Mark Steyn on the Leftist/Islamic preference for violently shutting down opponents

“This brand new SteynPost was taped hours before this morning’s shooting of House Majority Whip Steve Scalise and others at a GOP team practice for the Congressional baseball game. Mark looks at recent examples of political violence, and the left’s preference not for winning the debate but for shutting down the debate – by any means necessary.”

This is an increasingly common pattern among Leftists and Islamic supremacists. I discuss it in detail in my upcoming book The Complete Infidel’s Guide to Free Speech (and Its Enemies).

  1. When he talks about Mitchell asking Walid Sheikh Mohammed whether it was difficult to behead someone and this monster coldly taking it as a technical question, I was reminded of this scene from “Judgement at Nuremberg.” For me this is the most chilling scene in the movie and I have often thought of it. Incidentally, Werner Klemperer, most famous for his role of Colonel Klink in “Hogan’s Heros” was the son of a famous Jewish conductor, Otto Klemperer, who had to flee Nazi Germany to save his life.
