Their crime, arming known terrorists.

Media giant Glenn Beck is now calling for the impeachment of President Barack Obama as well as some of the biggest names in the Republican Party for “arming known terrorists.”
Beck is reacting to a White House announcement Monday that waives part of the Arms Export Control Act to allow “non-lethal assistance” to rebels in Syria.
“I called today for the very first time in my career … I personally am calling to impeach the president of the United States. This is impeachable. He is arming known terrorists, and people like John McCain should be impeached as well,” Beck said on his broadcast this week.
“We know some of the arms are going to fall into the hands of al-Qaida. And how do we know that? Because the president just had to waive the law saying that we are going to arm known terrorists,” Beck said. “If that’s not an impeachable offense, for Lindsey Graham, for John McCain, for John Boehner, for the president of the United States, I don’t know what an impeachable offense is.”
“This president, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, and John Boehner, and anyone else who stands for giving aid and comfort, military support to al-Qaida in Syria, should be impeached,” Beck continued. “Notice there’s Republicans and Democrats, so it’s clearly not about party.”
“We did not get into bed with Hitler to defeat Japan. We did not do it,” Beck added. “It’s the height of insanity. But I also believe it is impeachable. I believe it is treason.”
Beck noted a disturbing irony when it comes to Obama’s treatment of U.S. citizens compared to terrorists.
“He’s taking guns away from the people while giving guns to al-Qaida,” Beck said. “What else do you need for impeachment?”

No one familiar with my posts here on Israpundit would ever accuse me of being pro-Obama, and I don’t back this latest action of his, either. But “impeachable” in this case? I’m not convinced.
Remember…it was Reagan who armed Al Queda in Afghanistan during the 80s. This was where OBL learned to fight, learned to lead…courtesy of the U.S. taxpayer. Ah, one might say, they hadn’t attacked us yet. OK, “yet”. But you think we might have vetted these people a little better?
If we are going to align with and support some entity, isn’t the commonality of the same with traditional American/Western values and institutions more than a little bit relevant? This was not the first time that we’d supported an unsavory bunch due to the expedience of the moment. And as in the case of many other examples of this, it came back to bite us. This time with Syria will bite us too, no doubt, but it is hardly without precedent.
I often wonder at how the course of history might have gone if we had just let the Russians win in Afghanistan. But we were so, so determined to pay them back for Vietnam, that we weren’t paying very close attention to whom we were getting in bed with.
I would agree that Obama is the worst president in U.S. history, and while I would not go so far as to say he is out to “destroy” America outright, he is certainly out to “transform” America into some variation on Belgium or Sweden (Islamist butt-kissing and anti-Israel b.s. included), will stop at nothing to do this, and has set new lows in political dishonesty and corruption in the pursuit of this.
I can think of a number of impeachable offenses Obama has committed. The IRS scandal and Benghazi top the list. But, I don’t think this matter cited by Glenn Beck is one of them.
“He’s taking guns away from the people while giving guns to al-Qaida,” Beck said. “What else do you need for impeachment?”
Good point. I really do believe Obama is out to destroy America.
