted its approach, looking for a piecemeal solution to the Middle East crisis, including “humanitarian solutions” for the Gaza Strip.

I am baffled by all of this.

Did the Israeli leadership forget the Jews have G-d given rights to the Holy Land, all of the Holy Land from the River Jordan to the Mediterranean including Gaza, the Sinai, Judea & Samaria and the Golan Heights.

Shouldn’t they be about the business of securing the land entrusted to them and not worry about world opinion or that of the anti-Semite world leaders?

    Keep the olive trees.

  2. @ Bear Klein:

My wife and I were fans of Charles and had the opportunity a few years ago to attend his appearance at our local theater. A full house and the crowd insisted he return again.

Whether he knew it or not, he was good medicine for the country.

  3. @ david melech:

Naaah…!! If they realise how good living in Israel is they won’t go…and we don’t want THAT to happen. What I’m afraid of with this Trump Peace plan is that it will involve the Arabs staying, amid better circumstances, instead of encouraging them to leave by worse conditions….

  4. If you ignore the hysteria of the media, you will notice that President Trump is having successes where none of his predecessors did. For seventy years, presidents followed the logic that they would not engage with North Korea until North Korea had totally capitulated to all their demands. To do anything else, their reasoning went, was to give legitimacy to North Korea that it did not deserve. This failing strategy was also pushed by the Secretaries of State and the State Department. Trump took a completely different tact and said that talking could not hurt and maybe could build some trust. Now look at what is happening. The sixty-five year old war is coming to an end.

I think we all gave a collective groan when we heard of the President’s attempt at a new Peace Initiative in the ME. He seemed to be following a tried and failed path. But looking at how he has succeeded in North Korea and the many other successes he had had, I am happy to think I, at least, was mistaken.

Looking back at the last twenty-four plus years, we have seen three presidents fail over and over again. It was assumed that Trump would do the same.
Thank God, Trump seems to be different. Now I have to get used to a president that has no intention of losing. I also have to get used to a president that does not set himself up to fail by telling to world what he is doing before hand.

All this winning gives me hope that President Trump’s plans for the ME will not follow the path of the last twenty-four years. Wow, it is taking me time to wrap my head around this. I was so used to failing that I forgot what winning looks like. For the first time, I am guardedly optimistic the PA will die a painful death and that Israel will finally have well deserved peace.

God bless America, God bless Israel

  5. There is only 1 peas plan. It’s named surrender. The arabs must know Peres, Sharon and Rabin died for their Sins. And so will the fakestiens. The surrender plan must be written by a non ISRAELI. Simple you admit you lost in 48, 56, 67, 73 etc. The Egyptian plan, the Jordan plan, the Wye river plan all need to be revised. You will return to the/any land your name is associated with. You will take your belongings, when settled and you show proof of a bank account monies from your bank here will be transferred. You will not receive moving monies from ISRAEL, deductions will be made for outstanding bills.
You will have a nice life trying to overthrow the government of your new country. But note they will not go easy on you as ISRAEL foolishly did. Your new country will not allow u n, e u. Etc to interfere. Go in peas, realize how good ISRAELI living was.
PS. You can take apart your places of worship, or leave them to be ‘
    blowing in the wind’
PPS so long farewell and as Shakespeare would have said FO

  6. @ Bear Klein:
    Hi, Bear

You and Edgar are good menschen.

Concerning Charles Krauthammer, I’m reminded of a scrtipture:

    Amos 8:
[11] Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
[12] And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.
[13] In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst.

I’m not saying Krauthammer was a prophet of God; but by comparison to the MSM, he SEEMED like one. I didn’t agree with some of this political positions, nor of some of his prognostications; but I loved his transparent honesty. There is so much falsehood in the world today; and it seems to be greater, the closer you get to places of power. It really is a dearth.

God bless and keep you and Edgar.

  7. @ Michael S:
I was a huge fan and admirer of Charles Krauthammer. One of the few people I looked up to and could not wait to listen to or read. A real class act intellectual and true friend of Israel.

My wife was also a huge fan and loved Charles. My wife also died from cancer in early 2017.

  8. Abbas and the PLO are old desperate fools. They and their rhetoric and false narrative have effectively rendered themselves toothless. They would be more effective with a Ghandi hunger strike sit in peaceful protest.

The whole strategy was to have Israel give away Jerusalem and Judea/Samaria plus flood Israel with Arabs until Israel crumbled away.

