The US could solve the conflict easily

By Ted Belman

Israel is negotiating with the US rather than  the PA.

World Tibune published Report:Israel moving toward a ‘Plan B’ for unilateral withdrawal from W. Bank. It is vague on details. And it suggests a much greater withdrawal then I am happy with.

But if the US would show some flexibility on its demands for 100^ withdrawal and would accept an 80% withdrawal, they could compensate Israel by formally recognizing Israel’s resulting borders. As a kicker, they would throw in the EU recognition of such borders. Of course Jerusalem would be undivided and Israel’s.

The Arab and Muslim world would howl but couldn’t do anything about it.

There should be no withdrawal without US and EU recognition and an end of conflict agreement with them.

  1. One way of looking at the so called peace process is to compare it to any government program. Once set up the program assumes a life of its’ own and no matter how worthless or deleterious it is nothing can kill it. The reason being that the program has become a meal ticket for the administrators and staff as well as those benefiting from it. The easiest thing for the government or group financing the monstrosity is to keep shelling out rather than killing it or letting it die a natural death. So too the peace process. Too many people, groups and states have a vested interest in keeping it alive solely for their own benefit.

  2. With all due respect, the US cannot solve the conflict over Israel no matter what it does. The underlying reason for the conflict has nothing to do with territory or with drawing new lines on old maps. We are dealing with an Islamic holy war against the Jews — nothing more and nothing less. The Islamic sacred texts, the Koran and the sayings of Muhammad, command Moslems to make war against the Jews and either subjugate them or kill them; and, so, any religious Moslem who wants to make peace with Israel would have to violate the commandments of his god and his prophet. He won’t do it. The conflict, therefore, has no solution; and the best we can hope for is US assistance in disarming those Moslems who threaten Israel, namely, Hamas, Fatah, Hizbollah, the Muslim Brotherhood and The Islamic Republic of Iran.

Every word in your post is the truth. I am still scratching my head trying to understand which part is still not clear…
This ‘diplomacy’ Shhhhhstufff has an unmistakeable stench of hypocrisy, and yet, like moth to the flame, they still keep coming….
    And pretending…

  4. Any withdrawal, of any size, would be suicidal. All these so called diplomatic agreements are worthless and not worth the paper they’re written on. This has been demonstrated so many times why bother to recount them. Israel will never achieve peace with the Palestinians because the Palestinians don’t want peace. They want Israel. Either in total or piece by piece.

  5. The EU would never accept the palestinians getting less than 100% of their demands. That’s part of being an “honest broker”
