Its Kerry that’s not acting in good faith

By Ted Belman

The US was quick to react to yesterday’s announcement that the Civil Administration had approved the construction of 878 units outside the settlement blocs east of the green line.

State Department Spokeswoman Jen Psaki said when talking to reporters:

“The United States does not accept the legitimacy of continued settlement activity and opposes any efforts to legitimize settlement outposts.”

“The secretary has made clear that he believes both of the negotiating teams are at the table in good faith and are committed to working together to make progress.”

Sol Erekat, the Palestinian negotiator, wrote to Kerry to complain about “Israel’s bad faith and lack of seriousness”.

According to Erakat and Kerry anything Israel does not in accordance with a solution based on ’67 lines plus swaps, shows bad faith. How can this be? Israel made it very clear when it agreed to negotiations that she didn’t accept such a solution. Israel has every right to act in accordance with its position and is in good faith with its declared position when doing so.

It is the US and the PA who are acting in bad faith when they attempt to imposed conditions on Israel that she has rejected as part of her agreement to negotiate.

But the problem is that Kerry couldn’t care less what Israel agreed to didn’t agree to or what he accepted as Israel’s negotiating terms. He ignores all this and goes about imposing a solution on Israel.

But even more important is the fact that the issue of a building freeze is a red herring. If the Palestinians were acting in good faith, i.e., willing to compromise to reach a solution within nine months, then whether Israel built 1000 units in J&S during that time would be immaterial.

By asking for a freeze Kerry and the Palestinians are the ones acting in bad faith. A freeze only becomes important if the Palestinians are not in good faith and wish to prevent Israel from building ever. They want to slow Israel down as much as possible while they go about building as much as possible in Area C and being as intransigent as possible.

The only thing that will get the Palestinians to compromise their demands is rapid Jewish building in Judea and Samaria.

Meanwhile Kerry totally supports the Palestinian position.

I repeat: If we want to Keep all of Y&S retake the Temple Mount. There will be no peace process and Arab reaction hopefully will force even BB to suppress them and retake control over all of the territories.

BTW although I don’t think it will work I am not against it if it can lead to getting them out and ending this ridiculous process. Certainly you would think the right and religious could at least mass protests? the religiious know how to spit on women and beat up IDF soldiers so you would think they want the Mount, but who knows?

A few thousand zealous Jews storming the mount should do it and the Arabs will force the rest to Fall into place.

The GOI will lock them up. Israel will turn on the zealots. This solution is based on forcing war reminiscent of the mullahs take on the coming of the mahdi. the right cant even make a mass protest or milllion man march or protest like the left over money and housing. I think there is no right. Whenever I ask the question of what Likud stands for and how does one decide to vote when there is no platform I get no answers. I ask the same question on IB and BY. I have no idea on what basis an Israeli who is for YS chooses between IB,likud, BY or eldad. this is the right but who are they?

I have been saying the same thing for YEARS….If Feiglin was a real leader he would be organizing and leading not just calling on others.

feiglin has gone to the mount but no one else appears interested. There are probably 50 jewish religious sects who disagree on the Mount.

..sparked calls by activists for a mass-protest on 7th August, at the start of the Hebrew month of Elul.

    Did anyone come and protest?
Although I have in the past seen Feiglin as going to the Mount as a way to get votes but accomplishing nothing he has issued here a very clear and direct warning from inside the Likud warning of the giving away of sovereignty of the Mount by BB and Livni. Are the other Likud members saying they don’t know about this? Is the reason they remain in the party that they don’t care about the Mount? I suggest Likud members get deeply involved.