Trump put a massive crimp in this with recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel plus moving the Embassy. He also made it clear that Israel would not have to agree to two state solution unless it wanted to. He was not going to arm twist Israel into stupid security moves. Israel would determine its own security.

So Trump has not yet joined Bayit HaYehudi but he is certainly is the best POTUS towards Israel ever to date. Bibi has been working with some of the Gulf States for years it has been revealed. Trump is helping cement that cooperation. This works for security and quiet trade deals.

  9. Israel’s announcement about lessening it’s involvement in UNHRC is that it’s “temporary”….yet it praises the US for leaving that collection of pond scum.

  10. @ Michael S:

You sound very emotional which is, I suppose normal for one who feels about Krauthammer’s loss as you do. I always liked his work but not knowing actually someone personally, prevents my feeling such emotion, other that that I’m sorry he’s gone, and by such a terrible illness. He braved his way through all his paralysing incapacity as if it hadn’t been there, and he deserves your sorrow.

On another point, I just discovered to my shock…..(just read it in Arutz) that Israel is STILL a member of the UNHRC, and is “considering lessening it’s role” there. To me that’s so disgusting that I could throw up from aggravation if I wasn’t by now, long seasoned against the most crass, ignorant and dishonest practices that pervade all Israeli society, from top to bottom. I don’t think there is another democracy in the civilised world where it’s rulers and prominent people go in and out of Jail on a regular basis, like a revolving door, with practically -by comparison- no social stigma attached.

By the way, I don’t now live in Israel. I did, for 7-8 very good years, I was married there because to me it was special mitzvah, my 4 children were born there, and the balance of about 6 years , were sheer torment.

  11. @ Edgar G.:
    Hi, Edgar

I guess I’m the only one here, who’s more moved by the death of Charles Krauthammer, than by the BS from the Pals, Dems, RINOS, MSM and other BSers of the world. Fox News plans to put together a memorial program in honor of him; but any memorial is just a stele: the life has left us. Events keep happening around the world; but Charles is not here to help us make sense of them. I feel a tremendous sense of loss, for this man I never met.

As for thos Pal A–holes, who are bragging about how “successful” they have been at preventing peace in the Middle East; I only wish President Trump and every American takes notice of what unchangeable, recalcitant, unrepentant, evil jerks these people are. This is no news: They are just being themselves — their rotten, dead-headed selves.

Yes, everything you said above is true. If I lived in Israel, as you do, I would long for the day when empty land replaced every place now polluted with Arab Muslim habitation. The sooner they all pack up and leave, the better.

Pardon me, Edgar, for this fractured communication. I just took a break of some duration; and as is our way, my wife and I discussed the Bible a bit. Coming from the world of Torah, down to the world of these stubborn, lying, arsonist Palestinians, is quite a journey. It makes me appreciate how marvelous it is, that God even pays attention to us.

These Arabs think they have won a great victory, by “preventing” peace from breaking out in the Middle East. MAKING peace takes considerable effort, helped along by the likes of God Almighty. BREAKING it, on the other hand, takes practically no effort at all: Raise your voice, light a fire, break wind; it’s easy.

I have a peace proposal, one with a proven track record. Secure passage to Sweden, for all the Arabs in Israel and “Palestine”, who are not content with the prospect of living under the rule of the Jews. Sweden has an infinite capacity for such people, and Israel has all the money it needs to book passage. Why haven’t the tickets already been cut? Is there a paper shortage in Israel?

God bless and keep you and yours; and God bless and keep Israel.

  12. By “foiling” Trump’s Plan, they have actually pushed themselves out of any consideration or consultation, when this plan is proposed for implementation. Never the less, I’m sure that Trump has included considerations for their positions, and fake claims regardless.

I hope that the Jewish Government, does not agree to anything which permanently takes away our hope for an Israel from The River to the Sea, and a plan to become almost or completely free of those pathologically deranged murderers.

Any “humanitarian” plan for the Gaza murderers should not envisage them staying there, and should be based on their removal to a more suitable area of which there are many in the Arab world. A humanitarian plan for Gazans, is akin to trying to prevent an intending suicide from holding a gun to his own head.

  13. The Philistines think that they stopped President Trump’s peace initiative. Actually, they have signed on to their total destruction in Israel and the surrounding Arab countries. In time, they all will lie dead without atomic weapons. They will be buried in a valley in Jordan sand, and it will take almost a year to put them in the ground to rot.
