Feiglin: I Found the Money – We Spent It on Oslo

The Oslo Accords, not Israeli “settlements,” are the real drain on Israel’s budget, MK Moshe Feiglin (Likud Beytenu) said Monday night, speaking from the Knesset podium.

Feiglin poked fun at Yesh Atid head Yair Lapid’s “where’s the money” election slogan, and at Lapid’s suggestion that Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria are a drain on Israel’s financial resources.

“As a resident of the settlements I decided to look for the money, in order to give it back,” he began. “I have an announcement: I found the money. I found 453 billion shekels.”

“You want to hear where the money is?” Feiglin continued. “86 billion over the past 20 years in Israeli transfers to the terrorist regime in Gaza called the Palestinian Authority.”

“An increase to the Shin Bet since the Oslo Accords, adding up to 28.5 billion. You’ve seen how much the settlers cost us – let’s see how much the leftists and the idea of the Oslo Accords cost us.

“The Border Patrol in Judea and Samaria, which hadn’t been necessary before [the Oslo Accords] in Judea and Samaria, has cost us 19 billion since the Oslo Accords.

The added cost for deployment of the IDF since the Oslo accords is 87 billion shekels, he said. The security guards placed everywhere in Israel beacuse of the terror threat have cost 68 billion shekels to date. Roads paved to cirumvent terror hotspots have cost 20 billion shekels. The separation barriers have cost 4.7 billion shekels. Losses to the tourism industry after Operation Defensive Shield were 123 billion.

“This is the cost of the ‘brilliant’ idea of dividing the land and of the Oslo Accords,” Feiglin declared. “This is the cost of adopting a leftist ideology for the past 20 years.”

There are more expenses, he added, “Before Oslo, we did not need a guard stationed at every café, there were no terrorists blowing up here. It wasn’t paradise, but restaurantsweren’t blown to the skies.”

Lapid’s “where’s the money?” slogan has been mocked by hareidi MKs as well.

A Million March for Yesha – Excellent idea, but why hasn’t thie happened already? After so much discrimination, small expulsions in the middle of the night, and other abuses?

Women Against Rocks will protest not against their government, but against Arab terror. Perhaps they should also protest against govt policies that prevent them from defending themselves. http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/169052

And since I’m on the subject of women, Ms Babs Streisand came all the way to Israel after 29 years of absence only to tell Israelis that Jewish women are being unfairly treated by the Haredim. Not a word – that I’m aware of – about the women and their families who are threatened and attacked daily by murderous Arabs.

Those supporting the settlers and settlement far outnumber their opposites on the left and the political so called middle.

those on the right need to organize a “million man march” for YS. If such a massive march can be organized it will kill the canard of intransigent settlers with no support.

  3. PICTURES – 🙂
Pictures of ‘ugly’ dogs. Quite funny poses captured for a photo contest. They are all adorable! – http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2342999/Who-calling-pug-ugly-Meet-ruff-contenders-battling-worlds-ugliest-dog-competition.html

And I also want to apologize for typing “withdraw from everywhere this side of the fence” on my previous talkback. Obviously I meant “withdraw from everywhere across the fence”. My red-faced apologies.

We are wise to their tricks and MO. The weaker elements will leave in any case for compensation, safety or other reasons. Whoever remains will be armed and unafraid to protect themselves against whoever.

Not every nationalist and or nationalist religious Jew lives in the territories. I think most don’t but they are supportive.

How many of the Territories residents have kids in the IDF and a high % are officers in elite combat units. I expect them to return home and help with the resistance. Every settler has many friends and supportive relatives in Israel who will help in many ways.

Those supporting the settlers and settlement far outnumber their opposites on the left and the political so called middle. These groups also have their financial sponsors outside of Israel.

This is not necessarily a slam dunk for BB and the left. Just because certain information does not make it into the news and blog does not mean that preparations are not being made. It might spit the Likud, bankrupt Israel long before major decisions need to be made and acted on. In the meantime BB must be presented to the world as the liar and unscrupulous traitor he is and as one who cannot deliver what he promises. They might try then to impose a 2 state solution but that would unite all Israelis wall to wall.

  5. @ yamit82:
They don’t have to evacuate, they don’t have to compensate. What they can do is let loose the Arab terrorists and withhold IDF protection. Better still, they can completely disarm all Jews. Disarmament of Yesha Jews has been going on for some time, and it may accelerate – based on the IDF current policy of preventing Jews from defending themselves.

The govt just attempted to classify vandalism as “terror” so as to clamp down on anyone who is unhappy with govt policy in Yesha. Although Justice Minister Livni was very keen on it, the law did not pass in the Knesset. But if the govt unilateraly withdraws from everywhere this side of the fence, and gradually withholds protection for unarmed Jews, many families would simply pack up and leave just to save their children’s lives. Sderot residents and Jewish motorists know what it is like to be on their own, without any protection. And any Israeli Jew, including soldiers on patrol, can tell about their fear of prosecution if they try to use weapons against Arabs in self-defense.

    The point of no return

Half a million Jews beyond Green Line make West Bank’s evacuation impossible
    Sever Plocker

    It’s too late

The evacuation of 8,000 Jewish settlers from the Gaza Strip and their absorption in Israel cost taxpayers NIS 10 billion. Those interested in turning back time and evacuating Israelis from the areas beyond the 1967 borders would have to invest NIS 600 billion ($150 billion dollars) for that end. An unreal figure

  7. Israel spent billions on the most widely acknowledged national security disaster of the past two decades and Israel’s elites still haven’t learned a thing. Its time to put the failed Oslo experiment out of its misery!

