What is Israel’s position on Arab construction in Area C.

YNET reports:

On Sunday, Yedioth Ahronoth obtained a document detailing the planned Palestinian construction projects that are part of the “Fayyad Plan,” a template for a de facto Palestinian statehood.

The majority of the projects are in the Israel-controlled Area C, and many of them have already begun. Some are awaiting the approval of the Civil Administration, the Israeli governing body that operates in the West Bank.

Six cities, two airports, a high-tech complex, a university and a system of highways to connect all of the above are included in the new Palestinian construction plan aimed at setting facts on the ground and creating a territorial continuity in the West Bank.

The construction is premised on a Palestinian refusal to wait for the revival of peace talks, prompting them to independently lay down the foundations and infrastructure for an independent state.

The Civil Administration has already approved a big city in the Jordan Valley. What else have they approved. What are their plans and intentions on Arab building on Area C?

Noticed your absence past few days? Honey Bee too!

Could be that the Israeli government does not want to be accused or blamed for the breakdown of the peace process? Must not upset the Black guy in the white house… With all the problems coming down on Obama one would think he has enough on his plate than to take on a defiant Israel as well? Then BB is just being BB and would rather die than to be defiant to the Black guy or any guy in the White House, he would be left with no fig leaf for his betrayal of the Israeli people and the Zionist ethos. He would be held responsible for all act of commission and omission with no Uncle Sam to blame it on.

Regarding the belief that “money and prosperity will trump religious nationalism”, does anyone remember old Lebanon, which used to be hailed as a model for peace, secularism, and prosperity? That was a long, long time ago, before it descended into chaos, showing that religion, location, and a culture of violence and corruption are everything in the ME.

Even if all the variables were in favor of a peaceful and prosperous Palestinian State, Lebanon’s fate shows that the stakes are 100% against that from ever happening. And Israel will pay the highest price for its miscalculation…. or passivity, or willful blindness, or whatever is keeping Jews from demanding annexation, or at least a referendum on partition.

I would like to see a map of these and the new pal city near jericho to get an idea of what is happening. I doubt that this could be going on without BB approval. any body have any maps of any of these plans?

  4. The pursuit of “talks” and an eventual “agreement” are meant to distract the Jewish population while the real action towards partition continues apace. ~~~ There is no point in reading articles discussing Two States because Israeli citizens will have no say in it, and do not appear interested in demanding a referendum. ~~~ It is of absolutely no consequence whether Israelis like it or not. Partition is being implemented as we speak, step by step, with facts on the ground. ~~~ By the time Jews wake up, it will be too late. And that’s exactly how your government and its US-UN-EU-PA partners in the dismantling of Israel want it. It can’t be called partition by stealth because it’s being done quite in the open, with frequent reminders by the PM that Two States is his goal. Too bad that so many good Israelis are still in denial of the role “their government” and citizen inaction is playing in the perpetration of this land swindle. Some day nobody will be able to say they didn’t know what was going on.

These anti-Jewish policies are not pursued by foreign countries – they’re being carried out by the Israeli government itself! Impending peace talks are always an excuse for it to perpetuate the suffering of innocent Jews in their own country.

BB believes that if he can bring the Palis economic prosperity they will become good little Arabs and behave themselves. Then there are all those multi-billion $$$$ dollar contracts given to select friends with any quid pro-quo remuneration returning to BB probably later down the line.

BB belongs to the Thatcherist conservative school and he is so vain and shallow that he believes money and prosperity will trump religious nationalism or just plain nationalism. Since he has lost any vestige of principles and nationalism himself he projects his world view on to others and is constantly shocked when his theories never materialize but there is always money to be made from positions of political power so he can’t lose. At least that’s how he thinks.

I am always amazed here how politicians who never held a real civilian Job for any length of time become multimillionaires while holding political office and it never rings the alarm bells either by the press or even our own oppositions, who are silent never raising the issue or investigating where and how they amassed such substantial fortunes?

Understand a political truth most of the donor money going to PA winds up in the pockets of the PA Kleptocracy and they are largely partnered with Israeli oligarchs and politicians in and out of office. Nobody is eager to kill their golden goose.

Such corruption is more dangerous to the State than any apparent external existential threat.

  6. See my comments re the Regavim thread.

The Israeli government caters to the Arabs and doesn’t look out for the Jews.

Here the lesson is Jews have to fend for themselves – and its better for them, too!

  7. The Israeli government imposes no construction freeze on the Arabs; it enforces one only upon the Jews.

Ironically enough, the biggest promoter of Arab racism, extremism and hatred of the Jews, construction apartheid in Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria and anti-Jewish redlining is… the government of Israel itself.

No one has any objection to Arabs building wherever they want. On the other hand, out of fear of “what the world will say” the Israeli government has NOT authorized the building of a single new Jewish town in Judea and Samaria since 1993 and it also religiously enforces a de facto ban on Jewish construction in post-1967 Jerusalem.

These anti-Jewish policies are not pursued by foreign countries – they’re being carried out by the Israeli government itself! Impending peace talks are always an excuse for it to perpetuate the suffering of innocent Jews in their own country.

The people in the Israeli government complicit in all this are lower than pond scum!
