JPOST has good interview of Naftali Bennett

The man with the knitted kippa – and many hats
By GIL HOFFMAN, LAHAV HARKOV

Naftali Bennett is determined to lower the cost of living, encourage haredi employment and fight assimilation around the world.

There have been reports of fights between you and Lapid on key issues. Has your bond disappointed you in any way?

Yair and I disagree on a lot: The Land of Israel, negotiations with the Palestinians, religion and state, etc. But there is trust between us. Our word is our bond. There will be disappointment. Neither of us will get all of what we want, but meanwhile we are changing Israeli society. We are making people realize we have to compromise to get along here. The country is not all about fighting anymore.

  1. Netanyahu and Bennett are not friends. Netanyahu needed him only to secure his power. It doesn’t mean they share the same vision.

Sooner or later Bennett will find out he is not as indispensable as he thinks.

  2. My take on the Bennett interview is that he is talking mostly BS. He knows damn well that there is a Freeze in effect. He knows damn well that the settlers are being setup and left to the mercy of Arab terrorists. He knows damn well that the deflationary budget will hurt those most vulnerable in our society and that they have not even been as severe as need be. He knows that the elimination of duplication and tremendous waste would go a long way to reduce the budget deficit. He knows that up to 30-40% of our economy is based on undeclared Black market employment and not taxed. He knows that over 40% of those employed are paid out of public funds which is 15-20% higher than all other OECD countries. He knows or should that wide spread corruption is our greatest internal threat. He knows that government transparency is almost non existent in Israel.

Does his stated agenda touch on any of the above? Not much.

Most of his supporters voted for his party for one single reason: TO STOP A 2 STATE SOLUTION. There is no consensus for the rest of his centrist compromising positions. In my opinion he should never have supported Lapid who will in the end throw Bennett under the bus when a peace deal is in the offing and Labor even Shas will replace Bennett in the name of Peace. Lapid for the greater value of prospect for Peace agree to Shas entering the coalition. He and his party will be the lone voices in the wind when BB puts his Plan to the government. BB today has all the cards and Bennett…Mr. Compromise will have compromised Israel into a 2 State suicide pact.

BB has already made plain what his plans for Bennett will be and Bennett is acting as if nothing happened? Women of the wall? (spit)

Bibi under Attack for Leaving Bennett out of China Trip

Netanyahu ordered double bed on jet that took him to Britain, at cost of about 500,000 shekels

Political officials this week also reportedly expressed surprise at the fact that the large delegation that accompanied Netanyahu and his wife Sarah to China did not include Economics and Trade Minister Naftali Bennett. The entourage did include various businessmen.

Yediot Aharonot journalist Sima Kadmon quoted a political source as saying that “Naftali Bennett should have been the first name on Netanyahu’s list of whom to take. The main idea of this entire trip is to develop trade relations and economic ties with China. How can you go on such a visit without the minister in charge?”