  8. The list is not yet completed; the list goes on with the numerous unnumbered casualties and among others:

    Killed: approx. 1,520
    Injured: approx. 1,500
    Traumatized: hundreds of thousands

And how much occurrences which cannot be named or counted?

    Orphans: ????
    Widows: ????
    Amputated: ???

How many millions of dollars did all the terror attacks cost to the Israeli government in terms of health care?

How much distress, affliction, misery, distress, affliction, misery, et…?

Oslo Accords were not only illegal but even more criminal against the Jewish population, with the direct and voluntary participation of the Israeli government.

  9. TO MK FEIGLIN: In case you are reading this – please have someone research the estimated cost of surrendering any part of Judea and Samaria to Arab Nazis. It should include the cost of land, resources, defense, a taller and longer wall, tunnel detectors all along the wall, the construction of a safer international airport, resolving water issues, health costs resulting from air pollution from the Nazi state and from stress due to terror, and the cost to the economy from Jews leaving the country. Quite likely there will be a need to make the Nazi state viable by constructing a tunnel or road connecting it to Gaza. If possible, add the cost of building artificial islands, as suggested by president Peres a few years ago. He told the audience to forget about Judea and Samaria and to build artificial islands instead. Thank you.

Now how to bury the Oslo accords and the Two State Solution.

there is a saying in romanian which translates to “yes, we know the theory….it’s the actual doing that is killing us”….
were there to be a TRUE JEWISH LEADER around, then it would be like cutting the gordian knot… as simple as telling the world that israel is under ‘new management’ and israel will do what is good for israel, and the rest of the world, STARTING with the usa and eu can just go and…

…but were such a mythical figure appear (let’s assume it is feiglin for argument’s sake)and were it become apparent that he may actually succeed…..then i am afraid he may just mysteriously drown, or die of food poisoning or be shot by a ‘terrorist’ etc…

  11. Feigln is correct Oslo is disaster of the first order. Israel was ready to try something new to achieve peace. Even bringing sworn terrorists back to Israel from Tunsia. Israel made the PLO kosher in the worlds eye. Now how to bury the Oslo accords and the Two State Solution.

The awful truth is that we as Jews face a far worse enemy from WITHIN, than the one surrounding us, and here I am referring to the Chamish exposee on those in the GOI that are so intent on destroying Jewish homes and giving out Jewish land, all while shackling the hands of the true defenders.

    You guys are right on.

Please explain why the Israeli leadership is so bent on destroying Israel.

Their main objective is and should be securing the Holy Land that was entrusted to them.

Nowhere is it stated G-d gave any of them the authority to dice up the land and parcel it out at will.

The leadership should be in the business of building communities throughout all of Israel.

Above all they need to quit paying attention to outsiders, anti-Semite leaders of other nations.

Remember your friends will support you.

BTW, give the fish to the Pals.

  13. @ yamit82:
    Dear yamit,

The parable of the king the servant and the fish, which you have previously posted a few times in the past, cannot be more apropos to the current situation.
    AGREED on all accounts.
You have also posted, on other threads, videos about the late rabbi Kahane HYD, where he was talking about the state of Judea. Listened to it and, again,
    AGREED on all accounts.
The awful truth is that we as Jews face a far worse enemy from WITHIN, than the one surrounding us, and here I am referring to the Chamish exposee on those in the GOI that are so intent on destroying Jewish homes and giving out Jewish land, all while shackling the hands of the true defenders.

In view of the above, even if someone were to avail themselves of the “free room and board, health benefits, computer time etc” benefits as given to yg’al Amir … The hydra would replace a head that was cut off with two others….
Can you offer a ray of hope?

Israel, US and the Stinking Fish, Or Pragmatic Fish Eaters
    Read full essay!!

“The Talmudic parable of the king, his servant, and the fish. Never was it more apt.

Once there was a king who sent his servant to buy a fish. The servant returned with a fish that stank. In fury the king gave the servant a choice of three punishments: “Eat the fish, get whipped for the fish, or pay for the fish.” In common with most people, the servant chose not to reach into his pocket and he decided to eat the stinking fish but after two bites the stench made him give up and he decided to get whipped for it. The pain of the lashes, however, made him stop that, too, and he cried out, “I will pay for the fish!”

And so the fool ate the fish, got whipped for the fish and, in the end, had to pay for it, anyhow. Those in Israel and without, who refuse to understand that nothing will deter America from demanding that Israel make the maximum concessions, play the same fool. Those who do not understand that there is nothing that Israel can possible do, that there are no compromises it can make, that there is nothing short of full retreat to the 1967 borders that will satisfy the United States-are the same fools as the servant who ate, got whipped and in the end had to pay anyhow,”

  15. Wow! What a revelation! How come no one else has revealed these numbers before now? This information should be repeatedly hammered home to the Israeli public because they trump any political argument to the contrary and to refute the slander that the “settlements” are a drain on the treasury. Moshe Feiglin has performed an important service with this information. It also exposes yet again the insanity of the Israeli left.
