Report: Schumer Not Lobbying Senators against Iran Deal

He is “not lobbying his colleagues to vote with him against the agreement when the Senate takes up a “resolution of disapproval” in September, several undecided senators told Politico.

He explains this by saying everyone must decide for themselves.

To me this is nonsense.

Clifford May wrote an Open letter to Senator Schumer in which he wrote,

“Your work is not yet done, you know. You need to educate those of your colleagues who are educable. In for a penny, in for a pound, as they don’t say in Brooklyn.

“The stronger and more bipartisan the disapproval, the better.”

On matters big or small great efforts are made by lobbyists and Congressmen to get other Congressmen to either vote “yes” or “no” on proposed legislation. To do so is natural, normal and appropriate.

But for Schumer to beg off saying he won’t do so in this case, is unnatural, abnormal and inappropriate especially considering the importance of this resolution.

    Someone needs to remind Schumer that the leftist antisemites are not going to hate him any less because he wont lobby against the Iran deal. They wil still see him as the traitorous Jew who put Israel’s interest ahead of America’s. (You know its funny how leftists suddenly feign patriotism when they can use it to bash Jews and Israel.)

    This is why there is no point in half measures. Schumer might as well go all the way by actively lobbying against the deal. They will “blame” him anyway if the deal is rejected, and they will run somebody in the primary against him anyway.

  24. And he got it from Rush Limbaugh, who got it from Groucho Marx, who doubtlessly got it from someone else. It has long been in the public domain, and therefore not subject to attribution. But thanks for the etymology lesson, inaccurate though it is.

  26. American politics is show business for the ugly. It is bad theater in which the actors seek not to entertain the audience, but to deceive it. Schumer’s goal is to gain reelection while preserving his role as heir to Reid’s leadership position. He does not oppose the deal anymore than Boehner opposes Obamacare. They say what is necessary to fool the rubes who vote for them.
