Amona residents reject evacuation deal: ‘You can’t buy us’

Samaria town slated for demolition rejects deal to evacuate in exchange for new community.

By Uzi Baruch, INN

Amona

Representatives of the Samarian community of Amona responded on Saturday night to a report in the Haaretz newspaper of a deal to evacuate their homes in exchange for the green-lighting of a new town.

According to the Haaretz report, the Defense Ministry and Amana organization – which promotes Jewish settlement of Judea and Samaria – had agreed to evacuate Amona and in exchange construct a new town more than three times its size, with 139 housing units compared to 40 in Amona.

Amona has been deemed illegal by the Israeli Supreme Court, which has ruled that the village was constructed on private Arab land. The community is slated to be demolished later this year.

On Saturday, however, residents of Amona spoke out against the deal, saying that they intended to fight the plans for eviction. Representatives of the town noted that Amana leader Zev Hever – nicknamed Zambish – had no authority to speak on their behalf.

“Zambish doesn’t represent us. We explained and clarified dozens of times to Amana and its leaders and to the Defense Ministry and others that we won’t evacuate. They won’t buy us off with money or real estate. We’re happy to hear about the establishment of a new community in Judea and Samaria, but let everyone be clear about something: it’s [the new town] not for us and it’s not going to come at our expense.”

“This is an opportunity to clearly state to anyone who tries to sell us out behind our backs: we will not play along. We’re not anyone’s toy soldiers. We’re here for good, to create a new situation: gone are the days of demolishing Jewish communities in Israel and expelling Jews from their homes.”

“We oppose this cynical attempt to relocate Amona, and we will do everything we can to stop it. In recent months there’s been real progress towards legalizing Amona. It’s a shame that now of all times we’re being betrayed. We call on community leaders to oppose this [relocation of] Amona and join the efforts of community leaders to find a solution to legalize Amona where it currently stands, a solution that will be a remedy for thousands of other homes in Judea and Samaria”.

  1. @ honeybee:
I made a grammatical mistake when using “leave”. I meant: left apparently no ….
For me the chameleon is an ideal substitute for anti-Semite/anti-Semitism.
By the way, Jews who did not suffer from anti-Semitism have nothing to transmit to their children and many by choice don’t even tell them what happened to many other Jews.
Probably the vast majority of US Ashkenazim have never heard of Sephardim or even of their expulsion from N-Africa and the ME.
But I like ur sense of humor.
    Do U “sting?”!!!

Oh yes it did. My Mother’s fear that people would not think we were clean, nice, polite, well dressed. Don’t make trouble was the mantra. My female cousin “nose jobs” at 14,like a right of passage. ” NOW YOU ARE ASSIMILATE “. Fear rules the Liberal Jew.

A lack of political courage, vision? Most likely tremendous blackmail from the WEST! Which requires even more courage if a vision is present to justify the risks.

  4. Two types of Jews will give up on Israel: the dhimmis and the lefties! There are too many of both in the US and Israel. I am afraid. Two thousand years of PERSECUTION leave no imprint (“scar”) in their “genetic brains”. It reminds me of the fact that common sense is UN-common and almost always overruled by POLITICIANS.
“Charisma” with no achievement(s) is plain empty talk and anything BUT CHARISMA.

It will soon become apparent to even the most ardent apologists for BB/Yaalon that they have been conned in a scam, a fraud. BB will be coming out of the closet after he melds with his faux zionist party. Everything he has done to destroy nationalism and zionism from within the movement will become apparent to the biggest dummies. He has already succeeded… the right wing who won the election vote is now de facto completely leashed and destroyed.

That we are prepared to continue and sacrifice again and again if necessary to hold on to our little country….

but most Israelis including the PM appear to believe that “the little country to fight for” needs to be smaller… perhaps as small as hong kong.

  8. Keli-A Said:

him being a fraud to be correct.

I should have added the word “again” at the end of that sentence.

any act inimical to Israel could easily be reversed once Trump is elected maybe even Hitlery too?

if he does not veto the UNSC resolution which will likely occur after the election and before he steps down, that UN resolution cannot be reversed by the US in the UNSC. It can do damage, and can be a legal basis for voluntary sanctions.

If you do NOT fight for what is legally and morally yours, don’t complain later if the enemies of Israel steal it from you. Here I am specifically alluding to J & S as an example.

I have always been uncomfortable with terms like Legally ours or morally ours…. Israel is our mainly because we fought for our existance and won. That we are prepared to continue and sacrifice again and again if necessary to hold on to our little country….