The Key to reversing the paradigm is the reconquest of the Temple Mount.

the key I refer to is first consistently and clearly stating to the world that Jewish settlement in YS is legal. After stating this then proceed along every PR, legal, diplomatic and educational pathway towards implementing the new paradigm. At the same time execute the new paradigm by instituting a massive fast track policy to settle Jews. If this paradigm was implemented the Temple Mount would not be given away. Israel began the problem and only Israel can end it. Israelis must wake up and the world will follow.
when I read the foreign news services when Israel comes up in the comments sections I always read of illegal Jewish settlement, jews stealing pals lands and jews starving and shooting pal children. One lie left without protest leads to the next bigger lie. Most of the trouble facing Israel today is born of the complicity of Israel with the lie of illegal jewish settlement. when the first settlement was removed for “pragmatic” reasons it had to be designated as illegal by the GOI. the continuing lie represents the betrayal of the state and people of Israel. The New paradigm is to stop the lie which has been created and maintained by the state of israel. BB is just one more of a bunch of liars. We can speculate on what he will do but we know he has lied and deceived the Israeli public by running on a platform to get their votes and then turning 180 degrees in the other direction: it’s called lying and deceit and those who support BB are fooling themselves or have become part of the deceit. First stop the lying: about settlement and about US pressure; expose the truth.

  3. Obama said no preconditions but he was only speaking for himself. He cannot talk for Kerry who believes to be in charge of the diplomacy when in fact he is not. These are Obama double talk. The idea is to blame Busch when things do not go his way in the economy and IL when things do not go his way in the ME. This must be right from the Alinsky red book.
In short and what was behind the scene is full front and preconditions are back on the table.
    This must be rejected outright.

A new paradigm in Israel will change the world paradigm.

The Key to reversing the paradigm is the reconquest of the Temple Mount. It will blow any chance for an agreement and begin to reestablish Jewish Sovereignty all through Y&S. A few thousand zealous Jews storming the mount should do it and the Arabs will force the rest to Fall into place.

Feiglin Declares ‘It’s Time to Flood the Temple Mount’

Feiglin: If the Right does not fight for the Temple Mount, it will be given over to Islam.

I have been saying the same thing for YEARS….If Feiglin was a real leader he would be organizing and leading not just calling on others.

Such an enterprise calls for Leadership. If Kahane were alive we would not need this discussion.

“There’s a process here of taking sovereignty over the Temple Mount into Islamic hands, and it’s part of an agreement that [Prime Minister Binyamin] Netanyahu and [Justice Minister] Tzipi Livni are going to build in the upcoming months,” he warned.

The political right must realize that unless it is willing to sacrifice for the sake of Jewish access to the holy site, nothing will happen, he added. “I call for everyone who hears us to come here, to understand that they are giving the very heart of Jerusalem to foreigners, to Islam,” he called.

Taking a conservative approach will not help, he said. “This isn’t a matter of policy, of authorizations – we’ve already tried all the accepted routes. We need to understand that there needs to be sacrifice here, that one thousand people show up ready to make sacrifices, ready to be arrested,” he explained.

If these ersatz religious Jews are more afraid of the Police and BB then G-d, it’s apparent their faith is weak to non-existent.

A few hundred to a few thousand might be enough. The nation will follow… I think

‘The Israeli Government Has Surrendered the Temple Mount’

Activists call for mass-protests after police say Judaism’s holiest site will be closed to Jews at least until after Ramadan, on August 11.

I repeat: If we want to Keep all of Y&S retake the Temple Mount. There will be no peace process and Arab reaction hopefully will force even BB to surpress them and retake control over all of the territories.

  5. Israel makes public announcements about building new homes in Judea and Samaria, while the Palis keep building without any announcements, in areas that belong to the State of Israel. And does Kerry or anyone object?

Besides, between announcing and doing, there is a huge gap, nothing is being built as yet. It is pure talk. Between all the red tape, and dilly-dallying, time goes by, and no construction of new housing goes up.

That’s the story, and the history of our lives.
It is time past due, to care less about Kerry/Obama and the so called world opinion, and pay more attention to what the GOI does and does not do in its own interest.

  6. “The United States does not accept the legitimacy of continued settlement activity

    Neither does Israel.
It is the govt of Israel which obstructs jewish settlement in YS in spite of its own commissioned Levy report. The GOI engages in lies and obstruction which is reflected in the world. A new paradigm in Israel will change the world paradigm.

  7. So does Netanyahu who has imposed a de facto freeze on Jewish construction in Judea and Samaria and in eastern Jerusalem.

What’s the big fuss all about? This racist measure is imposed only on the Jews. No one ever demands a freeze on Arab construction.

Arab faith is never required whereas on the other hand Jews must refrain from offending the Arabs. The double standard is alive and well!