  10. bernard ross Said:

If BB goes along with it I would consider my speculations on him being a fraud to be correct.

I have known BB is a fraud since a month after he was first elected in 1996 when he accepted Oslo and gave away Hebron the second holiest site in Judaism. He betrayed us then and has never ceased. Our redemption will never come from the Likes of BB…..Unless he is forced to do what he should have done for the last 10-years of his terms as PM. He can be forced but who will do the forcing? I pinned my hopes on Obama and at each Obama threat BB has conceded and caved so there was never enough force used to make him do what he has never had the inclination, resolve or guts to do on his own. With six months left to Obama’s term in office he has little leverage and any act inimical to Israel could easily be reversed once Trump is elected maybe even Hitlery too? Remember that the overriding concern of BB is remaining in power as PM nothing else…. He was thrown out of office in his first term and has absorbed the message to never rock the boat but maintain at all costs the status quo.

  11. If you do NOT fight for what is legally and morally yours, don’t complain later if the enemies of Israel steal it from you. Here I am specifically alluding to J & S as an example.

  12. @ honeybee:
Withholding defense equipment (as Obama did) and insidious intellectual BDS (academia is in the hands of the left who has been boycotting IL scientists i.e.: refusal to publish IL papers or to invite IL scientists etc.) and possibly insidious economic blackmail. The Obama Adm. may withhold its veto at the UN SC in September and support Abbas!!!!

  13. @ Keli-A:
Even if the Pal evaporate, the West will force IL to abide by the Oslo accords. Because the West is at war with the Jews! They don’t give a damn of the Muslims. Anti-Semitism is a fundamental Western value.

  14. @ Keli-A:
this has been threatened for many years so the question is: has BB developed a plan for this scenario or will he whine and beg them to come to the table and give them an incentive to come? there are great opportunities with the end of Oslo becuase in my view it is only Oslo which gives the pals any legal interest in the west bank.

However, I suspect that BB will not use this as an opportunity for Israel to abandon Oslo and at least get area C for now. I would annex C and still lay claim to A& B. I would end all pal movement outside of AB and limit them only to go out through Jordan but no one to come in, including the UN and foreigners. But I wager that BB will do the opposite somehow. If he has no planned scenario then it is my sign that it is purely bullshite for BB to get the Jews to buy a concession for talks… perhaps a major concession. If BB goes along with it I would consider my speculations on him being a fraud to be correct.

I seems they have learnt nothing from the crime committed with the evacuation of Yamit. History is about to repeat itself.
They gained nothing and lost a lot. The human displacement of so many people and the emotional toll in the families of the evacuees means nothing to the Israeli government.
As long as they are in their cushy government positions and milking the situation they do not care about the livelihood and well being of the population.
May they burn in hell if they dare evacuate by force the residents of Amona.
The wrath of Almighty G-d may curse them and their descendants forever.

Zambish is a traitor a stooge for the government and a Trojan Horse of the settlement leadership. I am surprised he is still there and working to undermine from within the settlement movement and it’s activists

this statement might be true if you substituted the name Netanyahu for Zambish…… which also might explain why Zambish is where he is too. Intelligence agencies understand the “mole” principal by either setting up orgs or putting moles into them. the same happens in politics. If we look at Bb’s behavior there can be no doubt that he has serially worked against Jewish nationalism and Jewish settlement….. whenever he has an opportunity to make a choice his option is anti Jew. But he manages to put a fig leaf on it so that his apologists and naive voters think he is for the right wing. BB’s function is to hold the needs of the Jewish people in check when they brim over, keep them in their place and status quo until the climate moves left again.
Here is an example of how he operates:

    http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/211922#.Vy9C_IQrLIU

He appears to be in a conflict with yaalon, his appointed stooge as the public face of keeping the Jews quiet, however he has merely learned his lesson from duma when he, yaalon, erdan and rivlin jumped up together in unison singing the same song of the terrorist Jew. He realized too late then that he should have just let the others jump up and do his work as he usually does. Yaalon would not have convicted the soldier in advance of an investigation without the nod from BB. Yaalon is the fig leaf for BB which keeps him in Teflon…. really, its all a puppet show. On every issue Bb’s MO is the same…. he implements left wing policies and maintains a right wing image by operating the stooges. Sometimes he has to do things himself, like stopping the shaked supreme court bill, but only when he can frame it as a non right wing issue. Lightning rods and fig leafs…. thats his game.
